Loved the room, decor, bar, lounges, location, neat there's an arcade. Would be a good place for a big party, for some reason there is bowling and mini golf. Great breakfast. The pool is weird, in a glass fishbowl with dry lounges surrounding and locked showers on a separate floor, not really appealing or accessible. The fitness centre is extensive and impressive, seems new. Overall a lovely time.

Property is good, but elevators by the entrance were poor; one not working at all the I almost was trapped in the other one (was out of order the next morning). If you didn't know there were more elevators you would have needed to take the stairs

The location is excellent if you're wanting to be in the downtown core. Parking availability at the hotel was an important factor for me and their parking price was affordable. Only thing that threw me off was the lack of a second glass shower door. Water was spraying out onto floor and wall. Cool recreation spot in basement with bowling, Mini putting and arcade. Indoor pool was clean. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was a great price. Rooms where clean. The recreation centre is a little outdated and needs some work but otherwise it was fine. They should look at getting a hot tub!!!!

The elevator was a little bit of a concern, and we did use the stairs a few times due to our concerns about the reliability of the elevator. Otherwise the stay was comfortable.

It was close to the downtown so a ten minute walk takes youto some great restaurants! It also has a play area that includes bowling, mini golf, ping pong and some video games. The pool was nice as well.

I was originally attracted to the bowling and arcade entertainment but the arcade is very run down. Many of the machines do not work. I know it is run by a third party, but please don’t advertise something that you don’t have quality control over if it’s going to be a huge disappointment. The restaurant breakfast buffet is reasonably priced with lots of nice options like an omelet station and fresh crepes. The staff was really nice and helpful.

Overall, a positive stay. There were a couple of places where service was a bit slow or seemed to not quite know what they were doing, but they might have been new / training and, in any case, the service was pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. Only criticism is that the shower was great on the first day but, second day of our stay, it seemed just not to quite warm up and was lukewarm. The hallways looked a bit tired: carpet seemed a bit worn and quite outdated, there was something broken causing a leak and bubbling in the wallpaper at one part of the hallway. Things break down, obviously, so may have just happened and they were waiting on repair, but it did still affect the overall "feel" of the place. Lobby, bar, and restaurant were all quite nice, spacious, and updated. The hotel is located right downtown and close to lots of restaurants, cafes, shopping, etc. It is downtown so certainly 3-4 people in the vicinity visibly using drugs but it never felt unsafe. The hotel also has some unique amenities on site, including an arcade, a two-lane bowling alley, and a (somewhat sad) mini-putt, all that would make it a good stay for families with younger kids. I thought it was odd that the person who checked us in did not mention any of this, though perhaps it is because we did not have kids with us. Would stay here again.

The carpet in our room was ripped and the shower had what looked like black mould and very dirty/calcuim buildnup on the shower heads. I asked for a safety pin or sewing kit because i had a wardrobe malfunction and they didnt have anything, even for sale. Id expect better attention to those details for the price point.

Super clean rooms! Probably one of the best I’ve seen! Front desk staff friendly. Parking convenient. A lot of dining options around including in hotel itself. Walkable to lots of amenities. Nice hotel!

The bathroom was the size of a postage stamp. It didn't have a fan. There wasn't any place to hang towels so that they would dry by the next morning. The electrical outlets were across from the mirror and my curling iron would not stay plugged in the outlet. The counter was so small there was hardly any room to set my curling iron down if I had been able to use the plug in the bathroom. The fridge froze our drinks. I also felt the room could have used better lighting. The beds were very comfortable.

Clean room only the heat was not working they had not winterized the heat function yet so we got a little heater to keep us warm. Also there were a large group of parents with kids for their hockey tournament who were very roudy and played hockey in the hall way till almost 10pm. Until quite a few guest complained. Otherwise our stay was good.

The parking was a nightmare and there were lots of people without spaces. When I finally settled in the room the wifi wouldn’t load or was so slow from overuse that I couldn’t use it.

The parking lot was not attached to the hotel and was a fairly long walk with our bags through multiple doors without automatic entry and and stairs before we got to the elevator. The WIFI was unreliable, it kept logging us out.

I have stayed here a number of times due to the convenient location and reasonable pricing. Sadly the last couple of times the rooms weren't very clean (hair in the shower, broken toilet paper holder and dirty bathroom floor) and it was incredibly noisy in the hallways since they serve sports teams. I do like the little touches like infused water in the lobby and friendly people at the front desk.

This hotel boasts probably the largest gym I have ever seen in a hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the hotel was clean. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Kitchener.

didn’t even get to check in because even tho expedia said 18 for check in they said 21+ and now i have no where to sleep after driving 5 hours to get here. be and 4 other people are now forced to sleep in our car in a sketchy parking lot downtown waterloo. and they are being difficult about giving us a refund. expedia do better

The hotel was amazing staff went on and above . Very friendly. Only bad thing I have to say is getting into the front entrance was a little challenging. But other than that this is one of the nicest and friendliness and cleanest holiday inn I have stayed in.

We had an amazing stay. The staff was terrific especially Carol in the dining room. The breakfast buffet is definitely worth buying. The service was terrific! The breakfast buffet had such wonderful and delicious options. The hotel is very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel was very quiet. We highly, highly recommend anyone staying here!!

Chose to have our wedding here based on lobby and ballroom appearance - huge mistake. The majority of the staff are terrible and have no place in hospitality (unfortunate for the few good staff). The entire process was painful and they lied to us 3 weeks before our wedding that we could no longer use the room we had booked for our wedding due to “AC Repairs” and had to move it to a different space - only to see it being used in the morning for a separate event! We had already sent out the invites otherwise I would’ve asked for a refund and backed out in the early stages. I also punctured my toe on something in the carpet (assuming staple but didn’t stay to find out) the night before the wedding and they asked if I wanted a refund and a new room. I said yes to refund and moved to another room that I had already PAID for. Fast forward a few weeks and I follow up on refund - they refuse because they closed the incident report when they “found nothing wrong with the room” and because they asked my fiancée if I was “ok” and he said “yes!” (as in not mortally wounded). Chose to have our wedding here based on lobby and ballroom appearance - huge mistake. The majority of the staff are terrible and have no place in hospitality (unfortunate for the few good staff). The entire process was painful and they lied to us 3 weeks before our wedding that we could no longer use the room we had booked for our wedding due to “AC Repairs” and had to move it to a different space - only to see it being used in the morning for a separate event! We had already sent out the invites otherwise I would’ve asked for a refund and backed out in the early stages. I also punctured my toe on something in the carpet (assuming staple but didn’t stay to find out) the night before the wedding and they asked if I wanted a refund and a new room. I said yes to refund and moved to another room that I had already PAID for. Fast forward a few weeks and I follow up on refund - they refuse because they closed the incident report when they “found nothing wrong with the room” and because they asked my fiancée if I was “ok” and he said “yes!” (as in not mortally wounded). We stayed here on March 13, 2025. Check in was super easy, the room was comfortable and very clean. We asked staff about the safety to walk to Centre in the Square and got a basic answer, "Well we are downtown" but we did walk. First to the Three Kretans for a wonderful Greek meal (7 min walk) and then onto The Centre in the Square (another 7 minutes) We didn't have any issue walking as there were many theatre-goers out and about. We had an issue with the plumbing, but someone came up and took care of it within 5 minutes. We will definitely stay here again when we go to The Centre in the Square.

Great location. Clean and very friendly staff. Lobby and main areas modern and bright, the rooms are in good condition with comfy beds. Price was about right(we booked at a discount through app). Regular rates would feel slightly overpriced to me. Did not eat in the restaurant but it looked busy, so I’m assuming it’s ok. Would stay there again.

We stayed at this local Waterloo hotel during our recent visit to the area during our vacation. The hotel is a bit older, but nicely renovated. Close to restaurants and shops. The full time bartender was phenomenal! He went out of his way to provide us with excellent service, especially during the weekday happy hour. Reasonable price and good hotel restaurant food. We would likely stay here again if ever in the area.

The facility was great but showing its age . I’m sure when this was new it was top of the line. Our room was nice but we had to have the carpet vacuumed. I was surprised that a cleaning lady in the room next to ours refused to vacuum it . I had to call the front desk . Got it done eventually. We stayed in a suite and it was spacious . Breakfast was the best we have had at a hotel . The hotel can use some updates and it would be immaculate again . I hope they do spend some money and get it back to glory . Overall we were very satisfied.

Hotel room was very dated. Shower water pressure and temperature were extremely bad as it changes when you turn on and off sink faucet. Bathroom is small so door bangs into person using the sink. Staff was good overall. Would not stay there again.
