Shangri-La Golden Sands, Penang

Excelente en todo sentido. A pesar de ser un edificio que se nota que tiene sus años esta bien mantenido. Destaco la atención del personal, TODOS son extremadamente amables, un placer tratar con ellos. El desayuno es bueno, variado y todo rico en general. El área de la piscina super limpia, muchas reposeras. Lo único en contra la playa, no es muy bonita, pero si no vas exclusivamente a hacer playa esta bien. En resumen, diría que es una muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Rooms are clean but very dated. The hotel is centrally located and within walking to local eateries and the night market. This is good as everything inside the hotel is very overpriced. I Breakfast was ok but not worth the money if not included in the room for free. The beach is eroded which is a shame. The pool so very nice. I previously stayed at the Hard Rock and found that to be better value for money.

Be aware that the rooms facing the city have no balcony. We upgraded on check-in and had a lovely balcony looking over the pools and sea. The hotel wasn’t full so there were plenty of sunbeds and breakfast was quiet even at peak hour! Plenty of food choices and the staff were friendly. There is no beach access due to erosion but the grounds are fine and pools looked lovely. Plenty of places to eat and drink just outside the hotel so make sure you explore. Grabs are plentiful and it’s only a 10 min drive to the butterfly farm and Batik cultural factory.
