Conveniently located. Parking seemed ample at Check-in but on returning after dinner every spot was taken and we had to park on the street. This was OK but for a person on crutches to park across the road was tricky.

Its a little old and tired but it has a lift and great parking.Beds are comfortable and towels are fluffy. Wasn't a problem when we requested more. Kitchen had everything we needed and the heating worked well

What shall I say about Parkville?? I chose it because the location was near my friends house. It was as clean as they could get it... considering that the building hasn't been updated since the '60’s. Everything needs paint. The front desk staff was friendly and when we asked for towels, etc they were accommodating. The front door is key card access only after 8pm. The kitchen was minimally equipped.. but if we had wanted something else... they probably would have provided it. Overall ok... just don't expect anything fancy.

It was ok but the property overall needs a refurbishment. Quite cheap so we don’t expect 5 star but 3 star is a push. Our hotel was cancelled so needed something last minute and we found this. Cooking facilities aren’t great and an old air con unit. It was ok and as expected for the price

This is the second time I've stayed here. I chose it for the location, the price and convenient off-street parking. The building is looking very worn out, with heavily stained carpets on the front stairs and a dilapidated chair at the end of the corridor. Time for a refresh!

Easy to get a park on site, friendly owner on arrival, room was ready.

In window air con noisy but affective. Bed comfy and sheets crispy fresh clean. Property needs tlc but was clean. Appreciated the lux toilet paper. Limited parking on site was concerned about new car being on the street over night. Property condition was in line with price paid. Would stay again.

This place was misrepresented in the advertising. They used photos of newly renovated rooms in their advertising but this is definitely not what we were given. The room was filthy, layers of dust on multiple surfaces. Cutlery and cutlery trays were dirty. Bathroom was dirty. The whole place smelt musty and old. Would never reccommend this accommodation. It was disgusting, unhygenic.

Room was tidy but not clean. The toilet had hair over the top. Room was dusty and quite small. My son was up most the night coughing as he suffers with Asthma. Hubby and I were clogged up we needed to take Hayfever medication. The owner was lovely. Definitely couldn’t stay longer than 1 night.

The property is in need of a deep clean and some love. However, for the price and location it was great. It was quiet and even though it's on a main road I slept really well. Not sure I would stay here again or recommend it to others, but it did the job.

The carpet on the stairs was extremely moldey, probably a major health risk...otherwise, the room was ok..

Apartment walls were dirty and carpet hadn't been vacuumed. I had to buy some wipes to clean filthy walls and make room a bit cleaner.

The apartments are old, shabby, dirty and smelt stale and mouldy. All the carpets need to be replaced and burnt. Strongly recommend that if you are using any of the kitchen utensils or equipment, wash thoroughly first.

Not overly flash, you get what you pay for, but the room was clean and stsff were friendly. Its in a convenient location

Positives were that the check-in was easy, bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great. The property and room were really dated and need some TLC (e.g. marks on the walls). My room must've been at the end of the plumbing system because I could hear running water all the time and felt like I could hear every toilet flush! The heater and bar fridge in the room were both very noisy.

Stove was dirty when we arrived and I cleaned it. You could only get out one side of the qs bed. Could have been altered to allow both people to get out each side. hallway carpets are filthy and I had a bug bite me in the bed. Bathroom too snug for larger person. Location fine, communication fine. Stayed there as we needed last minute accommodation prior to surgery. close to Lygon st which was great.

Hard and uncomfortable mattress with deep ruts made sleeping difficult. Also very old air conditioner in the room did not cool but blew air from outside, which was quite uncomfortable during hot weather.

Good location and satisfactory but tiny unworkable bathroom and no lighting over bench top/sink. Basin under shaving cabinet so small we had to clean our teeth at the sing. Toilet awkward position in narrow bathroom.

Room was clean, but our room faced the car park and the street so we had no privacy and very little ventilation

Good sized room. Great shower, water pressure & temperature.

Room ok, no fly wire on windows got attacked by mosquitoes!. The cooking stove top was difficult to operate and time consuming to resolve regardless of instructions. The staff were very friendly and accommodating

Asked for financial information & ID however the information is stored in a box on managers desk & does not have a privacy policy & does not store the information with mandatory requirements. Room we were allocated had a very strong smell of marijuana & cigarettes. Spoke to owner & was told to live with it. Walls required maintenance & painting. Door jam at bathroom was rotted out. States it is a services apartment however was only serviced 1 day out of 5. Building is insecure as tenants wedge fire escape doors open. Consistent loud flowing water / toilet flushing noise 24 hours per day from rooms on upper levels. Tenants fighting & arguing outside your room in the hall wall at all hours of the night. Owners live on grounds & do nothing about the noise or complaints. Rooms need a professional deep clean as the owners do a spot clean (if your lucky) shower head fixture in bathroom was loose & had to wedge a shampoo bottle against the wall & shower head to be able to shower. Outside courtyard to the room was full of lots cigarettes butts on the ground. Rodents casually moving around in the courtyard. Bed mattress & pillows are extremely firm making sleeping difficult. The lounge in room was also extremely uncomfortable. TV is antiquated & does not all viewing of HD channels. Carpet is well outdated & felt sticky. Unsecured, filthy, uncomfortable, noisy, smelly, did not feel safe. Could not wait to leave. Owners would not offer money back or refund money if left early.

You must ask for room to be serviced or it won’t get done

This place has a few things going for it, but many things that prevent it from getting a good recommendation. It's in good location close to the toll ways and Lygon St. It has off-street parking but if you have a large car you are limited to hopefully getting one of the 4 rear parks as the side parking will only take small cars. The rear parking is very awkward to get into as well. Then as you check-in they want far more personal information than is necessary or required and a security deposit, but there is no mini bar, so why the security deposit! (8 days after checkout my deposit was returned - their 'story' is to blame the banks for the delay) So you leave reception feeling less than welcome and untrusted. It appears to have had new carpet laid in the last few years, but it appears to have not been laid well with it not sitting right and is loose fitting in places. Walking to your room, it feels dark and dirty. The place is actually quite clean but it is old, and feels old. The bathroom is the best area of the room, bright and white and functional, let down by the odd broken tile in the shower and chipped fittings. The room is clean but the dull colors do nothing to lift your spirit. Neither do the cupboard doors that have dropped and don't fit together well. You can cook on the electric range top or use the tiny microwave but we didn't bother. The 1/2 bar fridge is without doubt the smallest we have ever seen as is the flat screen TV. We wouln't stay again.

This was the perfectly located place to stay. I would re-book when I next come to Melbourne. Royal Park and Melbourne Zoo are within walking distance. It’s a seven minute walk to two tram routes that take you into the CBD, one of which will take you to the beach at St Kilda. There are lots of restaurants and bars close by too - we ate lovely meals on Lygon and Sydney Streets. We received a wonderful welcome to Parkville Place. T was absolutely the best: he was very friendly, helpful and informative. The owner was equally friendly and helpful. As for the room it had all one needed for a short to medium term stay. The bed was very comfortable, a recently renovated bathroom, kitchen facilities: kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge. We also had a small shaded courtyard. Although the corridor to our room looked a bit tired, improvements are in hand.

The standout feature to me was the friendly communication and very helpful support I received from the staff (Tee).

The premises is basic, bit daggy and older but totally fine for the reasonable price! Its clean, has stovetop, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, cutlery and crockery which is very handy, but the main thing that impressed me was how incredibly friendly and wonderful all the staff were! We dealt with 3 reception staff during our stay, every single one were the MOST wonderful friendly and helpful people I've ever encountered, I was really impressed and it really made my stay!

Lovely staff - very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and met the 3 star rating in terms of amenities. Handy for the city via trams and some lovely eateries down the road in Lyon Street.

The reception staff were excellent, so helpful and efficient. Could not ask for more.

Location fitted us well. 5 mins walk to Sydney Rd & tram. Receptionists friendly,bed comfy showe hot. Studio room with small table / chairs. Warm plus had balcony. Value for money during AFL finals weekend. Would stay again.

Good location at reasonable price, close to transport, food, shops.. ideal to get about Melbourne. Not fancy, but good for longer stay with ok amenities.

Comfortably made the top 3 worst places I have ever stayed, primarily due to the overwhelming and constant stench of cigarette smoke. Absolutely no way this constituted a 3* hotel. Had to have the door open constantly in order to breathe, but felt unsafe even on 1st floor due to the area immediately surrounding the hotel. The reception staff were friendly and the proximity to Brunswick is good, linen was clean but very much let down by the smoke and general tired and grubbiness of the hard surfaces and carpet.

The property is a bit rough and ready, but it's secure, the rooms are clean, and it's very very handy to all the restaurants, shopping and transport options around Brunswick.

I have stayed here a number of times as it is a good location and good value for money.

People were helpful and pleasant. Excellent location for a Nth Melbourne early appointment.
