Beautiful resort. Lovely rooms. Very clean all round. Food options are somewhat limited, but there are very nice options at each restaurant as long as you get the right things. 90% are very nice and attentive. As with all resorts, tips help. We experienced some teething issues with staff, but nothing serious that wasn't apologised for and resolved. The activities are really good and there is enough to do each day. The gym could do with more than one treadmill. All round we had a great time and would most likely go back one day.

We had an incredible stay overall, just some minor improvements to be made/be aware of. Pros: - The property is absolutely stunning. The hotel is more of a chic, boutique all-inclusive. My boyfriend and I loved the atmosphere and quiet environment. The cabanas and pools are lovely - most of the time we felt like we were all alone at our own luxury resort due to the way the resort is set up. - Food is great for an all-inclusive. We got the steak & lobster upgrade dinner for my boyfriend’s birthday and the food was truly amazing. The restaurants are also very good and food is very fresh. It’s still an all-inclusive, so don’t expect anything crazy, but it’s some of the best all-inclusive food I’ve ever had. - Staff are generally amazing - they made us feel right at home. - The beach is a very short walk - about 8 minutes. We enjoyed the walk as there was a lake with DOZENS of herons and iguanas to see. Cons: - Staff are pushy for Google reviews. After every dinner, staff came up to us with a QR code and asked us to review. In fact, they would actually stand there and wait for us to write a review in front of them. - The spa service prices are insane (~$300 USD). You get a discount if you’re staying at the hotel, but still $$$. Also, if they try to tell you the sauna/water treatment are an extra charge, they’re lying to you! You get this free with your stay for 1hr per day - There could be more effort made towards nightlife activities, but we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere

The room was clean. They couldn't give me a room with a king bed. That was a big let down in my book. Points deducted. Grounds are beautiful. Staff was nice. Lobby smelled good. Beach club was the highlight.

Zel Punta Cana is an excellent couple/family resort if you are looking to have a quiet/relax vacation. Their customer service is outstanding. All the employees are very friendly and attentive making you feel at home. The 4 restaurants are very good and the spa is wonderful. We stayed 8 nights and they had diferent activities every day/night. I highly recommend it.

Our experience with the assigned room was very challenging due to the presence of mold and excessive humidity, which unfortunately affected our health, which is unacceptable, we got sick because of this. Additionally, there was ongoing construction in the rooms on the floor below, resulting in significant noise disturbances. Of utmost concern, the decision to book this hotel was primarily based on the images provided, and it was disappointing to discover that Expedia had included photos from the Falcon and Palma Real Hotel, leading to a misleading representation. Such practices can understandably erode trust in booking platforms like Expedia.

The worst vacation ever. I was extremely disappointed with my stay at this resort. From the moment we arrived, the service was below expectations. Our room was unacceptable — the bed sheets had dead bugs, and there was visible mold in the room. The pool was dirty and unkempt, making it unusable. Necessities like washcloths were missing, which is surprising for a resort that advertises itself as luxury. This resort was a huge disappointment. The walkways were unkempt with grass and debris, and the overall property felt poorly maintained. The staff was unfriendly and not eager to help, which made the experience even worse. The staff only cater to people that are from DR. If you are American I suggest you find another resort. Rudy the hibachi chef was extremely unprofessional and made our stay horrible. I thought this hotel was adult-only. There were kids everywhere running around. I felt uncomfortable about wearing certain clothes because of the children. I was extremely disappointed with the butler service during my stay at this resort. What was advertised When you pay for a resort that promises butler service, you expect convenience and care — not to feel ignored or like you’re inconveniencing the staff. Unfortunately, this left a negative impact on my stay and did not justify the premium price I paid. A resort should provide comfort, peace, and quality service — but I left feeling the opposite. This was not the relaxing experience I had been looking forward.

I always stay at Melia. This particular one was old, moldy, a little dirty. Beds are very uncomfortable. A lot of mosquitoes in the room. Buffet room was too small. Not a big variety. Definitely will not recommend this place.

This resort was in in bad need of repairs. As I approached, I noticed many roof tiles missing on all the buildings, my room was filthy when I checked in and I needed to have staff clean it, my first day in my room the safe was broken and needed to be replace, the electric door lock broke and I was locked out waiting two hours to have it fixed. The second day I had no hot water and my AC broke and they didn’t send anyone to fix until the next day. It was very hot to say the least. I requested a room change and waited a day for that to happen. After I moved to the next room it was about 4 hours before the AC broke. I called and was told no one was there to fix it. The next day I had to wait for someone to show up. They fixed it and it lasted 1 day. I called again and was told I would have to wait. When they came to fix it again they got it running but it smelled like it was on fire so for my safety they moved my room again. I decided that I had enough and changed my flight to leave two days early. It wasn’t until the day before I was leaving that I got a call from a hotel manager asking what they could do to make it better. I said if you could refund the two nights I won’t be here for that would be great. The next day I woke up early to leave and was held at the exit gate saying I can’t leave until I check out. I’ve never heard of this. I owed no money and was leaving early yet the refused to let me leave. Never again. Worst experience ever!!

Our family of four stayed at this hotel in the past when it was under different ownership. We saw many advertisements and thought we would give it a try. We had reserved a two bedroom swimup suite but when we arrived they said that they couldn't give us that kind of room until the next day. I mean, if you reserve this kind of room ahead of time it should be ready upon check in. So they gave us two rooms with one bedroom swim up suite that didn't connect. It was a little tough but we made it work. The next day housekeeping didn't come to the room so we had to ask for towels and our bed wasn't made. Everytime you asked for a hand towel they never had. The service at the breakfast and lunch buffet wasn't the best, you would have to ask repeatedly for water which seemed like a "big ask" sometimes. The food is mediocre at best. We would venture out to the beach during the mornings after breakfast and there was no help setting up chairs. We've been to so many resorts and they usually have someone to assist you in getting towels, chair setup, etc. The beach had a lot of seaweed too. The Beach restaurant was also mediocre. Service not good and food not good. The nighttime restaurants were ok but they had a better crew of people working them. All in all, our family tried to make the best of it. For the amount we paid for this trip we don't feel that we got what we wanted in a vacation. It's a beautiful resort (landscape wise) but sadly we won't be back.

I recently stayed at Zel Hotel Punta Cana and unfortunately, my experience did not meet my expectations, especially for a family-friendly vacation. First, this hotel is not kid-friendly at all — there were zero activities for kids and no entertainment or organized events to keep them busy. It’s the same for adults: after dinner there were no activities or shows, which made the evenings feel long and boring. The room service was disappointing. Every time we ordered something to eat, it took about 2 hours to arrive and the food always came cold. The staff were excellent, friendly, fun and attentive. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the pool. The main pool was alway clean an crystal clear. However, the “lagoon” area around ours and all the other swim up suites desperately needed a good vacuuming. They are surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, no doubt difficult to maintain, but they really need a better solution.

Overall our experience was 7.5/10. Grounds are beautiful, relaxing and on the quieter side. You would enjoy this property if you like quiet pools and no night life. The room itself is a little dated with many fixtures broken and the units are not soundproof - you can hear the next door neighbour use the bathroom or move furniture. There were available shuttles to the beach, only a short 5 min ride..or you can walk for 10-15 mins to get there. Beach is beautiful and shared with 3 other properties. I heard there is going to be renovations soon, so not sure if you will be able to book this place in the near future.

There are so many amazing things about this resort The room is gorgeous and the amenities were amazing. They supply everything you need from shampoo and conditioner to a razor and a toothbrush. The staff is amazing and go above and beyond. Jonatan Silvestre was an amazing waiter. We have had him for two nights in a row now and he is so kind and friendly I appreciate his help and warm smile. At the Gabi restaurant I revived excellent service from Josefa Amporo and Ronny roa Robersy josefa the waiters who were so kind, helpful and attentive bringing drinks and clearing the table and asking always if there is something else that we need. I can not recommend the concierge service provided by Jesica Ramos enough. She goes above and beyond to make us feel special. She did so many things to take care of us such as making all of our dinner reservations the first night and texting is in the morning to wish us a good day. She even called us one morning to make sure we were up and ready for our excursion. And the guest relations supervisor Soribel send a cheese meat and fruit plate to our room to snack on upon our return. The private garden area outside our swim up room is beautiful with mature landscaping. We have a patio with our own lawn chairs and cabana. The way the pool winds all around the property ensures that you have privacy. You hear birds in the day and cricket at night. This is a truly special resort.

Our room was spacious and comfortable! All of the villas were close to everything, it was very walkable. And there were plenty of food options to choose from each day. We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel—it was perfect for the quiet vacation and downtime we were looking for. Our room, 5002 (the Master King Swim-Up Suite), had everything we needed: a spacious living area with a kitchenette, and a bedroom with essentially two bathrooms—each with its own vanity in separate areas. Superou nossas expectativas , pegamos somente 2 dias pois já tínhamos reserva de outro resort para os próximos 6 dias. This is a beautiful property and it appeared to be a great location to celebrate our wedding anniversary. However, there were a few issues that really let it down for us. The check in process was really unorganized and took far too long since we were encouraged to take a tour of some other rooms in consideration of an upgrade (conveniently our allocated room only had twin beds and there were no other king beds available). Long story short everything seems so unorganized as though the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Excluding a small handful of individuals the customer service from staff was lacking in warmth and friendliness and there was a vibe that they didn’t enjoy working there. Too many disappointments to list here so I don’t think we’d go back to this resort.

It is a nice hotel, if you want to stay in a calm place with good food and good staff this will be it. Not to many people, not loud music, not crowded beach or restaurants. I received my platinum benefits of wine bottle and spa bonus that I used. The spa is great! And the staff managed to put us in the same room the whole wknd as we reserved one day separately. But I didnt receive the room upgrade even though I asked for it. Our concierge Robert was too nice. Alexis the manager was also very diplomatic and the rest of the staff. The bartender girl from the beach serves the best drinks! The only thing I would say is that they could get better is the logistics, communication between the staff. Sometimes they could repeat some information or didn’t know about other. But as a new hotel I know that will improve. In front of it there is the Rafa Nadal tennis courts. My fave tennis player!

We had high hopes for our vacation at ZEL Punta Cana, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. While the resort itself is visually stunning — the grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are modern, clean, and very well-designed — everything else fell short, especially for a place marketed as a luxury all-inclusive. The buffet food was consistently cold and unappetizing. Every meal we had there lacked flavor and freshness. It honestly felt like food was being left out too long without proper temperature control. Whether at the pool, bar, or restaurant, the quality was not what you’d expect from a resort of this level. Our biggest issue was with the concierge service, or rather the complete lack of it. Our concierge never introduced himself, never reached out, and never followed up. As a result, we were unable to make any dinner reservations at the specialty restaurants. Property is pretty clean and the environment is amazing. Staff in the front desk is super welcoming and very friendly. Food was pretty good. Very nice hotel if you want to relax. The beach is not right in the property but they have trolleys that takes you every 5 minutes. The beach is only like 2 minutes away. I’ll recommend to make all your restaurants reservations the same day you arrive in the property because sometimes when you try to make the reservation the same day is not available. Like the live Japanese restaurant. The staff was so amazing that even though they didn’t have space the night I wanted to eat there they accommodated my partner and I. The security throughout the property is on point. I really enjoyed my 6 days stay. I’ll definitely return. Another cons is the beach has a lot of sargasso even tho they try to keep it clean. I think the government should get more involved in that part to keep those amazing beaches free from it.

Overall our experience was 7.5/10. Grounds are beautiful, relaxing and on the quieter side. You would enjoy this property if you like quiet pools and no night life. The room itself is a little dated with many fixtures broken and the units are not soundproof - you can hear the next door neighbour use the bathroom or move furniture. There were available shuttles to the beach, only a short 5 min ride..or you can walk for 10-15 mins to get there. Beach is beautiful and shared with 3 other properties. I heard there is going to be renovations soon, so not sure if you will be able to book this place in the near future.

Not crowded, if you want rest no shows or activities, plenty of cabanas and chairs by the pool and beach. The beach is a bit far, golf cart brings you back and forth. The food is like at any other all inclusive, limited. Soda either flat or tastes like diet. Not much for younger kids. Overall very relaxing stay.

Zel is a relatively small resort within this complex of Melia properties. The resort was nice and the staff were lovely, especially those working at the concierge. Some of the staff working in the restaurants had limited knowledge of English which made basic things like ordering tea instead of coffee very difficult, and service was consistently slow. The beach is walkable distance but not the '8 minutes' we were quoted, it's more like 15 minutes, and the shuttles were sometimes a 10 minute wait. The beach was very nice and the food at the restaurants was good but not amazing. Overall, it was a good experience and I have no complaints.

We were glad that we went during slow season so that we could thoroughly enjoy the tranquility of the property. There were enough guests to provide company without it every being busy or over crowded as since all-inclusives are known to be. Diverse restaurants, the staff were very hospitable and you could see they're like a happy family. We had a couple of minor maintenance challenges but they were handled well. We did much of nothing and just lazed around but it was enjoyable. We never left except to take the shuttle down to the very chic Beach Club. Definitely a memorable visit.

Clean rooms, quite place, clean pool, amazing staff, lots activities for adults, I would just add more food varieties as: a coffee shop, a better food selection for lunch and more snacks during day time. This is my second time staying at Zele, I am definitely coming back. Alvaro and Priscila are my favorite people.

The resort is amazing , beautiful outdoor spaces , great pools , big and clean rooms . Overall ZEL is a great destination for an amazing get away. Staff are very polite and friendly . Food is great with loads of varieties ! The resort is pure luxury — calm, beautiful, and perfect for anyone looking to take a break from the world and recharge. I personally recommend this resort to young’s and adults ! Looking forward to getting back soon!

Smaller, intimate resort. We went during the shoulder season so it wasn’t too crowded and enjoyed our time. We got food poisoning mid way our trip. Raw fish and dairy weren’t kept in enclosed fridge (i.e., bottom panel is cold but they are left in the open air and buffet area gets very hot due to cooking station). Stay away from eating anything raw like ceviche and dairy if you have sensitive digestive system. Overall great stay.

The location is excellent. Although the hotel is not directly on the beachfront, the beach is just a very short walk away, and the path to get there is pleasant and easy. The entire resort is very well organised and exceptionally clean, the suite is also well decorared, confortable which really contributed to a very pleasant stay. The staff were, in general, very friendly and helpful, with only one or two exceptions. However, I don’t think it would be fair to negatively evaluate the whole experience because of the occasional lack of professionalism from an individual member of staff. I also really enjoyed the variety of restaurants and the way each one can adapt to different types of cuisine and concepts. The different spaces and their overall design are very well thought out and make the resort feel diverse and interesting. The food is also good. Overall, I have no significant negative points to mention. I had a wonderful experience and would be happy to return.

Notei que por uma boa parte dos funcionários para ter um atendimento mais acolhedor era necessário pagar propina, algo que infelizmente me deixou bem incomodada, em várias situações não vi um interesse da parte de alguns funcionários para resolver situações simples, caso não desse algum tipo de caixinha. Eu particularmente gosto de retribuir quando sinto que fui bem atendido e não situação de coação.
