Great staff and variety of quality food choices. We really enjoyed our 2 hr snorkelling trip off of the beach. The beach itself is nice for walking ,but expect some salespeople to interrupt you and a fair bit of seaweed in the water. The pools were perfect though for us and our teenagers. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at Whitesands.

Beautiful hotel, well maintained with plenty of areas where you can relax and enjoy a nice breeze! Staff was friendly and courteous. Special thanks to Nelson at the reception who changed my room to sea view, to Bernard at the restaurant and to Ruth at the Tullia spa who restored my back thanks to her divine hands.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel - the food is excellent, the property is wonderful, and there are lots of pools across the hotel- including an adult only one. The only downside is that the beach is not clean - there's lots and lots of seaweed all around which if cleaned up would make a big difference

Had an excellent stay at Whitesands! Property has been impeccably maintained, food was excellent as always with lots of variety, and especially loved the daytime food stations that are always fresh and hot. Lots of activities for everyone especially the kids, decent but small gym, lots of pools, and very friendly staff. I had one issue that was promptly addressed. A !

The rooms were always clean and no request was too much for them. There was also someone who would come during breakfast to inquire whether our room had any issues, which would then be quickly resolved The food was excellent, and the food and ice cream stalls during the day were very helpful. We had a lot of fun here and it honestly was the best resort we’ve ever stayed in. There was always an event and the new years celebration was absolutely fantastic. Missing the experience already

This is our second time to stay at this hotel. Check in was very smooth and straightforward. The breakfast and dinner was full of variety and all tasted fresh. The five swimmming pools were clean and lifeguards on attendance at aĺl times. The pool staff especially Justus,were friendly and approachable. A few of the dinner staff could do with a refresher on customer service but most were helpful. It would be better to open the drinks at the table, you can then be confident that it is freshly opened.The animations team tried hard! The drink choices at the bars was vast with Eric at the Lido bar deserving a special mention on his knowledge. We would recommend this hotel for all types of groups.

Sarova Whitesands is an excellent facility with one of the best beaches in the world. This was our second consecutive stay at the hotel. We loved it so much last year that we returned this summer and stayed for six days and we could have stayed longer. The staff is professional, courteous and responsive to requests. The food is delicious. The variety of pools provides options for children and adults and the rooms are well serviced. I used the Ozone children’s club for my son and the spa and I would give both a 5 star rating. We will be back!!!

Very nice hotel, we will come again for sure!!! Safe, nice place, nice and clean rooms, wifi works perfect (fast enough even for a video stream and facetime calls, no problems), great food (we recommend all inclusive = includes also number of drinks) and really great hotel staff: very nice, communicative, friendly, all speak very good english. ESPECIALLY MRS. JOYCE FROM COCO BAR DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB!!!

We had an excellent stay at Sarova Whitesands Hotel! The service truly feels 5-star – every staff member was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choice, and I really enjoyed that they serve tea and snacks at 4pm, which was a lovely touch. The rooms were very comfortable, stocked with towels, bottled water, tea, coffee, and all the basics. The beds and pillows were super comfy, and the views from the hotel are absolutely beautiful. There are 5 excellent pools to enjoy, each with a different vibe, and the security around the hotel is very reassuring. The beach itself has lovely soft white sand, but there was quite a lot of seaweed in the water which made swimming a little less enjoyable. I didn’t even realise there was a games room until the end of my stay – a great bonus for families or longer visits. I only stayed 2 nights this time, but next time I’d definitely stay longer so I can explore everything properly. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!

The staff were outstanding. Had the best massage I have ever had at the Spa. The food was better than we have had elsewhere in Africa. The property itself was beautiful and well taken care of! The security was top notch ! However, there were bugs in the room. My friend was completely eaten up with bug bites!!! Our room location was not what was touted to be. The swimming and beach were an utter disappointment. At low tide it smelled and you couldn’t swim.

The hotel is really lovely. The buildings and grounds are very well maintained. It is on the beach. There are 4 swimming pools, beautifully clean and the water is perfect. Breakfast is delicious with many options. Dinner also has many options including a seafood restaurant. Fir me the dinner food is not quite right. Vegetarian is the best choice. Though there's ice-cream. Room was beautiful and well cleaned, if late in the day. Pick up worked well.overal, great

Jacqueline was awesome! She changed our ground floor room to the 2nd floor for a better view of the ocean. Timothy (at lido bar) went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our stay as usual and will be back soon.

It would be absurd to take a trip to the tropics without heading downwards to the coast. The myth and legacy of Mombasa is also too tempting to not indulge into. Mombasa has several beautiful beaches that are popular destinations for sun-bathing, swimming, walking or just relaxing. Nyali and Bamburi beaches are two fantastic choices with fine hotels and eateries along the shore. For me it´s of great sentimental value to pass by Whitesands, stayed there for film shoots when we were shooting Fanta Commercials at Bamburi Beach and stayed there with the kids when they were small, after a safari. Hotel looks the same - a bit outdated interior wise, but updated and modernised slightly in their rooms, but what makes it is the location. The view from 1st floor over the green patio and the beach is pure magic. Ling swanky palmtrees, beautiful sand, a nice tide, and a nice upgraded Lido Beach Bar that serves both people in the pool as well as in the restaurant. Paulette was very professional there, and deserves praise. She will reach management positions. Also, Karlyne, in the bar, was delivering service at the highest standard, mixing cocktails several times for me, always knowledgeable and very professional. It would be absurd to take a trip to the tropics without heading downwards to the coast. The myth and legacy of Mombasa is also too tempting to not indulge into. Mombasa has several beautiful beaches that are popular destinations for sun-bathing, swimming, walking or just relaxing. Nyali and Bamburi beaches are two fantastic choices with fine hotels and eateries along the shore. For me it´s of great sentimental value to pass by Whitesands, stayed there for film shoots when we were shooting Fanta Commercials at Bamburi Beach and stayed there with the kids when they were small, after a safari. Hotel looks the same - a bit outdated interior wise, but updated and modernised slightly in their rooms, but what makes it is the location. The view from 1st floor over the green patio and the beach is pure magic. Ling swanky palmtrees, beautiful sand, a nice tide, and a nice upgraded Lido Beach Bar that serves both people in the pool as well as in the restaurant. Paulette was very professional there, and deserves praise. She will reach management positions. Also, Karlyne, in the bar, was delivering service at the highest standard, mixing cocktails several times for me, always knowledgeable and very professional. The room was very comfortable. When we first got there the air conditioning was stuck on very cold. The came and replace the thermostat and all was perfect. Very clean quiet rooms. Nice beds. A great place to stay

Very nice hotel, we will come again for sure!!! Safe, nice place, nice and clean rooms, wifi works perfect (fast enough even for a video stream and facetime calls, no problems), great food (we recommend all inclusive = includes also number of drinks) and really great hotel staff: very nice, communicative, friendly, all speak very good english. ESPECIALLY MRS. JOYCE FROM COCO BAR DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB!!!

We had an excellent stay at Sarova Whitesands Hotel! The service truly feels 5-star – every staff member was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choice, and I really enjoyed that they serve tea and snacks at 4pm, which was a lovely touch. The rooms were very comfortable, stocked with towels, bottled water, tea, coffee, and all the basics. The beds and pillows were super comfy, and the views from the hotel are absolutely beautiful. There are 5 excellent pools to enjoy, each with a different vibe, and the security around the hotel is very reassuring. The beach itself has lovely soft white sand, but there was quite a lot of seaweed in the water which made swimming a little less enjoyable. I didn’t even realise there was a games room until the end of my stay – a great bonus for families or longer visits. I only stayed 2 nights this time, but next time I’d definitely stay longer so I can explore everything properly. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!

Overall stay excellent however I can't recommend because of the way I was treated by hotel security, that also involved Kenyan police for taking video & photography. I inquired & was told upon arrival feel free to take content. Only days later to be singled out & questioned who gave me permission. Security stated guess complaints of me taking their images & security concerns. Both unfounded & lies. From demands to view my content no such photos or videos found. About security, as a visitor who came in peace, meaning no harm. How would I know their security concerns? To cover their error I was ask to delete 2 videos. One from my room view of ocean, that had a entrance from the beach. How would I know that concern? And I am sure hundreds have taken same view. It's their job to mitigate security concerns. And not by harassing guest. Any person wishing to do harm will be more covert. There are many ways to secure images without being noticed. The other video demanded to be deleted was the one I took of security guard. I had plan to bring this matter to the attention of management & want to show who it was. Had he not approached me no recording would have been taken. Being falsely accused, I am stopped from leaving & treated liked a criminal & being embarrassed at front exit. With 3 security persons and 2 Kenyan police for taking videos. The trauma of this experience has caused me to not rest well. I will not return there & advise friends & family not to as well. Exp. ruined!

The property was great and will be great for family vacations. Apart from the hiccup at check-in the staff were generally pleasant. Special shout to Winnie from my group. Can’t really remember her name but starts with an ‘N’ from housekeeping did check-up again to make sure everything was ok. Thanks for the fruits too…

The rooms were always clean and no request was too much for them. There was also someone who would come during breakfast to inquire whether our room had any issues, which would then be quickly resolved The food was excellent, and the food and ice cream stalls during the day were very helpful. We had a lot of fun here and it honestly was the best resort we’ve ever stayed in. There was always an event and the new years celebration was absolutely fantastic. Missing the experience already

So upon our arrival we were greates with delicious drinks and had a nice check. We are upgraded so the room was immaculate. The staff was very nice and attentive and the food that everyone mention was spot on. Now the reason i am giving this place 1 star is on our second night we notice one of the officers in fatigue outfits holding the large gun being very creepy and disturbing the women on the property. My wife went to the washroom where she was whistled at by one of them. This was Friday aug. 15th a lottle after 9pm. When my wife informed me i calmly approached them to assess the situation and was responded with shut up American the hotel cannot save you if we decide to arrest you. At that point with them holding Ak-47's in another country i really could not do much. One of them was extremely aggressive which i also noticed he had predatory eyes if this makes sense. As a lawyer i have to read people very well and i can see the sexual predatory look. For that reason my wife did not feel safe i spoke with a couple guest who also said there wives did not feel safe with those two men. This is a very serious accusation that should be delt with in house I strongly do recommend any guest staying there until that man is relieved from his job. I will also follow up with corporate until this sexual predator is fired.

Great staff and variety of quality food choices. We really enjoyed our 2 hr snorkelling trip off of the beach. The beach itself is nice for walking ,but expect some salespeople to interrupt you and a fair bit of seaweed in the water. The pools were perfect though for us and our teenagers. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at Whitesands.

The hotel is really lovely. The buildings and grounds are very well maintained. It is on the beach. There are 4 swimming pools, beautifully clean and the water is perfect. Breakfast is delicious with many options. Dinner also has many options including a seafood restaurant. Fir me the dinner food is not quite right. Vegetarian is the best choice. Though there's ice-cream. Room was beautiful and well cleaned, if late in the day. Pick up worked well.overal, great

Hotellet er førsteklasses, beliggeheten er topp, bare en halvtime fra flyplassen (litt lettere tilgjengelig enn Diani-stranden), flotte korallrev rett utenfor, havfiske og ikke så mange masete folk på stranden. Stille, beskyttede områder der man kan ligge under palmene og skue utover havet og se skipene gå ut og inn av Mombasa havn. Flott å bade ved høyvann, ved lavvann kan man gå ut og se på gullfisker og koraller, og gjerne snorkle. Bevæpnede soldater patruljerer området, det gir en følelse av trygghet, men gir samtidig en påminnelse om hvor usikker verden har blitt. Denne gangen fikk oppholdet en litt uheldig start, da hotellbilen ikke kom og hentet meg som avtalt (derav redusert service-karakter), men etteravtale med hotellet tok jeg en vanlig taxi og det gikk helt greit. Uber er også et godt og rimeligere alternativ. Var der første gang på 1980-tallet, og kommer sikkert tilbake.

Lovely facilities, very clean rooms. Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. Dinner options on the first night buffet were fantastic - seafood galore! Saturday breakfast with bubbles was a nice touch. As the week progressed the food quality and options became much the same fare with small pockets of variation. The fruit selection for breakfast was wonderful but management need to make it more accessible to multiple guests at a time as waiting and pushing in became an exhausting problem. The plastic sunbeds along the seafront need to be updated, the Lamu style beds in the seafront are a big hit. Having single beds would help with overall availability for guests, especially when busy. Great hotel and a fantastic stay.

Saturday breakfast with bubbles was a nice touch. As the week progressed the food quality and options became much the same fare with small pockets of variation. The fruit selection for breakfast was wonderful but management need to make it more accessible to multiple guests at a time as waiting and pushing in became an exhausting problem. The plastic sunbeds along the seafront need to be updated, the Lamu style beds in the seafront are a big hit. Having single beds would help with overall availability for guests, especially when busy. Great hotel and a fantastic stay.

My 3rd visit, and it is now hard to envisage going anywhere else. It really is close to perfection. The facilities are exceptional, the staff equally so. So friendly (and genuinely, you dont get the impression they are told to be so) the restaurants are excellent with a huge variety every day. The rooms are excellent and the beaches are unreal.

Wonderful facilities, beautiful views, very well maintained. Lots of space and room to enjoy and relax. Poor standards of service in all restaurants apart from some excellent staff like James (total star), Catherine and Joel. Food below average.

The hotel is really lovely. The buildings and grounds are very well maintained. It is on the beach. There are 4 swimming pools, beautifully clean and the water is perfect. Breakfast is delicious with many options. Dinner also has many options including a seafood restaurant. Fir me the dinner food is not quite right. Vegetarian is the best choice. Though there's ice-cream. Room was beautiful and well cleaned, if late in the day. Pick up worked well.overal, great

The rooms were always clean and no request was too much for them. There was also someone who would come during breakfast to inquire whether our room had any issues, which would then be quickly resolved The food was excellent, and the food and ice cream stalls during the day were very helpful. We had a lot of fun here and it honestly was the best resort we’ve ever stayed in. There was always an event and the new years celebration was absolutely fantastic. Missing the experience already

This is our second time to stay at this hotel. Check in was very smooth and straightforward. The breakfast and dinner was full of variety and all tasted fresh. The five swimmming pools were clean and lifeguards on attendance at aĺl times. The pool staff especially Justus,were friendly and approachable. A few of the dinner staff could do with a refresher on customer service but most were helpful. It would be better to open the drinks at the table, you can then be confident that it is freshly opened.The animations team tried hard! The drink choices at the bars was vast with Eric at the Lido bar deserving a special mention on his knowledge. We would recommend this hotel for all types of groups.

We had an excellent stay at Sarova Whitesands Hotel! The service truly feels 5-star – every staff member was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choice, and I really enjoyed that they serve tea and snacks at 4pm, which was a lovely touch. The rooms were very comfortable, stocked with towels, bottled water, tea, coffee, and all the basics. The beds and pillows were super comfy, and the views from the hotel are absolutely beautiful. There are 5 excellent pools to enjoy, each with a different vibe, and the security around the hotel is very reassuring. The beach itself has lovely soft white sand, but there was quite a lot of seaweed in the water which made swimming a little less enjoyable. I didn’t even realise there was a games room until the end of my stay – a great bonus for families or longer visits. I only stayed 2 nights this time, but next time I’d definitely stay longer so I can explore everything properly. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!

Good hotel right on the beach, with a varied setup of different pools, 4 restaurants and a beach bar called Coco's. Stayed for 8 nights. Good service standards throughout, but the all the staff at Coco's were particularly great. Will absolutely consider going back. Only slight downside is there are very few restaurants in the near area outside the hotel itself. For that, a quick and cheap Uber ride on the terrible gravel dirt road over to Nyali is recommended.

We had a great stay at Whitesands! I have been many times and it never disappoints. Great to see the upgrades to the hotel. The room was very comfortable, the amenities were fantastic, and the food was great as always. The kids loved the kids club and all the staff were so attentive to them - definitely a great place for kids. We will be back!

This is a beautiful sprawling property right along the beach. My room was clean and comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and helpful when needed. The dinner and breakfast buffets are excellent and sumptuous with a wide variety of choices (minus the monkey stealing the apple from my breakfast plate). This is a place worth staying in and coming back to.

First and foremost I would like to thank Lucy and her team for an excellent stay! We faced some challenges, however Lucy went out of her way to ensure all was up to par and truly made it seamless! The resort was absolutely stunning! The staff made it feel like home and Lucu was the cherry on top! Due to her, our trip was incredible and I cannot thank her and the team enough! Highly recommend the place!
