An amazing stay at a family run luxury hotel in Geiranger. There’s a lot of attention to detail and I love that the hotel offers a lot beyond just a room to stay. We enjoyed the pool facilities and the vintage car exhibit, and breakfast was an elaborate spread. We were lucky to get a room with a fjord view and it’s something special to wake up with the view of a mountain opposite, and we got to breakfast early enough to get a table just by the big window too. Worth the splurge!

Preis und Leistung passen nicht zusammen. Wir waren in 12 unterschiedlichen Hotels in Norwegen. Dieses Hotel war mit Abstand das teuerste, dafür aber das Schlechteste. Das Mobiliar im Zimmer war teilweise beschädigt und verschmutzt. Der Teppich roch nach Mottenpulver und das Wasser im Schwimmbad hatte einen üblen Geruch. Das Badezimmer war alt, die Dusche abschreckend und es gab keine Ablagemöglichkeiten.

We were delayed in checking in due to a customer choosing to leave the room we’re we’re assigned. There was a low hanging light in the entrance by bathroom door. We hit our heads on this light multiple times. We didn’t request a switch because we were late in getting into our room. When we mentioned our concern at checkout, they were surprised it hadn’t been fixed as it was previously reported. We are both in our 70s and tall. So we left with sore heads

Fint hotell og bra beliggenhet. Sluket i dusjen var tett og bittesmå hodeputer. Frokosten sto heller ikke i stil med hotellet. Var der for to år siden og syns helhetsinntrykket har blitt dårligere.

L'espace piscine/sauna gratuit est ok. Le restaurant Julie (à la carte) est très bien et les prix sont corrects. Par contre, 750 couronnes pour le buffet dans l'autre restaurant, c'est du vol. Petit déjeuner très bien également. La chambre nous a par contre beaucoup déçus. La vieille moquette par terre n'est plus en bon état, le lit double que l'on nous a promis étaient deux lits simpls posés côte-à-côte, la salle de bain pas pratique du tout (impossible de se doucher sans mettre de l'eau partout). Bref, même si c'est la super haute saison, le prix n'est absolument pas justifié.

Wow! We had the best experience at Hotel Union. We loved the fjord-view double room, complimentary breakfast buffet, vintage car museum, and amazing views! The staff went above and beyond to assist in everything we needed. The mountain pass was closed and when we called the hotel, they instructed us in the best way to travel to the hotel. While there, the bartender gave us the history of the vintage cars as well as the hotel. Our favorite spot though, was the sauna and outdoor pool/bath. We were blown away at how beautiful the view was from each and we went several times during our stay. We recommend staying 2+ days to fully take advantage of all the hotel offers. We would again often if we lived anywhere nearby.

Hotellet er blitt relativt slitt, men service i resepsjon var veldig bra. Når det gjelder mat var det en stor skuffelse, og det er service, kunnskaps hos servitør og logistikk som gir stryk. Spiste middag og fikk svært dårlig oppfølging og råd fra en kelner som virket totalt uinteressert. Frokosten var mildt sagt mangelfull. De greide ikke å etterfylle. Det var mange som sto og ventet på at for eksempel egg og bacon skulle komme. Da speileggene endelig kom, fikk jeg etter å ha spurt høre at det ikke var mer bacon igjen. Slik var det også med juice og andre pålegg man regner som en selvfølge på et hotell med en slik prisklasse.

We found the property really lovely but I do think that a property at that level should step up their service during their morning breakfast and buffet dinners in regards to getting your coffee or tea request instead of making you go get that yourself. The rest of it was good.
