First class hotel, staff and location. Highly recommended

Really nice to stay in a non chain hotel. The decor is great. Big bathroom with both a bath and a separate walk in shower. Excellent water pressure making for a great shower. Very friendly check in staff. No problem with an early check in unlike the cheaper chains I’ve recently stayed at where early check in is now an automatic charge. Great place to stay if you’re planning an evening at the Royal Albert Hall.

Pros ... The hotel is very conveniently located, quite close to South Kensington tube station. The staff was quite helpful also. Cons... Neither the room nor the lobby/cafe areas were as high-end as the introductory photos. The "artsy" decoration looks cheap and childish. Room was very very very small , almost impossible to use the closet. The breakfast buffet was quite limited also. Summary ... Way too expensive for what it's worth.

The room was very clean, and the staff helpful. It was good to have water and snack cookies provided, and one staff member was very good about storing an item in the bar fridge for me. The elevator was very small and felt a bit tenuous at times. The room was large, though, and the bathroom too. The staff seemed to be worked a lot, perhaps working at the hotel across the street as well?
