Hey Lou Hotel Nördlingen

We picked this hotel because if has air conditioning. Unfortunately you can't really control the temperature, it was pre set to 24C. Also, if you arrive after 10pm, there is nobody there to check you in. The hotel lobby is closed and locked at 10pm, guests are forced back into their rooms. While we were staying there, a lady in the next room couldn't open her door, her Room Key Card stopped working. We helped her call the emergency hotel number, where we were instructed to leave a message describing our issue. We waited over an hour, but nobody called back. We then tried another number, finally someone picked up and told us they will send someone to help. After 45 min a person arrived and helped the lady open her room. It was well after midnight by the time help arrived. This is ridiculous. What an awful way to treat your guests! If your key stops working after 10pm be ready to sleep in your car or on the bench outside of the hotel because the lobby is closed, locked, nobody left to help you. Also, keep in mind that this is the most basic hotel. Its all bare minimum rooms, no fridge, no safe, no water ( there was water dispenser on our floor, but it was empty for all 3 days we stayed there). No room service, no front desk personnel, no soap or shampoo ( dispensers in our room were empty). On a positive note, breakfast was actually pretty good, property is new, so looks well maintained, the hotel personnel was nice ( when they are there, they all leave at 10pm).

Very functional, efficient and comfortable hotel located above a hypermarket, parking was abundant and there was a good cafe just across the carpark. It’s also a short walk from Old Town.

Really nice hotel and location not far from the train station and town centre.

The staff were very kind and provided excellent service. It’s a hotel that makes me want to stay again.
