What we liked was the food, the comfort and the staff. The dining room was clean and comfortable as was the bar area. Our room was clean and comfortable. We didn’t like that the carpet in public areas, except the bar area, was old, stained and needs replacing. The lift is antiquated. But there was nothing that would put us off from staying again.

My room was on the highest level of the hotel, and the view over the river and area was scenic and pastoral.The room amenities were satisfactory and the bed was comfortable. The vintage lift was fun to use.

Best curry I’ve ever had. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Great locations and really easily accessible. Parking is a little tricky as it’s a very popular venue and I can see why. Food is incredible. Thanks for a fantastic stay.. I’ll be back next year! Thank you!

The bar and restaurant staff were wonderful. Very helpful and accommodating. The hotel overlooks the river and has wonderful mountain views. Located in the heart of Killin.

Lovely relaxing few days away, staff are always so friendly and always asking if we needed anything. The thing we love about this hotel is how dog friendly they are, dogs are welcome everywhere apart from the dining room but they have a lounge area set up with tables for dinner where the dogs are allowed in. There was a little dog bed and a small bowl in the room with a few dog biscuits. Food was amazing as usual. We will def be back again 😀

They were short staffed so the check in process took a long time. The parking space is not very large so finding parking was tricky but doable. The location was beautiful and overall clean and comfortable.

Clean and tidy although a little tired. Well situated for walks. Friendly helpful staff who would benefit from some more training. Food was good on most nights, but there are no light bites at the bar. More choice on the menu would be appreciated when staying for more than a couple of days. Our biggest complaint is that there's no hot water before 7.30 am when the boiler fires up and NO it's not acceptable to wash shave and shower in lukewarm water

Killin Hotel was a nice place to stay. In a most stunning location. Just the fact you have to book a table to eat was a problem. I booked the room at 5 in the afternoon. When I got there at 6 I was told I couldn't eat because I hadn't booked a table. Then asked if I could eat food in my room instead and was told No. They did eventually make a plan For me wich I appreciated. I understand the hotel restaurant serves the locals and outside visitors aswell. But I would suggest keeping some tables open for late check ins. Also restaurant only had 2 staff serving bar and tables. Guests were queing at the bar only to be ignored by the staff behind the bar pouring drinks for table guests. They could work on there customer service. Just a smile and ill be with you in a moment would have been better than been unacknowledged and ignored. Other than that the room was very comfortable and house keeping do a great job at keeping them clean. Thank you for having me. Hope next time food and drinks service will be better.

The room was clean and comfortable. The food was fantastic. The staff were wonderful. The Abba night was great fun. The only downside was the bar not opening on the Saturday till 3pm.

Very dirty, front staff was not pleasant/helpful at all! Food was disgusting and way OVER priced. Rooms were small and the beds were hard as a rock. It was so noisy in early morning 6:46 dumping trash/bottles outside!

Overnight stay en route home. Room was well presented, clean and tidy. Three spoilers, 1 stairs and landings looked as though they hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. 2 Fire alarm (false alarm) went off at 00.20 and other guest said this was a regular occurrence. 3 No hot water in bathroom no matter how long I let the tap run. Food and service were excellent.

We were travelling as a couple with our adult daughter. The location is fabulous. The room was lovely but there was only two cups and two glasses despite booking for three, and no teaspoon. The sofa bed my daughter slep on was great however the main bed was not very comfortable and offered no support. The room was also unbearably hot overnight. We booked for breakfast which was on the whole very tasty however they had run out of tomatoes, my daughter and me had about a tablespoon of baked beans, my husband got none and I only had a half a rasher of bacon so I get the impression tomatoes weren't the only thing in short supply this morning.

Great location. All staff we interacted with were friendly and so helpful. The person on reception seamed to be doing the job of 3 people when we arrived, but she was still so lovely and couldnt do enough for us. We stayed in the annex family room with our 8 month old as we thought that would help with noise. Unfortunately every floorboard creaked, the bed was incredibly squeaky, and the bathroom door needed a lot of WD40. Worth keeping in mind if travelling with a baby. Could do with a little refresh but was clean nonetheless.

Arrived to be ignored by the receptionist Receptionist very poor and needs better training When she did check me in I was given room 47 Window was 2 floors up a skylight so no way of opening it and no air con Hard sell on dinner and breakfast and due to this I ate elsewhere Bed and room was clean

Staff very friendly however room given (annex 5) VERY noisy. Next to fans and area where glass bins are for the bar etc. Walls paper thin and floors squakiest i've ever heard. Unfortunately, you will hear every conversation upstairs guests and those through the wall have.

Lovely outlook by the river in a small village. Attentive staff . Good food . Had a single room which had no window- only a skylight. No ventilation - room very stuffy. Bathroom lovely decor but shower cubicle very small . A larger person(I’m a size 10) would struggle to close the cubicle door.However enjoyed my stay apart from that .

Arrived to be ignored by the receptionist Receptionist very poor and needs better training When she did check me in I was given room 47 Window was 2 floors up a skylight so no way of opening it and no air con Hard sell on dinner and breakfast and due to this I ate elsewhere Bed and room was clean

Lovely relaxing few days away, staff are always so friendly and always asking if we needed anything. The thing we love about this hotel is how dog friendly they are, dogs are welcome everywhere apart from the dining room but they have a lounge area set up with tables for dinner where the dogs are allowed in. There was a little dog bed and a small bowl in the room with a few dog biscuits. Food was amazing as usual. We will def be back again 😀

We had booked a room with two twin beds, but upon arrival we were given a room with one double bed. We ask the receptionist if the room could be reconfigured and she said it would be fixed by housekeeping right away. We returned from our evening out at 10pm to find the room had not been reconfigured. We called the front desk with no answer. We asked at the bar looking for someone to help and eventually a staff member emerged from the bar and offered us another room on a different floor so we had to pack up and move rooms. Inconvenient and disappointing. Would otherwise have been a pleasant stay.

They were short staffed so the check in process took a long time. The parking space is not very large so finding parking was tricky but doable. The location was beautiful and overall clean and comfortable.

Receptionists on arrival and departure very obliging and helpful giving my wife and I an upgraded room as there was one available. All staff polite and made sure all was to our satisfaction. Dinner menu was such that there was a good choice, all reasonably priced and cooked / presented to a high standard. Likewise for breakfast. Good touring base and would recommend.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Killin Hotel on route to the Highlands. Super friendly staff who were all helpful. Nice atmosphere. Good evening meals. We had one double room which was good and a single room which was a bit basic but clean + tidy. A good place to stay.

Perfect location with a half mile walk along an old railway line to the spectacular Dochart Waterfall. Cosy pub downstairs in hotel. Good beer. Little nose disturbance from other guests

The bar and restaurant staff were wonderful. Very helpful and accommodating. The hotel overlooks the river and has wonderful mountain views. Located in the heart of Killin.

Best curry I’ve ever had. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Great locations and really easily accessible. Parking is a little tricky as it’s a very popular venue and I can see why. Food is incredible. Thanks for a fantastic stay.. I’ll be back next year! Thank you!

Killin Hotel was a nice place to stay. In a most stunning location. Just the fact you have to book a table to eat was a problem. I booked the room at 5 in the afternoon. When I got there at 6 I was told I couldn't eat because I hadn't booked a table. Then asked if I could eat food in my room instead and was told No. They did eventually make a plan For me wich I appreciated. I understand the hotel restaurant serves the locals and outside visitors aswell. But I would suggest keeping some tables open for late check ins. Also restaurant only had 2 staff serving bar and tables. Guests were queing at the bar only to be ignored by the staff behind the bar pouring drinks for table guests. They could work on there customer service. Just a smile and ill be with you in a moment would have been better than been unacknowledged and ignored. Other than that the room was very comfortable and house keeping do a great job at keeping them clean. Thank you for having me. Hope next time food and drinks service will be better.

The meals at night were good and staff attentive but the breakfast was poor.Porridge was lumpy and didnt tasty good. Scrambled eggs tasteless and bacon barely cooked. Hot water on counter not hot enough to make tea but luckily staff give me boiling water from kitchen.

Really nice location. Room warmed up quickly with the heater. The annex was nice. Food was pricey for us but the lamb shank was good. Breakfast was delicious. Good shower and nice beds

Vale la pena visitare questo albergo solamente per l'ascensore visibile solo nei film degli anni trenta, ancora quello con le porte scorrevoli in stile montacarichi. All'interno sembra essere stato rifatto ma alcuni particolari lasciano molto a desiderare come la pulizia delle camere dove abbiamo trovato ragni e ragnatele anche se piccoli, mancanza del sapone e dello shampoo nella doccia, insomma nel complesso se riuscite a trovarlo attorno alle 100 sterline è un buon rapporto qualità prezzo.

Somewhat dated, ancient noisy lift, shower over bath was a tap attachment. Bathrooms were definitely overdue a refurbishment. Staff were very good and everything very clean, but a refresh wouldn't go amiss...

It was ok. Not the warmest welcome. Hotel was nice enough. Veggie meals were good, meat was a bit overcooked. Hotel was noisy, as in, you could hear noise from other rooms and the lift, and the 2nd night there was a lot of fairly loud music and people singing downstairs. Not great when we were looking for a good night's sleep and early start.

PERFUNCTORY & DATED Generally pretty average and very dated. It felt like the staff (with the exception of one gentleman at breakfast) were there under duress. Nobody smiled, or gave any impression that they cared. Entirely transactional. It would appear that servicing the room doesn’t include anything other than changing the towels and folding a triangle in the end of the toilet roll. The beds were not made. All of this might have been acceptable at half the price charged. If you can get it cheap on itison and are willing to tolerate nobody caring one way or the other fine. If you want a nice weekend away with any level of service avoid.
