King Solomon Hotel- Golders Green

The first room we were given had not been cleaned after the last occupants, we were moved to another room. The room was okay, but the windows did not shut properly, one had a broken latch and other did not have a latch at all. The door to the shower looked like it could do with a good clean and the carpets. There were no electric sockets near the bed at all, we had to keep unplugging the kettle to use charge our mobiles and use the laptop, and the bed side light was faulty, by the end of the stay it did not work at all. They did not have a lift, and the stairs were bare wood very narrow and shabby paint work. We had the noisiest neighbours they had no idea what a door handle was for, when they slammed the doors it reverberated all through the room. We would of called the receptionist on the room phone, but that did not work, we report a couple of times to no avail. After going down to the reception twice to report the first dirty room and then no electric in the next room, we couldn't be bother to go down again to ask them to tell the neighbours to stop slamming the doors, we asked them ourselves but they didn't understand us. The fire alarm went off at 02.30 am, we were informed it was a neighbour was smoking in their room, which sets all the alarms off. The staff were friendly and looked like they were sorry for all the problems we had.

Big Rooms, but no Elevators.

For the price paid it was a decent and functional room for overnight stay. Very accessible despite the horrendous London traffic with the bus stop right outside the hotel to Wembley where I was attending a concert. Definitely recommend for short stays and parking is the bonus if driving in!

First of all there was no parking whatsoever.people had blocked the entrances to the car park by parking their cars over the entrance and exit to the car oark.the hotels reason was that an event was going on.there was no one marshalling the car park, secondly there appears to be blood on the carpet at the end of the bed which is disgusting, there is mould all over the shower, the bin hadn't been emptied before we got in there so was greeted with someone else's rubbish, the shower was blocked so all dirty scum came out the drain all over our feet and over split onto the bathroom floor. We definitely won't be staying here again

The room is well set out and clean . Comfy bed and average size. Would have rated it higher if the electric supply hadn’t cut off during the night: mini fridge content became warm, couldn’t use the tea/coffee as couldn’t boil the kettle and my phone hadn’t charged. On the plus side it was sorted before we could tell anyone! Was originally sent to a room to find someone in it already ( that was a little embarrassing) but the staff were helpful and got us another room. Bar was very limited on stock : didn’t have a lot to pick from so that was disappointing. However, still feel it was good value and both the breakfast and breakfast staff were great.

Nice hotel, easy to get to with free parking. Very clean room. Only downside to room was not many plug sockets and none near a mirror to be able to do hair. Only mirror was in the bathroom. Inside the hotel was like a maze to find our rooms. Would stay there again.

Good for a 1 night stay, bonus having its own car park

The absolute worse hotel I have ever stayed, at the room stank, the toilet was extremely dirty inside, all the tiles in the floor was cracked, the door handles had something sticky all over them, the shower and bath were full of grime along with the tiles, the pillow may aswell have not been there it was so thin. The walls were paper thin, we could literally hear every word of the conversations going on next door. The fire alarm was going off. The carpet was filthy. I’ve never had a worse sleep or felt so dirty staying anywhere in my life. The only reason I didn’t leave and go elsewhere was that I couldn’t find another hotel so last minute but I tried

The hotels its self is very big and we got lost trying to find our room as the directions the receptionist gave and the signs on the walls were all different but we managed to find it eventually. The reception is very well presented (although doesn't look like the pictures) and it seems all of the budget has gone on this and not the rest of the hotel. the walls are very thin and the rooms are very close together so we heard absolutely everything. we kept thinking people were coming into our room but it was actually just people entering the room next door. i didn't get to sleep until around 1am as the other guest were so loud, children running up and down the stairs, people having loud phone calls, shouting, chatting ... you name it it was happening and we heard it ALL. So if you're looking for a cheap hotel for one night before you head of else where then this hotel is fine but if you're looking for a place to stay for anything longer than a night then please look else where.

The entire place smelled of mold and mildew. My room had pizza crust on the floor. I booked it for two days and left after one

The room had black mold around the window, the bathroom was passable, bed was comfortable. There was a heavy smell of dampness in the corridor and room.

just a place to stay, nothing else. the bathroom smelled constantly. you could hear all the other rooms. the cleaning was not very thorough. the beds were very worn. would not recommend it.

Few good points: The bed was comfortable, room size adequate and located within walking distance to the underground. Many bad points: Black mold located on carpet and walls, my allergies have been severe since staying there. The top and the sides of the wardrobe were filthy and dusty. The shower door was broken and door trim dirty. Edges between wall and table were dirty. Heating had broken so we had an oil heater to warm room up. Only one flat pillow per person. Towel supplied was not large enough, I'd say it was a hand towel rather than a bath towel. The corridors are laminate wood, meaning any guests will waken you walking over it. A door (guessing in corridor as heard many times from 7am on a Sunday morning) would slam shut waking us up regularly. So I had less than 4 hours sleep as a result. Check out at 10am on a weekend is really not restful, especially if going out in London and wanting any form of a lay in. Complained to staff, was just told "thanks for your comments". Black mold in a room should not be a room they should be using at all for anybody. Finally, the main light for the venue flickered like a halloween film, very much matched our experience. Definately will not be returning for that £120 experience.

My room had a horrible smell in it - I had to open window and turn heating down to get rid of it but only eased it . Run down hotel looks dirty

This place was very dirty. My blankets had old coffee/blood stains. The new towels they would give us every day didn’t seem that clean. Also our door didn’t close properly you had to give it a good pull or push. We came back one afternoon to find our door wasn’t even closed.

I’m not sure whether they’re going through renovations but the photos didn’t look the same to the hotel itself. Rooms are very tight but the bed was comfortable, not too bad for a single night but would’ve struggled for a longer stay

Comfortable bed, although the room was so small that the bed was pushed against the wall to make it fit. Next time I will request to have a bed accessible from both sides. I could not get onto WiFi for some reason and the hotel staff tried to help me. A good value hotel in a lovely area of London.

Had a good stay however for me things need a bit of an update. There was a funny smell in the corridors going up into the attic . The carpets could do with replacing. The attic room was quite hot even though there was a fan that was quite noisy when you put it on. The shower didnt stay upright only in 1 position and the cubicle just looked discoloured as it had been in for a while.

First of all I’m a young solo female traveler who booked a single adult room… and the only reason this hotel is getting a star is because of its location. GENERAL COMPLAINTS The free wifi only last 24hrs so you have to login repeatedly. Not to mention it’s extremely patchy and would cut in and out all the time. The room had no fridge, microwave, dishes or air conditioning. It also stank from a pollution that burns and blows smoke into peoples windows. Bathroom had a shampoo bottle with a fading label. The shower pressure was atrocious and the shower as a whole was old and in need of repair. If you’re staying on a top floor expect to carry your bags up a steep and narrow flight of stairs. The buildings are incredibly confusing to get around and I got lost repeatedly, having to ask the workers to direct me multiple times on the first few days of my stay. HARASSMENT COMPLAINTS This lead to me revealing my room number to a male worker. He then proceeded to knock on my door 3 times after ignoring him the first 2 times until I opened the door so he could ask me out for drinks. I refused and had to close the door in his face for him to take “no” for an answer. The following day, when I was out he had gone into my room to put flowers and a creepy note with his details on them, asking me out again. This made me even more uncomfortable as it confirmed he had a key to my room. This made me feel extremely unsafe for the rest of my stay. Scared to sleep and jumpy every time I

If you want to sleep this isn’t the hotel for you, after 12am the loud talking the doors banging running up and down the stairs even after complaining it still went on. For 20£ more there are better options in the area, I only chose this hotel because my flight was cancelled. The worst sleep I got was here. Building needs some serious renovation, the only facelift this place got was a new sign and the main entrance everything else is stuck in the past. The place I stood before coming here was fully booked it was 20£ more and it’s up to date and very quiet. Don’t cheap out like I did spend the extra money for a peace of mind

Wow. What can i say. Booked this hotel for 2 nights with my pregnant wife. Ended up checking out after the first night. The room opposite had 3 children that would not be quiet. I complained 3 times and the noise did not stop. Now i understand this is not the hotels fault but there should have been more stricter with the room opposite me that was slamming doors, running up and down the corridor and being loud in the hallway outside my room.

Rooms were too close together and could hear surrounding customers, had to endure other customers screaming and shouting for 3 nights solid, I had to get up at 3am to the Eurostar this morning and I could not sleep properly due to this and nobody told them to quiet down. Shower was barely passable and cold. I will not be staying again.

The hotel has a nice modern decor and the reception staff were always friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival we decided to book breakfast at the hotel both mornings to make things easier for us. The breakfast was really nice and had a great selection to cater to all tastes. The room was extremely spacious and had all the facilities we needed. The only issue I had was that the shower kept going hot and cold I could not get it to just stay warm. Overall we had a very comfortable stay and we would return.

Our stay at this hotel was great. The receptionist on the day we arrived was very helpful and kind, she let us check in early, which we thought was perfect after almost 20 hours of traveling. The room was comfortable and clean. There were supermarkets, bakeries and several restaurants close to the hotel. The train station was just a 10-minute walk away and it was very easy to get around the city.

Got parking at front as arrived early. Rooms was very good, got free uograde, comfortable beds, great bathroom and very friendly service. Amazing value. Defo recommend

I booked online no payments till on arrival, 2 days before arrival I checked in. When I got the the hotel I was told my booking got cancelled I said I didn't cancel they said I know we did because you didn't put your card information down bare in mind it didn't ask for any details because it said pay on arrival. Lucky they had a room free otherwise I would of been stranded trying to find somewhere else to stay. The room was really tiny, the toilet had a very strong smell of wee it was disgusting I'm glad I wasn't staying for longer than 2 days as I couldn't of coped with that smell the shower got blocked everytime so couldn't stay in for long as the shower tray was turning into a bath I tried pulling the plug out to see if that helped and it was full of hair like it's never been clean. The bed was so hard I was aching the following day. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Great base for travelling around London, short 10 minute walk to the nearest underground station at golders Green. Nice area with plenty of bars, restaurants etc and a local tesco express for essentials. Hotel is nicely decorated and beds very comfortable. Wallpaper looked a bit tired etc but for the little time we actually spent in the room it didn't affect our stay the room was clean and smelled fresh. Very happy with our time there.

Good budget hotel in the clean and safe Jewish suburb of Golders Green. Decent sized rooms for this kind of London accommodation plus a handy fridge. Initial hot days were tough with no air conditioning, and the shower had a mind of its own with the water cycling between hot and cold. Decent transport links, about 10 mins walk to the tube station.

It would have been nice to have the cost of the breakfast buffet to be included in the booking and the variety to choose from was reasonable, but would have been nice to have mushrooms and poached eggs as part of the selection. The room I stayed was definitely reasonable in terms of size and appearance since it was relatively tidy. The location was also very convenient because it's a short walking distance from the underground station to catch the Northern line, which would take me to popular areas in London like Leicester Square, Tottenham Court Road & Waterloo.

The location of the hotel was great for the event that we were attending. I had booked 3 rooms for my family. Two were next to each other, and the other room was on the other side of the building and up several flights of stairs. Our room smelt strongly of cigarettes when we arrived. We booked breakfast for the next morning and when we arrived there was very little food left and it was not very warm.

Would let me check in as had no idea but I don’t own id also could find the room my friend was going to wait in the bar on a Saturday after noon no service and staff wouldn’t help also my room door didn’t lock from in side had to have a cabinet again all night and had photo to prove it people scream and arguing at 2.30 in the morning and slamming doors next to my room at 4.40 didn’t sleep all night and breakfast was awful eggs like rubber phots to prove no bacon and could get hot drink I spoke to reception and they said sorry and that was it room was tiny and basic

Hotel not well cleaned, with odor of humidity. Breakfast only for vegeterian people (no milk, no ham, canned fruit when there's a fruit merchant 200 m away). Bip sound at 4.00 am every morning. Good location : near bus and train lines to London center.

Very friendly staff, easy check in, location, exactly right, free parking a big bonus, bed very comfortable. I recommend! BUT, pillow for bed awful, one inch thick, soft and I have neck problems, choice of pillow,(soft, hard, memory foam) should be an option. Biggest complaint, breakfast, I only have a full English on holiday. But the last 2 hotels, I have visited only offer a VEGETARIAN breakfast, getting silly now, I travelled with a vegetarian & even she found this daft. I go on holiday to get away from the norms of life. Not be dictated too!

A very small room, with no lock on the bathroom. The curtains weren’t secure so fell off when you try to open them. Very limited food available - only offering vegetarian options.
