We decided to spend a bit more money and stay here because we were coming to Rapid for a concert at the Monument. When we arrived, the two front desk staff were incredibly rude. Apparently when you spend 300 bucks for a hotel room at this hotel, you are not guaranteed a parking spot. Due to weddings and the concert at the event center, we were told that if we wanted to have a parking spot, we should not leave the hotel for dinner because we likely won't be getting a parking spot overnight. That's absolutely unacceptable. We did decide to stay and eat there and the bartender was also incredibly rude when we tried asking if there was a wait to get a table. She raised her eyebrows and pointed to a couple of tables in the bar area and made a snarky comment about seeing some tables open. Our waiter was somewhat better but the staff here really set our enjoyable evening off to a terrible start.

Folks, people/corporations these days, in this economy, are nickel and diming people to death. I recently took my wife to stay at the Hilton on 5th in Rapid City SD, for her birthday. The bathroom sink was plugged up and would not drain, an amenity in the room (a friggen bottle of water) was $5, there was a surprise charge of $15 for one nights worth of parking, the desk guy I just got off the phone, claims, that this was listed on the App and online. Who gives a damn, $15 dollars per night, and $5 for a bottle of water, you have got to be kidding me right? This is South Dakota, not overpriced Vegas…. These charges are taken off your card immediately, but when you ask when you get the remainder of your deposit back, they respond 3-5 days, and when you complain about it, they blame it on your credit card company. DO NOT STAY HERE GUYS, the only thing good about this place was the Golden Bison, great service & friendly staff.
