Best Western Queens Hotel

Expedia did not inform me of refurbishment of this hotel , there was no restraurant or bar facilityTV did not work no signal , no towel change after use

Not the first time I stayed in the hotel. Very central, with parking at the back. Comfy bed and toilet. Quick check-id/out. Nothing to complain about!

Great parking available. Disappointed in food, the year before i could stay in hotel for a meal, as a lone traveller this was my preferred option, however they no longer serve meals in the eatery. Room information is oit of date as it promotes the eatery. Breakfast was supposed to be from menu, however was buffet with food uncovered and served in salad tins sitting on a hot plate. Staff were friendly and helpful.

First class location with ample parking places. The service I received for the one night stay was very good . Access to the shower via the bath was difficult for me having a problem leg and no grab handles. As it was only one night I never enquired if there was any rooms with showers (no bath). This was a minor point otherwise no complaints

I can't really review this property because when I appeared for my reservation, I was actually sent to another hotel because they were having problems accomodating me. However, they were great in setting up a reservation for me at another hotel and providing transportation to and from that hotel, allowing me to park my rental car in their parking lot for free, which helped me a lot. So I will say they take care of their guests, whatever the circumstances.

Staff and location were the best features of the hotel. The property seems understaffed overall, and in serious need of updating/repair. Wifi didn’t work with super complicated sign up process, rooms were very warm with no ventilation other than cracked windows and bathroom fan, bath tubs were very high off ground with no grab bars. I’m an able bodied, non-senior person but feared slipping and falling when getting in and out to shower. Great location, great staff, and great potential to be a gorgeous hotel.

Room too small and no walkin shower but they moved us to a better one. Location was good for walking into the city and it had its own car parking área which was ideal.

The hotel was being refurbished which was good to see. However this meant there was no catering available other than breakfast. The complimentary tea & coffee was not replenished during our stay which was surprising and disappointing. There seemed to be a skeleton staff on duty who tried to be helpful but did not provide a good experience. We were not told in advance that the hotel restaurant was closed and only found out at check in.

We had booked this hotel as a mother daughter visit as it is half way between our locations and thought it was ideal for the location, we soon became very disappointed on arrival to our room there was poo in our toilet and the flusher didnt work and basically came off in our hands, i had to visit the reception twice to try and get someone to fix it, which they finally did, the room was full of the tiny little white moths and they said they couldnt move us as they had no other rooms available, we had 3 pillows (if you could call them that) between 2 and we asked if we could have another pillow and reception just said they could find one as the hotel was full, we decided to eat breakfast on the last day and there was hardly any cooked breakfast there and what was there was dry especially the eggs, we had to chase our tea up too, they eventually bought out fresh stuff but by then it was too late, they only had 2 slices of bread for making toast, the cups for tea where stained and dirty and one had lipstick on it. Overall it was a very disappointing stay and the rooms need much work done as very tired and dated and the TV didnt work either, the only 1 good thing about the room was the shower was hot and powerful. Will not be staying again

Hotel is clean

This is a very poor quality hotel. Cleanliness was an issue. The window frame and sill had dirt which had become deeply ingrained in the woodwork. Used Coffee and tea cups were never washed as part of the daily housekeeping service. And the fitted carpet on the floor looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned since it was laid many years ago. Maintenance of the room was even worse. The net curtain to the window had collapsed on one side and was hanging loose by a thread. It was like that when we arrived. It was like that throughout our stay. And it was still like that when we departed. Even worse, the light switch operating the bedside light was broken and had we tried to use it we probably would have been electrocuted. Generally the place was tatty and I'm very disappointed with Expedia for having offered this hotel to me as a place to stay.

I enjoyed a spotless, comfortable room which gave me an excellent night's sleep after a lovely bath. The breakfast was perfect, both in the quality of products and the cooking, as well as the service from the friendly lady in the restaurant.

Hotel is more traditional looking, lots of original fittings and woodwork. Staff attentive and food good! Room was clean and quiet!

Hotel is very dated and in need of a refresh, the window didn’t close fully and was draughty which doesn’t matter in the summer but will be very different if it was cold outside! The bathroom looked very tired and the sink was cracked however the hotel is centrally located with it’s own car park and our room was a great size and very clean.

Wasn’t very clean, old and dilapidated, the light switch made a high frequency squeal when switched on. The ironing board was broken. Poor quality hotel

Staff at this hotel are excellent. We checked into our room to find the bed messy/slept in & towels on the floor of the bathroom. Clearly the room wasn’t ready for us! We were moved to another room which was ok but needed some attention! Bathroom mirror was filthy, floor dirty but we did have a clean, freshly made bed!

The room was not clean and the tub was high and slippery. The bed was old and not comfortable. The sheets did not fit the bed. Would not stay here again.

booked into this older style hotel . Amazing staircase takes you to the bedrooms. We were fortunate to book a room with a double aspect view over the river Tay. The bonus waas the weather was good

Hotel was looking tired in terms of decor. Had trouble sleeping in room 205 due to late night loud music from across the street. Cracked sink in bathroom. Juice Glasses at breakfast were still in a plastic compartment that looked like it came out of the dishwasher

Booked kingsize bed but it ended up being 2 singles pushed together leaving a gap in middle Basic items missing (no iron and tv remote) Hotel could do with a paintjob was a bit dated Staff were pleasant and very helpful regarding missing items

Exceptionally kind staff (all Scots are exceptionally kind) it's true its an old building. Floor slopes a bit here and there. Do ask for the quiet side of the building if bands are playing next soor

Very dated hotel badly in need of decorating and modernising. Windows didn’t open in room so was very stuffy and king size bed was 2 single beds stuck together with no over mattress so basically single beds. Breakfast was ok but had ran out of sausages first thing which is very poor blamed on deliveries but could be easily rectified at a local shop so a poor excuse but not a fault of the staff on duty. Wouldn’t stay again

The hotel was in a good location. Check in was excellent. Sraff very friendly. The hotel is a beautiful building with character and creeky floorboards. Our room was spaces and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Now the downside. The noise from the club next door was horrendous, Im all for young ones enjoying themselves but not wgen i have to listen to it for hours. Not a great sleep !

Excellent service by Lucy at check in who sorted out something that could have spoiled our trip to Dundee. Lucy went out of her way to accommodate us land resolved everything to perfection. Thank you Lucy from two very grateful guests.

I can't really review this property because when I appeared for my reservation, I was actually sent to another hotel because they were having problems accomodating me. Communication I had from Expedia was that checkin was 1400, but it's actually 1500, so expect a snippy response from the front desk staff if you turn up 'early'. Room was clean and quiet and breakfast was decent. Very good location.

Easy to get to, good parking, Dundee rep is only 2-3 minutes walk, lovely room, really comfortable bed and a hearty breakfast, any evening shows at the rep I’ll be staying here again.

Property was old and had character. It was also central which made everything so convenient. Breakfast would have been better if the bacon had not been thin, dry and like cardboard but apart from that it was fine and the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, especially Kimberly on reception.

The location of this property was great, close to bus and train station, close to shopping and other amenities.

Nice hotel. Quite grand in an understated way. Very good breakfast - Arbroath smokies be poached eggs, which I thought was pretty classy. Apparently winston churchill stayed here loads. Would be good if the hotel had a little info in the plaque explaining why he spent so much time in Dundee. The fella seemed to get about, but the interesting to know what he was up to regardless

Great hotel for the price convenience and price. Bar was soulless with no customers and only heavy on draught - one couple walked in and there was no staff to serve so they walked back out

We loved this hotel. It was so charming, loved the history, the high ceilings were delightful, as was the classic feel, accessible in all the ways-parking lot, lift. Loved the views of the city, breakfast was fantastic, AJ at the desk and Lorine in the restaurant were lovely. Only wished there were more friendly family restaurants in the immediate area.

Friendly staff at reception. Free parking behind hotel, convenient location. Very clean hotel, room bit dated. Had room at side which was noisy from nightclubbers at 4am. Breakfast menu looks good but is a bit basic, rationed fresh fruit, luke warm coffee and kitchen struggling to get the right orders out.
