This is a wonderful hotel. The lobby is a very beautifully designed room. It was a little bit of a maze to get to our room however the room was really nice and spacious. It had everything that we needed. The bed was very comfortable although the pillows weren’t great. We have stayed in better places, with more charm, but this was still a nice hotel. Parking was available at a near by car park, at a discounted rate. Would use again if we were in the area.

Vi har været glade for at bo på hotellet, og vi har samlet set haft et rigtig godt ophold. Vi valgte dog netop dette hotel, fordi det markedsføres som et femstjernet hotel, og fordi vi bevidst havde valgt en suite. Derfor var vores forventninger også høje. Vi boede ganske vist i en suite, men den levede desværre ikke helt op til det niveau, vi forbinder med en suite på et femstjernet hotel. Det handler primært om selve værelset. Det havde en let gammel og indelukket lugt, og både værelse og badeværelse fremstod en smule slidt og vandhanen i vaske havde en kold og en varm hane hvad gjorde det lodt besværligt at få den rette temperatur. Ved badet var vandet meget sparsomt. Møblerne var overordnet pæne og funktionelle, skabe og borde virkede tydeligt præget af alder og det samme gjorde lamperne. Der kom meget ltd ind af vinduerne da gardinerne ikke lukkede ordentlog til Der var også enkelte detaljer, som trak oplevelsen ned. Der manglede rengøring oven på skabene, og i loftet var der en adgangslem med tydelige mærker efter beskidte hænder. Gangene havde ligeledes en lidt indelukket lugt, hvilket gav et mindre velplejet førstehåndsindtryk. Når det er sagt, emmer hotellet af historie og karakter. De originale sten- og marmorgulve er smukke og vidner om en imponerende storhedstid. At gulvene bærer præg af alder, opleves derfor ikke som en mangel, men tværtimod som en del af hotellets charme og autenticitet. Det er netop denne historiske atmosfære, der gør stedet særligt. Lovely staff, great quiet and air conditioned room with lovely bed (no sore lower back from this one which is excellent!. Also lovely restaurant and bar space, and very useful discounted rate for NCP Oxford Street car park

Very disappointing and certainly not what I'd expect from a 5-star hotel, especially having paid for an upgraded room. We arrived to check in at 5pm, even though check-in starts at 3pm, and despite informing the hotel in advance that my partner has a duck down allergy, the room had still been made up with duck down bedding. We then had to wait while someone came to replace all of the bedding, which should have been taken care of before we arrived. The air conditioning barely works, leaving the room far warmer than it should be. The entire exterior of the building is also covered in scaffolding and construction work, which wasn't mentioned anywhere during the booking process. Had we known this in advance, we may have chosen to stay elsewhere. It was nice to have a coffee machine in the room, but all four pods provided were decaffeinated and, unfortunately, they tasted awful. It felt like a strange choice, particularly for a hotel of this standard. Overall, the experience fell well below what we'd expect from a hotel that advertises itself as 5-star.
