Overall, passable experience for a 5* hotel. The good: - Big rooms and nice views - Big bathroom - nice location walking distance from all key spots - nice staff (except the luggage person who seemed to be very angry) The bad: - crazy you need to pay 40e to use the SPA, you’d assume that payinf 300e for the room would give you access to the SPA too but no. - shower was leaking and “flooded” the bathroom - nothing serious but annoying - they had no hard pillows so all pillows were soft and thinner than paper

Fem stjerners komfort ok. Priser på mat deretter. Rom mot hage med mye byggestøy (4 prosjekter) som trekker ned vårt inntrykk. Ikke mulig med morgen svøm da bassenget ikke åpner før kl 10. Ny management, litt høye priser generelt gjør at belegget er lavt. Ingen butikker eller alternative restauranter i umiddelbar nærhet. Sjøen nedenfor er steinete og glatt, farlig å bade. Beach bus som hotellet anbefalte fungerer dårlig, måtte av og vente på ny, brukte over 1 time ekstra hjem; taxi anbefales.

We stayed here for our last 3 nights in Sardinia. Front desk agent, Marcello, was incredibly helpful and friendly and we enjoyed seeing him daily. The hotel was spotless and clean. The balcony was big and spacious and had a lovely view of the sea. We really enjoyed our time in the spa and saunas and felt the experience was worth the price to unwind and relax. The location was perfect and we walked into the historic town along the sea every night for dinner. We took advantage of the free parking lot which was a nice addition. We enjoyed a drink and lunch at the hotel bar patio which has a gorgeous view! The lunch was tasty, but a little pricey. Our only negative would be that the pool was too cold to dip into!

Très bon accueil. Hôtel confortable avec des services digne d'un 4/5 etoiles En revanche, le parking de l hôtel est beaucoup trop petit et ouvert à tout le monde, du coup il est difficile de trouver des places pour se garer le soir en rentrant. Autre remarque, nous étions en demi pension et autant côté petit dejeuner, il y a profusion de choix et il n y a rien à redire, c'est même excellent, en revanche pour le diner c'est l'inverse, 2 plats ( 1 viande/ 1poisson) et 1 dessert type gateau ...pas de fromage certains soirs . Ceci dit c'est très qualitatif mais le choix est vraiment trop limité pour un buffet d'hôtel de cette gamme. Personnel toujours accueillant...

Exceptional staff. Great service. Great room. The breakfast is terrific. My family and I had a fantastic experience. Gym leaves something to be desired and there is a lawn beyond the pool area that looks unfinished. Given how great this hotel is overall, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that the lawn is probably a project in progress and will look very different sometime soon.

Easy parking. Some tired furniture and carpets could do with refurbishment. More furniture required in larger rooms. Pool area could do with more landscaping and planting. Indoor bar area very small.

We’ve just had 9 days at this beautiful hotel in a double superior room with balcony overlooking sea and pool. Room was large, modern and clean. Lovely large bathroom with complimentary products and hairdryer. Mini bar and safe also. Huge storage / hanging space in wardrobes. We asked for a rollaway bed for our daughter which was kindly provided. All staff were lovely and very helpful. Pool is large with plenty of sun beds and never an issue finding one no matter what time we went to the pool (opens at 10). We hired a car and always able to park near hotel or in their small car park. Walk to old town is a gentle 15 min stroll along the stunning seafront road with market sellers at night, bars and restaurants en-route too. Overall a wonderful stay in beautiful Alghero and will surely return to this hotel.

Cleaning ladies need more training. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed it a lot!!

It was a delight staying here. I had a lovely, large room with a modern bathroom. Plus there was air conditioning which is rare in Europe. It was within easy walking distance of the old town. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Wenn es ein 3 Sterne Hotel wäre, wäre alles top. Für ein 5 Sterne Hotel mit diesem hohen Preis mangelhaft: das Zimmer war bei der Anreise kaum mit Tüchern ausgestattet, das Badezimmer konnte nur geschlossen werden wenn man es abschloss, das Wasser im WC tropfte ständig (in der WC Schüssel), die Bettwäsche wurde nie gewechselt. Keine Kleenex Tücher und Hygienebeutel. Es war eine grosse Gruppe für einen Kongress vor Ort, welche in der Bar bis teilweise nach Mitternacht sehr laut war und diese konnte man noch durch die geschlossenen Türen hören. Die Kaffeemaschinen beim Frühstück funktionierten eigentlich fast nie. Wir gingen aus diversen Gründen eine Nacht früher (haben eine Woche gebucht), wir wurden nicht gefragt weshalb aber mussten sofort ein Formular unterschreiben dass es nicht am Hotel lag und dann lief die Receptionistin weg! Positiv war das Früstück sowie das Personal beim Frühstück, Pool und Bar wie auch der Pool und die Pool-Anlage.

Hotel bien situado, atención en recepción perfecta, hotel anticuado, la limpieza regular, nos encontramos restos anteriores en el armario, y el aire acondicionado lo apagué para dormir y se encendió solo en la madrugada cuando desperté estabamos heladas, desayuno correcto, necesita el hotel una profunda reforma para ser un 5*, de momento es un escaso 4*.

The Carlos V Hotel is one of the most brilliantly located properties in Alghero, it's right on the sea front, with amazing Mediterranean views it's in a relatively quiet residential area so total silence (and amazing sleep) in the night time. The facilities are wonderful: our room was huge, with nice added benefits like bathrobes, slippers, quality toiletries, bottled water (still & sparkling) provided daily. Cleanliness was incredible - the hotel obviously has high standards - this was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I ever stayed in. The staff are wonderful, very friendly and accommodating - especially the reception staff . Food - we didn't avail of breakfast or the half board evening meals... but we did have lunch in the poolside bar a few times, and it was excellent quality, and reasonably priced. They also have a fantastic wine list!

We asked for a rollaway bed for our daughter which was kindly provided. All staff were lovely and very helpful. Pool is large with plenty of sun beds and never an issue finding one no matter what time we went to the pool (opens at 10). We hired a car and always able to park near hotel or in their small car park. Walk to old town is a gentle 15 min stroll along the stunning seafront road with market sellers at night, bars and restaurants en-route too. Overall a wonderful stay in beautiful Alghero and will surely return to this hotel.

A perfect selection for foreign trackers to Alghero who enjoy high end hotels without being overly pretentious. The too S are comfortable however the beds are terrible firm and should all be outfitted with memory foam covers. They also sit a bit low to the ground but people in Europe tend to be shorter in general. The breakfast buffet was great with many options.

We stayed here for our last 3 nights in Sardinia. Front desk agent, Marcello, was incredibly helpful and friendly and we enjoyed seeing him daily. The hotel was spotless and clean. The balcony was big and spacious and had a lovely view of the sea. We really enjoyed our time in the spa and saunas and felt the experience was worth the price to unwind and relax. The location was perfect and we walked into the historic town along the sea every night for dinner. We took advantage of the free parking lot which was a nice addition. We enjoyed a drink and lunch at the hotel bar patio which has a gorgeous view! The lunch was tasty, but a little pricey. Our only negative would be that the pool was too cold to dip into!

Beautiful place. Beautiful food and pool. Service great. Terrible pillows and really uncomfortable beds. The room was really really hot! The Hotel is situated in a wonderful spot with a fantastic sea view. You can tell it was a top place when it was built but now it seems a little outdated. The rooms are comfortable with nice linens and a great shower. However, some details are inadequate for a presumed 5-star Hotel. Some examples: no face tissues in the bathroom, no extra pillows with different height (the 2 in the bed were too low to be used singles and too high to be used doubles). Another sub-par experience was breakfast: cold fried eggs (pre-cooked), cold cuts not fresh and not high quality, no sausages, no freshly squeezed orange juice, etc. In summary a good stay, but it should have been better for the fame and the price.

Chegamos no hotel por volta das 21 hs e não tinha vaga para o carro e nem Valet para estacionar. Nossa diária incluía jantar e o buffet estava fechado e comida de baixa qualidade. We stayed here for our last 3 nights in Sardinia. Front desk agent, Marcello, was incredibly helpful and friendly and we enjoyed seeing him daily. The hotel was spotless and clean. It was a delight staying here. I had a lovely, large room with a modern bathroom. Plus there was air conditioning which is rare in Europe. It was within easy walking distance of the old town. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Das Hotel ist laut Beschreibung zwar ein fünf Sterne Hotel jedoch fragt man sich, woher diese fünf Sterne kommen. Aus unserer Sicht maximal ein vier Sterne plus Hotel. Vielleicht lag es daran, dass wir schon etwas später in der Saison angekommen sind, aber das Personal war nicht sehr freundlich und hatte kein Lächeln auf den Lippen. Es kam eher genervt und angespannt rüber. Auch gab es in unserem Zimmer nur einen Bademantel, obwohl wir zu zweit waren. Wir hatten den Spa-Bereich also nur alleine aufsuchen können. Man muss allerdings sagen, der Ausblick ist hervorragend und unbeschreiblich schön, wenn man einen Meerblick direkt zur Straßen hat. Tolle Sonnenuntergänge kann man dort erleben! Dennoch, das Hotel ist etwas in Jahre gekommen und hätte einen Anstrich ganz gut vertragen. Das Frühstück morgens war okay allerdings tatsächlich nur vergleichbar mit einem Buffet in einem ganz normalen Viersternehotel. Es reicht halt nicht nur eine schöne Lobby zu haben. Auch das Hotel an sich sollte gepflegt sein und wenn man fünf Sterne haben möchte, dann sollte das Personal sehr freundlich sein und den Gästen nach Möglichkeit jeden Wunsch aus dem Gesicht ablesen können. Schließlich zahlt man dafür auch den einen Stern mehr. Fazit: ein schönes maximal Viersternehotel, das leider Gottes zu hohe Preise hat für das, was es bietet und bereits ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen ist. I am typically not a complainer and I traveled all through Italy weeks prior to this stay. We picked this place hoping for a nice 5 star stay after all the crazy travels. I want to fist say how did this place get 5 stars?!? Was it earned or given? It was a terrible property the customer service is absolute trash. We paid extra for two separate beds as I am traveling with my grandma and they practically refused to give us another room until we argued with them. Mind you we paid extra for this specific room. Later on at the dinner buffet staff made comments about our “problems” at check in we had multiple staff ask us what happened?! How un professional! When we simply paid for a room with 2 separate beds. We wanted what we paid for. $1,800 for 3 nights, what a WASTE!!!! We wanted a queen and a twin and we’re give a queen room and then told they would bring up a bed! What a joke! For $1,800 I would not sleep on a rollaway bed!! The dinner buffet was 2 stars! Food was okay! Breakfast was great!! You would think after paying for dinner the least they could do is include water! I get that wine and cocktails aren’t included but water?!? Overall would not recommend this property!! (The female bartender in the mornings by herself she was great!!!!! Makes a killer margarita!! Didn’t catch her name.)

Não existe nenhuma explicação para se considerar 5 estrelas, o atendimento é medíocre para pior, o Ibis os funcionários são melhores treinados a recepcionar e atender bem os hóspedes. Tudo que tem de interessante nas fotos do hotel é do Spa que não esta incluso nada na diária. O atendimento novamente tenho que apontar é lamentável, cheguei para checkin as 14:40 e ainda tive que esperar 50 minutos para entrar no quarto. O bar da piscina não servem nenhum lanche somente bebida, o restaurante do hotel por mais que esteja vazio não te atendem se não tiver feito reserva. Pedi 3 vezes um saca-rolhas e me deixaram esperando sem entregar, até ligar uma quarta vez e falarem que não tem.

The Carlos V Hotel is one of the most brilliantly located properties in Alghero, it's right on the sea front, with amazing Mediterranean views it's in a relatively quiet residential area so total silence (and amazing sleep) in the night time. The facilities are wonderful: our room was huge, with nice added benefits like bathrobes, slippers, quality toiletries, bottled water (still & sparkling) provided daily. Cleanliness was incredible - the hotel obviously has high standards - this was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I ever stayed in. The staff are wonderful, very friendly and accommodating - especially the reception staff . Food - we didn't avail of breakfast or the half board evening meals... but we did have lunch in the poolside bar a few times, and it was excellent quality, and reasonably priced. They also have a fantastic wine list!
The Carlos V Hotel is one of the most brilliantly located properties in Alghero, it's right on the sea front, with amazing Mediterranean views it's in a relatively quiet residential area so total silence (and amazing sleep) in the night time. The facilities are wonderful: our room was huge, with nice added benefits like bathrobes, slippers, quality toiletries, bottled water (still & sparkling) provided daily. We’ve just had 9 days at this beautiful hotel in a double superior room with balcony overlooking sea and pool. Room was large, modern and clean. Lovely large bathroom with complimentary products and hairdryer. Mini bar and safe also. Huge storage / hanging space in wardrobes. We asked for a rollaway bed for our daughter which was kindly provided. All staff were lovely and very helpful. Pool is large with plenty of sun beds and never an issue finding one no matter what time we went to the pool (opens at 10). We hired a car and always able to park near hotel or in their small car park. Walk to old town is a gentle 15 min stroll along the stunning seafront road with market sellers at night, bars and restaurants en-route too. Overall a wonderful stay in beautiful Alghero and will surely return to this hotel.

Chegamos no hotel por volta das 21 hs e não tinha vaga para o carro e nem Valet para estacionar. Nossa diária incluía jantar e o buffet estava fechado e comida de baixa qualidade. A localização é muito boa, dá para ir a pé para o centro de Alghero. Nosso quarto era grande, renovado e com vista para a piscina e mar. Cama e travesseiros ruins, muito duros e roupa de cama de baixa qualidade. Com certeza não é um hotel 5 estrelas

A perfect selection for foreign trackers to Alghero who enjoy high end hotels without being overly pretentious. The too S are comfortable however the beds are terrible firm and should all be outfitted with memory foam covers. They also sit a bit low to the ground but people in Europe tend to be shorter in general. The breakfast buffet was great with many options.

Tolles Hotel direkt nahe Zentrum. Die Zimmer mit direktem Meerblick groß und sauber. Der Pool sehr groß und sauber. Leider wird der direkte Meerblick durch eine Hecke verdeckt. Das Essen war sehr lecker, doch leider nur lauwarm bis kalt. Das geht für ein fünf Sterne Hotel und den Preis gar nicht. Schade ist auch, dass man bei Halbpension sowie beim Frühstück in einem geschlossenen Raum sitzt und nicht draußen mit Meerblick. Ist nicht zu verstehen.

We stayed here for our last 3 nights in Sardinia. Front desk agent, Marcello, was incredibly helpful and friendly and we enjoyed seeing him daily. The hotel was spotless and clean. The balcony was big and spacious and had a lovely view of the sea. We really enjoyed our time in the spa and saunas and felt the experience was worth the price to unwind and relax. The location was perfect and we walked into the historic town along the sea every night for dinner. We took advantage of the free parking lot which was a nice addition. We enjoyed a drink and lunch at the hotel bar patio which has a gorgeous view! The lunch was tasty, but a little pricey. Our only negative would be that the pool was too cold to dip into!

Hôtel confortable avec des services digne d'un 4/5 etoiles En revanche, le parking de l hôtel est beaucoup trop petit et ouvert à tout le monde, du coup il est difficile de trouver des places pour se garer le soir en rentrant. Autre remarque, nous étions en demi pension et autant côté petit dejeuner, il y a profusion de choix et il n y a rien à redire, c'est même excellent, en revanche pour le diner c'est l'inverse, 2 plats ( 1 viande/ 1poisson) et 1 dessert type gateau ...pas de fromage certains soirs . Ceci dit c'est très qualitatif mais le choix est vraiment trop limité pour un buffet d'hôtel de cette gamme. Personnel toujours accueillant...

I am typically not a complainer and I traveled all through Italy weeks prior to this stay. We picked this place hoping for a nice 5 star stay after all the crazy travels. I want to fist say how did this place get 5 stars?!? Was it earned or given? It was a terrible property the customer service is absolute trash. We paid extra for two separate beds as I am traveling with my grandma and they practically refused to give us another room until we argued with them. Mind you we paid extra for this specific room. Later on at the dinner buffet staff made comments about our “problems” at check in we had multiple staff ask us what happened?! How un professional! When we simply paid for a room with 2 separate beds. We wanted what we paid for. $1,800 for 3 nights, what a WASTE!!!! We wanted a queen and a twin and we’re give a queen room and then told they would bring up a bed! What a joke! For $1,800 I would not sleep on a rollaway bed!! The dinner buffet was 2 stars! Food was okay! Breakfast was great!! You would think after paying for dinner the least they could do is include water! I get that wine and cocktails aren’t included but water?!? Overall would not recommend this property!! (The female bartender in the mornings by herself she was great!!!!! Makes a killer margarita!! Didn’t catch her name.)

We were very surprised twice-Once ,you wouldn't expect payment of 45 euros per person per 1.5 hours to use sauna! Second you wouldn't expect when breakfast until 10:00 the staf to come rushing at 9:58 as if you are during school or army service,and clear everything so quick breaking a world record.Very unpleasant

We were very disappointed with our stay. The air conditioning did not work during our entire five-night stay, despite temperatures of 33–36°C, making the room extremely uncomfortable and sleeping very difficult. The hotel was aware of the issue, but we were not offered another room, a fan, or any other solution. We were also given a different room from the one we had booked, facing a noisy main road.. What disappointed us most was the lack of customer service. We raised the issue several times during our stay and were told to contact the hotel afterwards to get a refund, but despite multiple emails, we never received a response. Unfortunately, not the experience or level of service we expected from a hotel of this category.

Everything was fine but AC broke (for entire hotel). No help what so ever. No refund. No fans. No communication. Was out for entire trip. Impossible to sleep and the lack of proactive assistance in resolving. So many guests fuming.
