Garden Court Hotel

The staff is very helpful and will go out of their way to assist you. Breakfast is good consisting of breads, cold meats, and cheeses, hard boiled eggs, cereals, juices, coffee, and tea. It is generous enough to have a good start to the day. The looms are clean and nice, and the bed was very comfortable. Coffee/tea in the room. There is one iron/ironing board for the entire hotel located in the basement area. I would suggest that the hotel have several irons/boards to lend individuals needing them for a limited time. It is a bit inconvenient to have to leave your room to iron. Overall, I would stay there again.

The property is clean and the staff friendly and accommodating. It is located on a fairly quiet street but there are plenty of restaurants and shops around. The only issue we had was that the elevator was out of service. We did get a room on the second floor but with the heavy bags we had, it was a challenge. I booked the room having read in reviews that the elevator was out of service however, I thought that it would certainly be fixed by the time we stayed there. Overall it was a good experience to be fair.

Had a great few day stay. Hotel is definitely old, but has been updated. Rooms and bathrooms are small, but usable. The staff was very accommodating and let us check in 6 early. The last day of our stay the elevator was broken, so it was a hike to the 4th floor, but that wasn't a big deal.

Stuck me on the 4th floor with no working elevator. Location was nice but the place is old and crickety. I would not recommend

Room was unavailable after a maintenance issue

No elevator on the day we stayed. We have a huge luggage, a stroller and a toddler. We managed to climb (yes my kid climbed as he was too tired) to the fourth floor yet we were all exhausted. Tiny but nice shower room. No toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers provided. Better to bring your own. Staff are nice. Breakfast was fair with toast and fruits. Location is close to supermarkets and subway station. We may come again and hope the lift will get fixed by then😂

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The hotel is very clean and the fact that this one had an elevator was a relief. We were a little concerned with the size of the room and bathroom from the pictures but we had plenty of space for 3 adults and our luggage in the deluxe triple room. The bathroom had a ledge that spanned the wall from the sink to the toilet to hold our toothbrush and razors, etc. The wall outlets had usb plug-ins so we didn’t even need our power adapter, no outlet in the bathroom though. The location was a 5-10min walk to the Underground stations and very easy and convenient to get around. There was always someone at the front desk to assist us and the breakfast was enough to hold us until lunch but wasn’t anything fancy. There seemed to be plenty of luggage storage space in the back room which was necessary as the flight from DFW arrives at 9am so we left our bags and walked around the palace grounds and came back and our room was ready earlier than the normal check in time. We had a great time in London and would recommend this hotel for a stay.

Properly cleaned. Carpet in a hotel room is always a curious choice but whatever.

Good location for proximity and food, though be mindful of the closing times for stores. Staff were lovely, the room wasn't the cleanest as I saw a bundle of hair from previous guest, and the bathroom / toilet setup in the single room is rather dangerous as not only is it very tight, it is easy to have a fall, which I did have. Aside from the hair and the wear and tear of an old building, the stay was okay. Thanks.

Spiders and Cowebs in a couple corners, rust spots on paint, tiny tv, worn shower tile, pull string for bathroom light, very squeaky floor.

The staff are all lovely & the place is exceptionally clean. The room i had was battered around the edges but was freshly painted with a bew bathroom. Cleanliness is top level. Breakfast is in a very clean well appointment dinig toom and the continental brekky was really good for this price point. The only complaint is that an extractir fan in the neighbouring bathroom sounded like a machine gun and went off 4 times during the night, but hopefully they have that sorted now. I would definitely stay here again. Great value for money.

The room was very hot when we arrived and it was not possible for us to turn down the heating. The receptionist wasn’t able to do anything about it either, but thankfully it turned off at midnight. It stayed off for the rest of the trip. The rooms were acceptable, but we did find some mold on the wall and in the shower. Location was very good, underground station was nearby as well as nice cafés and restaurants.

How this hotel obtained their evaluation score is incomprehensible. The carpets in the rooms ar old abd dirty. There are large stains at the bed's padded headboard. There are construction works going on in the adjacent building. I asked for a room with a view, and was given the entrance level, looking out at the pipes and scaffolding in the lower back yard. I needed to work, and needed WiFi and phone coverage. There were barely any phone coverage in the room, and the WiFi bandwidth was indufficient for Teams meetings. The meeting videos kept freezing, and we could often not understand each other because the audio kept breaking up. They reluctantly allowed me to change my room to one floor above. The phone coverage was slightly better, but the WiFi was just as bad. Service was average, at best. Don't expect anyone to smile at you.. Throughout a depressing stay.

I stayed at this hotel for the second time. Unfortunately this time it was not pleasant. The heating wouldn’t turn off, making it too hot and uncomfortable. There was a weird, persistent smell in my room and the window would open only with a lot of force. There was A LOT of mold in my room, me being allergic got sick from it. And in the end the toilet clogged and I could not flush. I do not think I will stay here again.

The room was absolutely tiny and the bed was really hard. The shower was dirty and had stuff all over the bottom of it. However the property was nice and the staff was very helpful.

Small compact bathroom but everything we needed including a decent powerful shower. Breakfast was okay - breakfast room was a bit small so not enough space for all guests comfortably. No AC in room which was a little uncomfortable on a hot day but we did have a fan.

Clean room, great location, fast wifi (room 210), reasonable breakfast, various tv channels, friendly staff, overall a nice little gem in the middle of London.

Overall this is was a relatively safe and convenient hotel. It was near several tube stations, pubs, and other amenities. I had a single room with a private bathroom. My room, 803, was in the basement. Although there is a lift, the lift does not go to the basement. My room was small, as expected, and the bathroom was a tiny combination shower/sink/toilet wet closet. If I stretched my legs out on the toilet they went under the sink and into the shower. It’s a wet room, so there are no bathroom outlets. 803 is basically under the basement stairs, so when everyone goes down the stairs for breakfast in the basement breakfast room, you hear everyone stomping above you. There is also a doorbell box for the main entrance in the basement hallway, so every time someone rings the doorbell at night to get into the hotel, you will hear it in your room. Please remove that doorbell box in the basement or provide ear plugs for rooms 802 and 803! Despite the noisy nature of room 803, I would likely stay again, but this time I would request a room NOT in the basement.

Room 802, where I stayed, is the size of a prison cell. No where to put clothes, no space to sit, always hot and the air conditioner only worked sporadically and intermittently. Out of 10 a ZERO. Breakfast out of 10, I would give it a ONE. Staff were good: courteous, polite, friendly. Out of 10, would give staff a SEVEN. WOULD NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL AGAIN.

The hotel is a good value for the price in a convenient part of London. Queensway is just a couple blocks away with a great M & S food store, restaurants, the Underground, and other conveniences. Basic but clean accommodations. No A/C, however a good fan provided and windows may be opened.

This is by far the most terrible hotel I have ever stayed in my entire life. I am eternally perplexed how it managed to get 3 stars. We booked a twin room, yet we were given an unbelievably tiny space that barely fit one person, let alone two. The bathroom was so small it was nearly unusable. The room faced a busy street, and the noise insulation was nonexistent—it felt like we were sleeping on the sidewalk. So we complain. Because, you know, a hotel is supposed to provide sleep—not a live-action reenactment of urban chaos. They move us. To a room where the heating is broken and set to ‘Surface of the Sun.’ It’s sub-zero outside. Inside, it was a sweat lodge. We kept the windows wide open, practically begging for frostbite, and yet we were still roasting. ‘Oh, sorry, it’s the weekend. Maintenance isn’t available.’ OH, WELL, THAT MAKES SENSE! Because clearly, heating emergencies respect a 9-to-5 work schedule. After even more begging, we were moved again—to ANOTHER hotel, owned by this manager. Caring Hotel. The bed was so tiny there is no way it would fit two people We physically could not sleep. She left early because it literally didn't fit us both. In the end, we asked for a refund. They get offended and say "we gave you options, you didn't like them". An ‘option’ implies at least one of the choices is functional.It's like serving someone a burnt steak, then replacing it with raw chicken, and then acting shocked when they don't want to eat a plate of ice cubes instead.

Nice, small hotel on a quiet side street in Bayswater/Notting Hill. Be advised - it is no-frills, no-fuss, and an (renovated) older building. Thus, no air-conditioning, small rooms, less than ideal soundproofing, and tight hallways. But the rooms are modern, clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would say it is good for short stays and solo travelers.

This is a good place for 1 maybe 2 nights. It was clean,we liked the window over the bed for fresh air and check in service was lovely and she held our bags for an hour after check out for free, very kind. We were there for 4 nights and the tiny tiny bathroom and small room space starts to get to you. No outlets next to the bed also tricky when you need to charge things.

The hotel held our luggage until we came back around 3pm. Hotel was in a great location, staff were all super friendly and the room was perfect for a couple of nights. Bed was comfy, room had an extra blanket if cold/fan if hot. Opening windows, private bathroom, tea/coffee and kettle in room. Breakfast was basic - but perfect for what we needed. Overall the stay was great. Will definitely be back! Thank you all!

First off all the door keys are not working so receptionist must come to open the door from the master card. This is inconvenient. Which will be hard to go outside and come back. Secondly the beds are not that clean there was white painting pieces and the coffee cups are stained. Not a good experience. In the morning it was so noisy which is annoying.

Clean functional room. Late night check in was a problem, with no one answering the door for 10+ minutes. I ended up trying other hotels in the area for rooms before returning where at last I was let in.

Friendly and professional staff. My room was in a very good condition.

35 min wait for a room at midnight due to someone being in the room. I called the hotel in advance to advise we would be checking in at midnight - I checked in online so we had an allocated room. When we arrived at midnight we found someone else in that room - Who was also understandably irate. We waited for 35mins before we could get a room. Pretty poor - wouldn’t stay again.

Great hotel, great price, great location, close to shops and two underground stations (Bayswater and Queensway) and it is peaceful and safe area of London. Lovely hotel, staff couldn’t do enough for us. Check in was at 3pm but due to us travelling for BST Hyde Park, we arrived around 11.15, we thought we would just leave our bags but the staff said no it’s okay we will get your room ready now so you can get ready for the event.

I was told I would have to request my room to be cleaned, I was staying only 2 nights and didn’t wish for my room to be serviced, I left the sign on the door but arrived back to find the sign missing and my room serviced, of course it’s not much of a bother but I didn’t like that somebody entered my room when I didn’t request it. I also did not receive the room I booked, I was given a key to a room which was already occupied and made for an awkward interaction. I was then given a different room in the basement. Neither of these are much of an issue, but I prefer things to be clear and as expected, no surprises.

Marketed as a three star hotel at a discount, it quickly became extremely obvious that this was a 2 star hotel I was paying full price for. The lock on my door broke so I was locked out for two hours and then had to switch rooms, the staff were mostly quite unhelpful, and the walls were quite thin so I could hear my neighbors quite clearly. I would strongly dissuade others from booking here.

Garden Court Hotel is a simple hotel, but has all the essentials for a comfortable stay and perfectly located to explore London. A beautiful safe quiet neighbourhood in Central London, within a walking distance to 3 underground stations, Kensington Gardens, Royal Albert Hall, several museums and delicious restaurants and coffee shops. The staff was very polite and responsive, addressed all our issues, questions and requests. Overall, great value for the money. We'd book it again for sure.

Excellent location. Clean, quiet building. Great front desk service. Room was small (travelling solo), so was perfect. Nothing fancy, but well maintained. It’s about a 5 minute or so walk to the Bayswater Tube station. Near stores, restaurants, grocery stores. Less than 15 minute walk to Kensington/Hyde Park. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

We stayed four nights at the Garden Court Hotel in Notting Hill. It is a nice, quiet area with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Just a few minutes walk also to the Baysbridge Tube Station and beautiful Kensington Gardens. We had a nice room with view of a little park. While the bathroom is small, the shower was amazing.

This is a nice place to stay with the key advantage being location. It is in between three subway stations that can get you to all around London. There are allot of local shops in all directions to support your trip including grocery stores, money exchange and a few gift shops, Its not very touristy. The street the hotel is on is quiet with a residential feel, but a 5 - 7 minute walk from all the shops and restaurants. Charming hotel and area. The hotel room itself was decent: Newer and clean and not too small (but not big noting large room hotels are usually newer and franchise names that are modern and nice but lack charm). We did have a light in the bathroom that was out and we reported it. They said they would fix it that day....but never did. (: The breakfast area is a bit cramped but functional. There is no AC! They do have a powerful fan. Overall a good place to stay.

All the staff were so kind. The hotel is located in a safe area, close to several train stations.There is also a beautiful park nearby, allowing you to relax even in the middle of London.There are also many restaurants and supermarkets nearby, so you can eat out or buy food and eat it in the hotel.

Excellent location to paddington station - only one stop away. Taxi also good - only £10 approx. Also good location for the west end and Kensington park Have stayed a few times before

Hotel was okay and close to Bayswater underground station. Area was nice with good shops and eatieries. The room was compact but as a base that little time was being spent in, it was manageable. Breakfast was disappointing - limited choice and limited space in the dining room. Due to the cramped space diners had to get up from their table to allow others to get to theirs/the food area. It was disorganised and chaotic, making it not a very relaxing experience. Staff were friendly and were accommodating with regards to us leaving luggage before check-in and after check-out.

Hotel was clean and tidy. Excellent value for money for its location. Breakfast choice was limited and could be better, but not the end of the world.

The property was in a nice residential area, close to 2 major tube stops. Room was a good size as was bathroom. We bought breakfast which was decent continental. Adequate to start your day. Lots of restaurants nearby. 15 minute walk to Kensington palace and Hyde park. Only complaint would be, even though it really cooled off at night, the room always stayed warm. No screens in the window so didnt want to leave it wide open. Only blanket was the comforter which was too warm. Asked for a sheet which they gave us. I would recommend and stay here again.

Breakfast is fenomenal

Lovely hotel on a quiet square. We were able to check in at 12:00, tea in the room, lift working. Lovely view of the square and garden. Quiet and clean. Hot water, good pressure in shower. Breakfast simple But sufficient. Ticked all the boxes.

Perfect location, clean and welcoming. Our room was tiny, and hot. Too small for a four night stay as there was really no floor space. Had the fan on all the time. Breakfast was good, staff were very helpful and friendly.

Pastries gone in 20 minutes for breakfast - great location.
