You can't beat this for convenience since you're right in the center of the park and very near the visitor center and lodge restaurants. However, the condition of the cabin left a little to be desired, with peeling paint and questionable alignment of the door lock. It should also be noted that parking was a short walk away. But all things considered, we would stay here again.

The lobby is very nice. Great gift shops and a Starbucks. We rented a historical cabin that was quaint and cute. The cabins are positioned a long long way from the parking lot. We had 2 large coolers with no wheels so it was quit a workout getting out things to the cabin. The main restaurant had just okay food and just okay service. The constant banging of the kitchen door closing was extremely annoying. One male server said there is nothing they can do about that after I sugged the closer be adjusted to slow the door. I usually don't get bothered by noises but man every 10 to 15 sec bang, bang, The caves were awesome as well as the hiking. Highly recommend staying here. Had a great time.

Although it’s an older facility, it was a nice stay… quiet, close to the restaurant and visitor center and cave tours. Food at the restaurant was good and very reasonably priced for a national park facility.

Stayed in the cottages located across the parking lot from the Lodge. These are 1930s era individual cottages, look like they are old CCC project cabins. Very vintage, wood floors, old door and window hardware and they front right onto deep forest of the park. Quiet and deep green. I spent most of my day in the park just sitting out front of my cottage reading in the shade. No tv or radio in the cottages but good hot water and AC. I don't know if there was wifi because I always use phone for access. I was able to connect, a little slow but there was definitely signal. Bed and bedding were quite nice. Walking distance from the historical entrance to Mammoth cave and the visitors center for other tours of the cave complex. The grill and bar restaurant was affordable and the food was good. The deer on site are so use to people you can walk up to about 20 or 30 feet from them in the late afternoon. I didn't go on any of the caving as I've done them several times before, but I always wanted to stay at the Lodge and the price was nicely reasonable. I usually try to stopover around the Bowling Green KY area on my way North or South and will probably try to stop here again given the opportunity. Two small downsides on staying here; the front door on my cottage was sticky near the top and I had give it a good nudge to open it, and its a good walk from the parking lot to the cottages (guessing 1,000 ft.) and you can't drive closer so its a bit a of long drag for baggage.

Wonderful motel-style room at the Lodge at Mammoth Cave. Clean rooms complete with microwave mini fridge and coffeemaker. Walking distance to Mammoth Cave tours and Green River restaurant. Dark at night with birdsong in the morning. Friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Perfect option for our visit to Mammoth cave. Only negative was that the lighting for the path to the cottages was not working. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

My husband and I stayed one night at the lodge in Mammoth Cave, and it was a wonderful experience—especially since it was my first time staying overnight in a national park. We have AT&T phone service, so we did get some service at the lodge, no Wi-Fi, and no television. It was actually perfect! The room was extremely clean, air conditioning worked really well, the water pressure was amazing and there was enough hot water for the three of us to all shower. One right after the other. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that they provide was actually really great. Absolutely would stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay in the National park. The historical cabins are conveniently located. Closed to the restaurants and trails. Cave tours are amazing. However the cabins are getting old and there was a persistent muggy smell inside. The AC was too loud. Even with my earplugs, I had hard time to fall asleep.

The cottages should have come with warnings about the state of living. I didn’t realize that rats/mice were a part of the amenity package. Had I known that, I would not have booked. I mentioned this at the front desk, and they just shook their head knowingly as if that were no surprise. I have two young children, and finding rat droppings all throughout the cottage was disgustingly - this included the beds. Well, some people might not have minded this, I would highly not recommend.

We stayed in the Sunset Terrace rooms. It looked like an old motel strip. There were 4 of us. The room was clean, but too small for 4 of us. There was a good size fridge, but no table to eat on. The only choice was to eat at the common patio (with the bugs and humidity). Also spiders got in our room through the crack under the door. The parking lot was our view. The park was unique with the caves and 3 nights in the hotel room was definitely enough.

Definitely could use a few updates on building structures (holes under and in doors), sticky traps in bathroom. Reminiscent of a bunkhouse at an old church camp. All that aside, beds were SUPER comfortable, cabins were very clean, and staff was beyond helpful and super nice in every way.

Room was partially updated, beds/linens/towels were nice, lights updated, bathroom partially updated. Shower head was so clogged that it barely functioned.The carpet was so musty/mold smelling and was damp. The Wi-Fi worked well after the second day when they reset the router

Check in took 30 minutes because only 1 staff was checking in and they were out doing some kind of maintenance at 6pm. We’re not informed of lack of internet access where we were staying. Peeling paint in the cabin.

It’s steps away from the Mammoth Caves NP visitor center, which is fantastic! We got a room in the Sunset Terrace - the size was good, but very dated, specially the bathroom. Lots of food options at the Lodge, and the major trailheads are either walkable or really short drive.

Everything besides the room was great but the cabins are quite old -- probably vintage 1950s. But it was located in the heart of Mammoth Cave Natl Park so walking to the caves, restaurants and visitors center was effortless. Recommend it but don't think it's a Holiday Inn Express.

Staff was very courteous, friendly, and helpful. The 'rustic cabins' are only OK. The first one we had (112/113) was pretty run down and absolutely overrun with bugs. We requested to be moved, and the 206/207 cabin was nicer, newer, and cleaner. If you have loud neighbors you will know it - some drunken idiots kept us up for a while the first night. Recommend not staying in these cabins if you're at Mammoth Cave - perhaps the rooms up at the lodge proper are more comfortable for a family.

Very vintage, wood floors, old door and window hardware and they front right onto deep forest of the park. Quiet and deep green. I spent most of my day in the park just sitting out front of my cottage reading in the shade. No tv or radio in the cottages but good hot water and AC. I don't know if there was wifi because I always use phone for access. I was able to connect, a little slow but there was definitely signal. Bed and bedding were quite nice. Walking distance from the historical entrance to Mammoth cave and the visitors center for other tours of the cave complex. The grill and bar restaurant was affordable and the food was good. The deer on site are so use to people you can walk up to about 20 or 30 feet from them in the late afternoon. I didn't go on any of the caving as I've done them several times before, but I always wanted to stay at the Lodge and the price was nicely reasonable. I usually try to stopover around the Bowling Green KY area on my way North or South and will probably try to stop here again given the opportunity. Had to wait 30 mins to be checked in. Even though we arrived at 5pm. The person working the front desk was nowhere to be found and none of the other 4 people there could/would check us in. The room had paint peeling off the walls and the door had gaps around it so air blew in from outside. Older fixtures and bed wasn’t comfortable. Customer service was nonexistent. But I guess that’s what you get at a state park?

I was tired from hours of driving but the gentleman who greeted us was so personable that I felt revived and relaxed almost instantly. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The on site restaurant was nice and we really enjoyed our breakfast there. Generous portions, reasonably priced, and good service. The area is amazing.

The overall property was ok, internet access was spotty, food options were just ok. The staff was not very friendly at the restaurants or in the shops. The food took forever to come out. The air conditioning was out in the lodge so eating at the restaurants was quite uncomfortable in mid-summer. You can't beat this for convenience since you're right in the center of the park and very near the visitor center and lodge restaurants. However, the condition of the cabin left a little to be desired, with peeling paint and questionable alignment of the door lock. It should also be noted that parking was a short walk away. But all things considered, we would stay here again.

It’s steps away from the Mammoth Caves NP visitor center, which is fantastic! We got a room in the Sunset Terrace - the size was good, but very dated, specially the bathroom. Lots of food options at the Lodge, and the major trailheads are either walkable or really short drive.

It’s super convenient to stay overnight next to the visitor center after 10 plus hour driving. It’s clean, quiet and decently comfortable for a lodge. We see deer at the parking lot which delighted my daughter. Next morning we had breakfast at the lodge and ready for the cave tour!

Adorable little cottage 2-3 minutes walk from the main lodge and from the visitor center where tours start. Bed was super comfy, space was very clean, heater worked great. Lovely to walk outside to face the forest and hear the birds.

We enjoyed the convenience to the National Park. Dining options at the Lodge were limited with very little available for breakfast. The main dining room offered a nice selection and the staff was very friendly and attentive. There were hiking trails close by but signage was very limited and in poor condition.

This was perfect for us! The cabin was clean and comfortable! Having access to the lodge, dining and the visitors center was a big selling point. Not having WiFi and spotty internet was actually great for quieting our minds and slowing us down a bit. If you have kids, think about bringing some outdoor games and activities to stay busy. We used the dining options several times during our three night stay and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. We also enjoyed the quiet and darkness at night for star gazing!

Great NPS staff. Lodging staff very nice and helpful. The 10 white cabins are basic, old lumpy beds, but everything for a short stay. Set expectations accordingly. We are at the onsite restaurant for dinner and again for lunch the next day. Outstanding and reasonable. Mammoth Cave tours, facilities, grounds and people are first class. Enjoy!!

We were assigned one of the 10 smaller cottage houses. Very cute and quaint but definitely lacking amenities that some people might expect. It would be great if they had some low-level lighting for the walking path from the parking lot to the cottages. They had air-conditioners in the windows which helped to keep us cool. The bed was good...not terribly big though. The floor of the main living area was dirty...we noticed after having to wipe up a small mess. The bathroom was a bit run down and could have been updated a bit more. The location was great. We did a 4pm tour on our arrival night...and then we did an 11am tour on our departure day. Very nice not having to move our vehicle once we were parked and it was great when having to run over to Visitor Centre. I could not imagine having to find accommodations at Bowling Green or elsewhere.

We stayed at the Woodland Cottages for 2 days during our visit to Mammoth Caves. These little cottages are an absolute gem! They are rustic, minimalistic, not-quite camping accommodations that allow you to stay INSIDE Mammoth Cave National Park just a hop, skip, and a jump from the visitors center. I can’t believe I lucked out and was able to get one of these cabins considering how few of them there are on property. Check-in was easy, the cabins are quaint and cozy (we all slept like babies), and the aforementioned accessibility to the park itself for cave tours and hikes is second to only the newly built family cabins. The cabin comes with a mini fridge and a small AC, but the AC’s are underpowered and really didn’t do much to cool the cabin. Each cabin also has its own sink, toilet, and shower. We loved our stay in the Woodland Cottages and would hope to stay again in we ever return to the park.
