No room service is not good. Location perfect. Hotel was a bit run down but still ok

Very convenient and cost effective but no dining facilities except first rate breakfast. Highly recommend to the management that they reopen their dining room once again.

Prima Unterkunft. Es war alles sehr sauber und das Frühstück hervorragend. Darauf konnte man sich wirklich jeden morgen freuen. Die Lage ist sehr zentral und man ist in unter 5 Minuten in der Altstadt. Leider war im Bad das Duschrohr nicht ganz dicht und dadurch die Regendusche kaum nutzbar, Handbrause war aber OK. Die Parkplätze waren nicht ausreichend vorhanden.

Sehr schönes Hotel und super zentral, genau am Bahnhof. Beim Check-In sagte mir die sehr freundliche Dame, sie hätte mein Zimmer sogar für den gleichen Preis upgraded - ich hatte ein sehr großes Zimmer im 6. Stock mit Klimaanlage und Blick auf den Bahnhofsvorplatz. Das Frühstück war auch sehr gut und umfangreich. Der Kaffee schmeckt hervorragend. Ich glaube ich hatte noch nie so einen schönen Hotelaufenthalt. Für Leute, die mit dem Auto anreisen: es gibt einige Parkplätze hinter dem Haus, die Einfahrt mit Schranke ist rechts neben dem Burgerking. Diese Plätze sind aber begrenzt und kosten 20,-- € extra, man muß auch beim Einparken ein bißchen zirkeln, da ziemlich eng. Gegenüber vom Hotel gibt es wohl auch noch Parkplätze von der Stadt St. Gallen, die kosten auch so viel. Nochmals vielen Dank an die sehr nette Dame an der Rezeption (sie hatte einen leicht russischen Akzent). Resumee: Das Hotel Walhalla in St. Gallen ist meiner Meinung nach voll und ganz empfehlenswert.

Beautiful room with excellent levels of cleanliness and very comfortable bed!

The Walhalla is a great place to stay if you need to be close to transportation without having a car. It's located directly at the Hauptbahnhof (Main Station), so you can be anywhere in a matter of minutes and shops that are open on Sundays. But for a 4-star hotel, there is no restaurant (except for the fantastic breakfast bar). There was a a lot of dust on the shelves near the entrance where you hang your clothes, probably due to housekeepers not reaching that far back on the shelf. Tile on the bathroom walls also did not look properly cleaned. Not what I would expect for a hotel of this caliber. Additionally, no free water bottle, which was admittedly annoying after arriving and checking in late at night. Maybe I'm spoiled as an American, but most upscale hotels in the US have a fridge. Finally, rooms are large but very sparingly furnished. There are no security measures to keep strangers from accessing the upper levels. No one will stop you. So not great for women traveling alone.

Zimmer war nicht sauber geputzt, mehrere schuhabdrücke im bad, urinflecken am WC. personal ging nicht auf meine beschwerde ein, eine teure juniorsuite wurde gebucht, ein kleines zimmer habe ich erhalten. Das frühstück war heute nicht der hit, keine frischen früchte, keine tomaten, keine gurken, das enlische frühstück bot lediglich schinken und rühreier.

Nach dem Einchecken hatte es Haare auf dem Bett. In der Dusche hatte es bei den Plättchen in ein paar Fugen Schimmel. Beim Frühstück hatte im Rührrei Schalen und es hatte zuwenig Person, um die Tische aufzuräumen. Das Bett wurde nach Beanstandung sofort neu bezogen. Deshalb nur drei Punkte.

Located close to public transport. Easy walking to restaurants and cafes. Modern facilities and helpful courteous staff. Cleanliness of room was questionable as we found a number of nail clippings on the floor. Overall an enjoyable 2 night stay.

The shower had a lot of black mold all the way around the outer edges. When staff came in to pick up dirty towels i was hoping they would clean it, but they did not. I left the towels right in front of the shower. They could not miss it! They ignored it!

Hotel centrale, proprio di fronte alla stazione FS. Camera abbastanza spaziosa, molto silenziosa, senza frigo. Colazione un po' sotto la media quanto ad assortimento (un 4 stelle senza pane tostato???). Un classico BW più da 3 stelle che 4.

4 star no air condition hotel

EXCELLENT BREAKFAST. They offer american style breakfast which is a big plus in Europe. I rated it only 4 stars because they advertised the suite rooms had air conditioning and upon arrival they said that none of their rooms have air conditioning due to Switzerland energy rules. Expedia should not allow them to advertise air conditioning.

The hotel is nice, and the breakfast was excellent. The location is an easy walk to multiple sights. It does, however, lack air conditioning, which impacted our comfort. We had to sleep with the windows open, which allowed noise from the trains and pedestrians below into the room until after midnight. Other than that, our stay was lovely.

Lady at the reception was unhelpful. We had called in advance to make sure check in would get done seamlessly despite last minute changed but receptionist decided to be rude and a nuisance instead. Too bad since it was a very special trip and my mother is an elderly woman. Still manage to enjoy her stay and the excellent facilities at the hotel.

Excellent and nice surprise - great price- beautiful- staff- Marta at front desk amazing. Truly lovely and so helpful. Breakfast included that was a huge buffet - complimentary coffee in lobby and in the room was a surprise. First location in 2 weeks in Switzerland where I didn’t have to pay for coffee. Location ideal. I will definitely return! Thank you for a lovely stay- wish it was more than one night.

The reception was courteous and very helpful. Set me up with a hotel pass for the local transport. Gave me a map and provided useful suggestions Upgraded me when they realized it was my birthday. The breakfast was wonderful.

Frühstücksbuffet: Es gab eine gute Auswahl beim Frühstück, das hat uns gut gefallen. Mängel beim Service: Leider gab es einen deutlichen Personalmangel beim Frühstück. Wir wurden mehrfach ignoriert, und es standen noch dreckige Teller auf den Tischen, die nicht abgeräumt wurden. Obwohl das Personal, das sich um den Bereich kümmerte, dies gesehen hat, wurde nichts unternommen, um uns zu helfen oder die Teller zu entfernen. Das war enttäuschend.

Great location opposite the station and a 10 minute walk from the old town. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating in securing us a quiet room. Room was comfortable and clean, with coffee and tea making facilities. Breakfast was also good with a lot of variety.

Breakfast buffet was the best I had in my time in Switzerland, the reception staff were very friendly both arriving and checking out. Right opposite the buses and train station so convenient for exploring further afield. The room was great value with plenty of space, very clean and light, with comfortable bed and large bathroom. Would 100% stay here again!

Zimmer war sauber. Bett gemacht ganz okay. Dass aber weder Duschgel noch die 3 anderen Shampoo, Conditioner usw. nicht mal halb gefüllt waren ist eines 4* nicht würdig. Auch das herausdrücken dieser Mittel ist mühsam, da die Pumpen zu klein und der Hahn nicht gut zugänglich ist! Ich war zu früh für den Checkin und wollte zumindest mein Gepäck aufgeben und ein Ticket für den lokalen ÖV. Das Personal war aber vielmehr daran interessiert zuerst meine KK zu belasten, obwohl sie alle Angaben bereits hatten. Ich musste 3x nach dem Ticket fragen. Als ich am Abend spät am Hotel ankam und geläutet habe, war die Reception so nett und hat mir gedeutet wo ich die Karte hinhalten sollte, um die Tür zu öffnen. Anstatt mir als Gast sofort die Tür zu öffnen. Denn ich hatte ja noch gar keine Zimmerkarte! Frühstück: absolute Katastrophe. Chaos pur. Niemand da der die Gäste koordiniert hat. Alles voll wie im Bienenstock. Das Personal mit abräumen und Tische reinigen überfordert. Nichts gegen ausländisches Personal, absolut nicht! Aber schickt die doch bitte erst in eine Schulung wie es sich in der Schweiz auf 4 Sterne Niveau gehört einen Tisch abzuräumen und zu reinigen. Es ging viel zu lange, die Krümel wurden einfach auf den Boden gewischt, der Tisch wurde ertränkt, pflatsch nass. Wenig bis kein Geschirr, jeder Teller hatte Ecken ab. Eierspeisen nicht frisch, 5-Min Eier kalt, Kaffeemaschinen überlastet. Preis wegen Uni-Abschluss-Events viel zu hoch für diesen mageren Service!
