Beautiful property with lots of green walking trails. Rooms are nice and well stocked. Staff was friendly and very helpful. They even pointed out monkeys in the trees to us.

Great service, great view, close to town and Monteverde Cloud Forest. Happy Hour at The Fig Restaurant was a great deal and the breakfast buffet included stay was well above average.

Great stay at Fiscus. Restaurant had fine dining and staff very helpful. The sunset view from the room was incredible. Parking is available at the lower lot, however, the hike to our room was strenuous for us 70 seniors. Would have enjoyed a dresser for our clothing as we stayed 4 days at Ficus, but we made due without. Great bird watching from the balcony. A hiking trail adjacent to the property was a real plus! Overall, would recommend this hotel most definitely!

Everything was great. The only complaint I would have is that our room was a bit of a walk from where the parking lot is, and a rather steep walk at that, but overall not a really big deal.

The grounds were very well maintained with lots of flowers. Very quiet with some trails where we could see monkeys and other animals. We had a great view from our room on the top of the property. Staff was great, location was close to everything we wanted to see.

The entire staff was friendly and helpful. They arranged transportation for us. The wait staff for breakfast was superb. The view in the restaurant is awesome. You can watch the sunset sipping wine or your favorite drink. We left a pair of binoculars in the lobby when we left. The staff found them and sent them on to our next hotel. I really can't say enough about how good the staff was. The room was very nice and had Netflix for our enjoyment.

The staff was young and very professional. They made an extra effort with providing superb hospitality. The grounds are beautiful, views amazing, rooms very large and clean. The included breakfast was top notch. I highly recommend this Hotel.

Definitivamente uno de los mejores hoteles en este viaje familiar por Costa Rica, el personal es muuuy amable, desde la recepción, cocina, barman, meseros, jardineros, vigilancia, todos!!!!!! El hotel hermoso, unas vistas increíbles y super bien ubicado. Muy cerca del centro, restaurantes, plaza comercial, farmacia, todo lo que puedas necesitar. 100% recomendable!!!!!

WAAAAAAAAY overpriced. Very limited parking, staff at front desk was rude. Wait staff was pleasant. Required more money for another person to stay in the room -- charged another $115+ even though they did not eat breakfast. Food and drinks overly priced as well especially for this area. Would not stay again.

This hotel is open and inviting. When I entered our room, I immediately felt relaxed and and at ease. The bathroom is spacious and clean and hot water iss immediately available in the large, attractive shower.

The staff was so helpful in providing assistance with booking our tours and recommendations for restaurants. The hotel was spotlessly clean and well located close to town. We will absolutely return the next time we're in MV.

Overall the rooms, bathroom, beds are good. Cleanliness is maintained. Property is nice. For people with physical conditions should avoid getting rooms on the higher elevation because of the arduous slope. On our request they were kind enough to switch our room to lower part of the property. No AC in the room. Cannot keep the doors open for fear of bugs getting in as there are no screens. Breakfast is limited, not that great. Lunch menu limited for vegetarians. Not a bad property to stay for short time. Center of town is at a walkable distance. Restaurants are aplenty in downtown which is 10 minutes from the Hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Ficus Monterverde. We loved the spacious clean rooms with beautiful views (we were on the 2nd floor of the building the most higher up the hill), beautiful grounds and gardens, welcoming and helpful reception staff (cool towels and welcoming juice - nice attention!). I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Monterverde.

Okay so the room was perfect! First thing you notice is the wrap around terrace balcony which offers a wonderful view of the sunset. It was clean and the WIFI was good, there was a mini fridge, a large bed and a huge walk-in shower which was so comfortable after a long day trekking through the cloud forests. As far as the Hotel, it’s situated just a very short walking distance outside the Santa Elena town center on the road toward Monte Verde. The whole hotel is embedded in lush beautiful garden where they actually grow the fruits and vegetables that serve the restaurant. There was a really nice FREE breakfast made with fresh juice and strong local coffee. The hotel staff were knowledgeable about the area and accommodating with any information about local tours, I would definitely look into the night walk!

Hotel is nice and located close to restaurants and shops. Overall our stay was good except that I was cheated for getting the garden view rooms (#221 & 222) while paying for the mountain view rooms. The mountain is behind our rooms so they are not "Mountain View".

The staff could not have been friendlier. The room was large, clean and comfortable with a great view. The breakfast buffet had many good choices and the food was very good. Very short walk to the center of town.

Amazing view from the room. Room was huge; nice shower, big comfortable bed and balcony with forest view. I tried the ceviche and the pancakes at the restaurant and both were delicious.

Excellent staff, spacious clean room with balcony. Happy hour was great. I was concerned when I realized there was no AC but it was cool enough it the area that we didn’t need it.

We enjoyed the reception staff who were very very helpful. Always there when we needed something. Gave us good recommendations for restaurants in the area. In particular we’d like to mention Marlon Aylin and Manford. Dining room staff were very nice, breakfast was good, and we enjoyed our lattes. Good location, easy walk down to town, little challenge, coming up from town! Slow and easy does the trick! Would recommend this hotel, not for dining, but for hospitality and management.h

This property is fantastic. The rooms are very spacious. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. They surprised my husband with a birthday cake made of towels and fresh flowers left in our room. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Ficus Monterverde. We loved the spacious clean rooms with beautiful views (we were on the 2nd floor of the building the most higher up the hill), beautiful grounds and gardens, welcoming and helpful reception staff (cool towels and welcoming juice - nice attention!). I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Monterverde.

The property is amazing and the staff even more so!! The grounds are immaculate and the view of the cloud forest breath taking. We woke up to a flat tire and Anna and Allison couldn’t have been more helpful in getting us to our morning excursion and on our way afterwards. Without their help we might still be there. Mucho gracias to both!!

Check-out took almost 30 minutes, which is something I have never experienced before. While the property itself is beautiful, the check-out process was extremely disappointing. The experience began with staff insisting that we owed money for photographs we never ordered, which we had in fact paid for directly to the outside vendor. After that, we were asked to wait an additional 15 minutes while housekeeping inspected the room. During this inspection, we were incorrectly accused of taking a robe. After 10 minutes of unnecessary discussion, housekeeping checked again and eventually found the robe and apologized, admitting it was a mistake. We paid a substantial amount to stay at this property. Attempting to charge us for items we did not take, and causing unnecessary delays at check-out, was a waste of our time and unprofessional. This type of treatment is disrespectful and unacceptable for a property at this level.

The property is modern and in good condition. The rooms were large and ours had a fabulous view towards the ocean and downtown Santa Elena. The staff was great, especially Ana and Alison at the front desk. I would stay here again.

This hotel is a real gem. It is a beautiful property, perfectly situated within easy walking distance to the center of Santa Elena (although up a steep hill to return to the hotel which just meant some good exercise for us) and secluded enough that is was quiet and tranquil. The staff is especially friendly and helpful and they made our stay very pleasant. The hotel is well maintained and the room and housekeeping kept the room very clean. We had two appetizing dinners in the on-site restaurant and the included breakfast is good. Highly recommend Hotel Ficus!

The hotel staff were very professional and accommodating by providing excellent service. The hotel was conveniently located close to all of the restaurants and many of the points of interest. The hotel is very walkable but is at the top of a little hill so, wearing appropriate shoes is important. Very comfortable hotel and even had a smart TV in the room which allowed us to watch Netfix in the evening. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Manfred at the front desk was so kind and helpful. The hotel nice nice and quiet. A little out of the loop but still walkable. If you have mobility issues I do not recommend this location as it is uphill and there are many stairs on the property. Clean rooms, good service, fair price. Not fancy but well above average. The restaurant down the hill, Chico Cafe, was super yummy!

The grounds were very well maintained with lots of flowers. Very quiet with some trails where we could see monkeys and other animals. We had a great view from our room on the top of the property. Staff was great, location was close to everything we wanted to see.

Definitivamente uno de los mejores hoteles en este viaje familiar por Costa Rica, el personal es muuuy amable, desde la recepción, cocina, barman, meseros, jardineros, vigilancia, todos!!!!!! We enjoyed the reception staff who were very very helpful. Always there when we needed something. Gave us good recommendations for restaurants in the area. In particular we’d like to mention Marlon Aylin and Manford. Dining room staff were very nice, breakfast was good, and we enjoyed our lattes. Good location, easy walk down to town, little challenge, coming up from town! Slow and easy does the trick! Would recommend this hotel, not for dining, but for hospitality and management.h

The check in was special. After a long and bumpy road up to the area from San Jose, we were met with a welcoming face towel and then a welcome drink. The check in staff took us up to our room and talked about the plants and birds in the hotel’s lovely gardens and seemed both knowledgeable and sincere in talking to us. A very pleasant initial impression of the hotel. One negative was that the food in the restaurant was standard….not bad, but also not so good.

Amazing view from the room. Room was huge; nice shower, big comfortable bed and balcony with forest view. I tried the ceviche and the pancakes at the restaurant and both were delicious.

We spent two nights in Ficus. Notable- The young lady working the front desk with long, dark hair and the wait staff in the restaurant at night. Both were super friendly and went out of their way to be fun and welcoming! Room- very clean and all the things worked well! Breakfast buffet- Excellent! Other food was good...except the pizza. A bit undercooked. Stick with local cuisine. The area is very hilly- expect to walk up hills. Shopping is a bit a way from everything. Tours- a very limited amount of excursions offered. We ended up going on a FB group and were able to find some things. End of June- expect some rain. We still went out and enjoyed all the things we wanted to do, no problem. View from the room- Plants could use a trim as they were hard to see past. wifi- excellent. Hot water- strong and plenty. Air-con- worked well. Snacks in mini bar- very over priced. Coffee maker- very nice and good coffee.

Everything was great. The only complaint I would have is that our room was a bit of a walk from where the parking lot is, and a rather steep walk at that, but overall not a really big deal.

This was our favorite hotel in our trip. The room is spacious and clean. The bed is comfy. In the afternoon, we had the visit of some coatis that we could see really well from our balcony. We could also hear some howler monkeys. The breakfast is good and there is a lot of options. The lady at the reception was really nice too. Would definetly recommend!

The entire staff was friendly and helpful. They arranged transportation for us. The wait staff for breakfast was superb. The view in the restaurant is awesome. You can watch the sunset sipping wine or your favorite drink. We left a pair of binoculars in the lobby when we left. The staff found them and sent them on to our next hotel. I really can't say enough about how good the staff was. The room was very nice and had Netflix for our enjoyment.
