Comfy beds, clean sheets, super location, good size gym, safe and quiet despite being in the middle of time square

We had a fantastic time visiting New York, and the Westin was the perfect location—reasonably priced for the area. The doormen, security, and front desk staff were all excellent and very welcoming. That said, the rooms could use some updating, as ours had a bit of a worn-out look. One thing that surprised me was the $20 charge just to use the mini fridge—I’ve never encountered that at a hotel before, but maybe it’s a New York thing. The lobby was spacious, providing a great spot for our group to relax and regroup after our days out. We also enjoyed the $40 restaurant credit, which was a nice perk. Overall, despite the minor drawbacks, I would stay here again!

Very friendly staff. Restaurant has amazing food. Rooms were clean and stocked everyday. Security for the building checks hotel keys prior to entry after 10pm so that not just anyone can enter hotel area and access elevators, escalators. Front desk immediatley responded to a need I had. The concierge staff was friendly and very helpful. When I return to NYC, I will definitely stay at The Westin again.

We had a great time and the hotel was nice; however, they failed to tell us at check in that the card we put down for incidentals will ALSO be charged the Destination fees. They told us a total of $150 only…. Come to find out it was double that.

The rooms are spacious and clean, especially for midtown Manhattan. The best attribute of this property is the "perks" you receive for your resort fee. The $40 at the restaurant and the free boat tickets were great unexpected treats.

The check in was long. There’s not enough at the desk. The location is perfect! Rooms were clean and comfortable! I was surprised with no refrigerator. The bar/restaurant was fun and crowded every night! The staff was great! I would return

The Westin is undoubtedly in a great location. It is close to restaurants, Broadway, Times Square and you can easily catch a taxi or Uber right next to the hotel. The customer service is less than desirable, except for the bar, everyone at the restaurant bar was friendly and helpful. My hotel room bathroom's door didn't really close shut (it's a sliding door), the toilet flushed very loudly, like scary loud and all these were inconvenient since it was a shared room. The $40 resort fee is interesting. You can use the $20 of those, as far as I understood, in ways that they have predetermined, otherwise, they just keep it all. Which makes you question, what are they really for? Lastly, the manager at the bell desk, was extremely rude and unprofessional to the other workers who were just trying to do their job and help other customers. I would never want to work with that guy. He made it extremely uncomfortable and was the only on actually being unprofessional.

The showers needed cleaning — they had tile, and the grout was black with mold. Those areas need to be cleaned thoroughly. Every day there was some issue because they would forget to leave body wash or shampoo, and they wouldn’t leave enough towels for four people.

Room was clean and staff was attentive.

Overall out stay was great and the location was great! The entrance, lobby and rooms were clean. One small issue, there were 3 guests and only 2 sets of towels and no regrigerator. I had to ask twice, first time they forgot.

Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Had to call at 1 a m to complain about party next door. It was take care of.

There were leftover food from previous guests in the fridge. Fridge was moldy. We didn’t realize this until our last night. Bathroom had grimes. Housekeeping went in our room before 9am without knocking.

The Westin Times Square has a convenient location — close to Times Square, Penn Station, Broadway, and great restaurants — but the condition of the hotel and room was extremely disappointing. From the start, the room had a strong, unpleasant odor. The carbon monoxide detector kept chirping— not constantly, but loud and often enough to be disturbing. We had to open the window just to get it to stop, and the front desk response was simply, “If it goes off again, call us.” There was old food left in the beverage fridge, and the bed sheets had yellow stains that housekeeping missed twice before finally replacing them. The room phone didn’t work, and an engineer came up just to tell us to dial “0” because the system was outdated. We had to use our personal cell phones to call the front desk for any issues. The cleaning staff clearly doesn’t do a thorough job. From the fridge, to the stained sheets, to the general condition of the room, it was clear cleanliness wasn’t a priority. The lighting in the room was poor — and the only way to get decent light was to open the window, but that meant facing directly into nearby apartment buildings, which forced us to close the blinds again for privacy, bringing us right back to gloomy lighting. The wallpaper was peeling, the ceiling above the shower showed signs of water damage, and overall the room felt neglected and outdated. What I liked: location, bath tub What I did not like: Everything else. Dirty carpets, not enough lights in bathroom, no exhaust in bathroom, everything old. Very pricey for 5 star hotel. I would give 2.5 stars. It is worse than 3 stars hotel.

We must have gotten the worse room in the hotel. Bed squeaked every time you sat down or moved on it. Very low to the ground. Terrible pillows, bathroom not practical for daily use. Noisy - next to the elevator. We've stayed at this property many times over the years. I was our "go to" hotel in NYC. We probably won't be back. Area is very crowded.

We loved the location and amenities, restaurant, convenient store, and all other things they offered in the building. But the room was in terrible condition. THe furniture - the wood is peeling, broken, fridge was broken, closet door missing. It was in horrible shape. THey need to redo the room, paint, replace furniture , replace broken items

Location is great, very central to subway hub that will take you in any direction you want to go. It’s right near Times Square and the theatre district. The traditional room is clean but a little dated and some of the furniture is a worn but overall a great place to stay.

I chose this hotel for the two Queen beds rather than two double beds most hotels offer. The room was clean, beds comfortable, hotel was quiet, but it is rather old and a few things didn’t work. The mini fridge and safe were broken, the shower didn’t drain so you stood in almost a foot of water while you showered. The curtains and blackout shade were old and discolored and the paint on the walls were chipped. It’s been well used and shows it.

Great property close to most everything. Would definitely stay there again. Only downside is no free WiFi ($16/day) and you can definitely hear the outside noise.

Staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. Shout out to Eddie, Roger and the car service drivers. Excellent hotel, excellent location and excellent service.

They charge $40/day as Resort fees, to offer you 2 Tkts per day for various things like Liberty Cruise,Comedy Show,$ 20 credit for their F&B, upgrade to Premium internet...However, Concierge goes home at *5pm*. Front Desk informs you that your day 1 tkts will be added to day 2, however, when you go to pick up tickets on day2, So if you check in at 6pm, you pay $40mbut dont get the benefits, isnt that a RIPOFF ? The Concierge,i believe John was SO RUDE AND ARROGANT,that he says,once i go home,nobody gets the tickets and we will not give you day 1 tickets on day 2.AND i will NOT Inform the front desk to not misinform the guest. Seems Westin hasn't heard of the concept of Manager on Duty,Night Manager etc, where a MOD can hand over tickets etc. They want to collect Money/Fees, but not give you the promised Amenities/tickets, how is this even legal ? AND the Arrogance of the concierge needs to be seen,seems he feels,at any other place, the GM should write him up and take action and offer a apology to the guest and also refund the money, for the rudeness of the conceirge and also for not being able to honor the promise of delivering the promised tickets.Hope Marriott and the Owners take some action, The Curb between Times Square to the Westin literally smells of piss etc.Not Their fault.Premium www tech support also doesnt know that they have to give the passcodes because the guest are being charged $40, so people use unsecured internet in a Westin, Welcome2Westin.

Amazing stay! They accommodated beyond expectations, honestly the best check in we have ever had in our lifetime. On a whole other level. Pleasant overall and definitely stay again. Period. They let us check in really really early.

Services was horrible! Staff is very rude and one staff was arguing with another in front of everyone. Unacceptable!

Very good hotel, well located. Service at front desk is not at Westin level. Smell in the lobby is not great. Definetely something to do to improve the quality but good choice overall and clean.

Check in took almost an hour due to a long line and complications with room availability. The hotel didn’t have the room type we booked and we were instead given two rooms on floor 9 (I think it was 9th) which appeared to be a deserted, creepy, unrenovated floor with mostly conference rooms. We have stayed at the Westin Times Square before so immediately knew this was not one of their regular rooms. After another lengthy wait we were given two other rooms. We were told we would not pay extra for the additional room since the change was due to a mistake the hotel made, however, I had to visit the front desk twice due to them charging extra for the ‘free’ room they gave us. I do not know if the charges have been taken care of as the email receipt I received after my second attempt was still incorrect. Very disappointing and we will not return.

Loved everything about the property except the people at the check-in . The bell men, bar staff were amazing but everyone I encountered at the check-in desk was rude.

No towels in room, when I asked for the towels no one brought them. Went down the following morning to ask and they said they would have someone bring them upstairs and then argued with my over two towels. When I actually got into the shower, there was no soap. I called the front desk to request to speak with the manager in which she was busy and never called me back. Very disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay! Valet and Bell Service staff was amazing, check-in process was smooth and accomodating, rooms were very clean and bed the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in!

Perfect location to stay for my first NYC trip. It was close enough to Times Square and wasn’t noisy at all. I always felt safe walking to and from the hotel. Great restaurants and tons of sites were within walking distance. Highly recommend!

Excellent ubication, as the pictures show, super clean and welcoming service!

Everything went smoothly here. Beds were nice. Could have been quieter but it is Times Sqaure. We got there early but were still able to check in so that was nice. It's super close to everything including subway stations. The only thing that could have been better is the water pressure in the shower. Overall outstanding.

We loved how close the Subway and Bus station was to the hotel. It was also so close to food, Broadway shows and shopping. We loved the ease of going in and out throughout the day. This was our first NYC experience. I would highly recommend this location.

This is my second visit to The Westin at Times Square. Everything was satisfactory. The hotel is conveniently located near Times Square. The staff were all very welcoming. If needed, you can request a microwave or refrigerator. The hotel is situated very near the 42nd Street subway station, and there are two Jollibee restaurants within walking distance for Filipino guests.

The front desk was so friendly. Our requests were accommodated promptly. We enjoyed our food at the Foundry restaurant and the breakfast offerings were quite vast.

The Westin Times Square is a hidden gem, alittle further out from Times sqaure but close enough to hit all the major attratctions. Safe, clean and staff helpful. The Breakfast is a bit pricey if you dont have vouchers but a good buffet.

All staff were very accommodating. Room was clean and breakfast was excellent.

Great location, pretty large rooms. However, You had to wait in line for breakfast.

The staff were helpful. The bed mattress in my room was lumpy. Needs new mattress. My roommate had newer mattress. Room service ridiculously overpriced. Charged $30 for two cups of coffee brought up by room service one evening and on another evening charged $28 for one slice of cheesecake.

Stayed at The Westin New York at Times Square with friends to enjoy Christmas-time in NYC. The hotel was very clean, staff were courteous, and the breakfast was great. I paid extra to have the daily breakfast included in my stay, and it was well worth the expense. There is also a really nice cafe just around the corner from the entrance, for those who want options for breakfast.
