Lovely hotel, in the centre of St Andrews. Free parking outside (limited). Clean room. Friendly staff.

Beautifully furnished and decorated, while avoiding ostentation. Comfortable and welcoming. Spectacular sitting room/salon, with elegant bar. Staff attentive and upbeat. First class breakfast. My family and I will definitely be returning here.

No parking is available.. Staff could be a little more helpful. Rooms look a bit tired could use some upgrading. Staff, could be a bit more friendly to guests.

Stayed for a night and was thoroughly impressed. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, and were happy to store a suitcase as I’d arrived early. storage Bedroom and bathroom were spotless, with great range of shower products and refreshments. Lovely bed, great night’s sleep and an impressive range of breakfast food available, all very good quality. Only downside is the steps up to the hotel and lack of lift indoors, which was slightly difficult with a heavy case. Otherwise with the excellent location in town centre and welcoming atmosphere I would highly recommend and definitely return!

Very comfortable and quiet ! We stayed in the Bunker room, and even with it off of the main lobby, it was a very peaceful night! Very centrally located, able to walk anywhere in Saint Andrews, and lots of parking available on the street!

Room had a lovely terrace at the back. Room was very nice but bathroom was not the best, fine for a 3 star though.

Great place no elevator but clean good rooms and they have a room downstairs that I kept my golf clubs in. I’d stay there again

Lovely breakfast room overlooking a delightful walled garden and very delicious well prepared options. Lots of on street safe pull-in parking spaces. Easy walk to historical buildings, shopping, and dining venues. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you're coming to St Andrews.

Lovely little inn a short walking distance from St. Andrews Castle and Cathedral. Our room had a lovely little terrace overlooking the garden. A cozy and serene place to stay.

The Albany was a great location for our family visit to St. Andrews! The free parking and an easy walk in town were very convenient. The garden suite room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic! We appreciated the friendliness of the staff. Definitely a location to stay again!

Located right across from the University, and in the heart of dining and shopping activity. Just down the road from the Old Course et al. Hotel itself is modern, clean and cozy. Muni parking options can be a bit competitive during busy season, but it worked out fine for me, with guidance from the friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommended.

I personally was not going to note any negatives but I feel I should as there's some lessons for staff. The carpeted floor was not clean at point of check-in and required vacuuming, which I was happy to do myself so that I was sure it was done properly. The lay out of the room was also very frustrating, with access to bulit-in wardrobe blocked due to placement of an adult bed. I moved furnishings for the durations of my stay so that I could be more comfortable, and then moved back just before check-out. Where things really took a turn was when the shower in the room was ice-cold and would not heat up: in the end we actually needed to cancel our dinner reservation. Terribly embarrassing for my brother, he needed to have staff up to look at the shower whilst he was in his towels. He is still very upset over the experience and is not happy that we missed our birthday dinner, as this was the full point of the trip. There's also the matter of breakfast: despite staff requesting a slot you'd like to attend breakfast at (so there's a seating I presume), my brother and I waited more than 30 minutes beyond our arranged time, meaning we missed other plans we had arranged that morning. The cooked breakfast was also cold and we didn't feel like eating after all we'd been through. Given the price, I would certainly consider booking again – but I will also be speaking to the hotel directly to enquire about some sort of compensation or refund to help cover the cost next time around.

The hotel is very well situated for getting around St Andrews. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Breakfast was excellent. However our room was very small (smallest hotel shower room I have ever seen!) and the facilities in the room fairly sparse. No BBC signal on the television while we were there.

Bedroom dreadful. (Rm 5) Shower very weak and Freezing to scalding in a tiny 1mm turn. Room size tiny. Mattress so old and uncomfortable. Furniture scruffy. Floor in bathroom lifting. Desperately needs renovation. Full Breakfast good. Unfortunately the receptionist on arrival seemed miserable and didn’t even say hello welcome us or smile just asked for credit card. Not a great experience for the amount charged.

A great one night stay! Nice central location, great staff, and clean and comfortable rooms. Only small complaint is that the walls are quite thin- our room was next to the baggage storage and I could hear people in and out sometimes. But otherwise a great stay and highly recommend !

The room is small and basic but one of the nicest stays we’ve ever had. Nothing is a problem for the staff at the front desk. Genuinely the Lovliest people. The bed was so comfortable, fantastic quality linens and towels, great shower. What it lacks in size it makes up for in comfort. Easy walk to everything! What a find!

Like a giant hug, felt like a home away from home when the purpose of the trip was for an emergency for my son, a student at St Andrew's. They were so understanding and accommodating making that part of the trip zero worry.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The hotel coud use a little rennovating- but it is in a perfect location and an affordable alternative to the more expensive golf related hotels. Breakfast is simple and pleasant- overall, very good value and would stay again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was a trouble only down side possibly requires slightly up dating with decor and bedroom furniture apart from this we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back.

We loved this hotel—it feels like stepping into another era. The location is perfect, making it easy to explore while still feeling tucked away. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. A truly memorable experience!

We had a lovely stay at The Albany Hotel where we stayed while we visited St. Andrew’s University with my daughter. It was super convenient with feee parking right in front of the hotel. The room was very charming and the breakfast was excellent. I would definitely return.
