Pasadena Inn at Old Town, Los Angeles

We stayed 2 nights. Our corner room was very spacious with a fridge and microwave. Free parking was handy as the location is conveniently walkable to Old Town. Housekeeping must be upon request as our room was not cleaned while we were out. This was okay for us as we asked for fresh towels. We would definitely stay here again.

The Pasadena Inn is in a great location, right across the street from a Whole Foods with several nice restaurants within a few block radius and the center of Old Town about a 10-15 minute walk. This is really a Motel, with the rooms in a horseshoe around the lot. There's no lobby area to hang out in or workout facility. The rooms are clean but dated with some water stains on the ceiling and some cracks in the sink but the flooring appears pretty new. The beds were a bit squishy but the staff helped me find a room with a more firm bed. The pool is clean. There's a fridge/freezer and a microwave. The staff was very friendly and helped me a few times. They approved me checking out earlier than planned and were very helpful when Expedia tried to not give me my refund.

It was easy and free to park. Close to the gold line to get around without a car. Great location with Whole Foods right across the street

The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The pool is not nice like in the picture and I didn’t want to go in it which was disappointing since it was 90 degrees.

Advertised had laundry on property. Just an empty room. No appliances even though said guest laundry and hours of operation. Plaster in room poorly done painted poorly

This isn't a bad hotel but the pool was closed without apology, and yet we were still charged the 'resort' fee of 12 dollars, which is supposedly for extra facilities like the pool and the wifi. We weren't offered a wifi password on entry, only finding out you just had to ask after it was too late, and we also were unaware there was a free grab and go breakfast, so communication isn't great.

Parking was easy and very nice facility to stay in

When I arrived for check in the staff wasn’t ready for us , but the next day there was a different person and she was great, the pool was closed by a inspector , the elevator was pretty old , but the room had great space the beds and room where nice and clean, except for the bathroom it needed deep cleaning, but had free parking

Its a great proximity to Pasadena but this is as facility that has great potential but falls well short of a being a great place to stay. The lone ice machine was not working and our room had cracks and poor flooring along with the shower rack holding the soaps and shampoos falling off of the shower wall. They really need to get their act together as I would not recommend this place at all.

Bedsheets and towels were dirty, the sink leaked, the shower was dirty

I was very disappointed with this hotel. In the past it was in a lot better condition. The room I stayed in smelled really weird and I think it’s from all the mold in the room. I couldn’t belive they let people book rooms full of mold like this. The wall was coming apart and they just painted it over mold and all. The room was very run down and needed a deep cleaning.

The room had good climate control. The floor did not seem very clean and I chose to use slippers once I took my shoes off. There were many poorly patched holes and dents in the walls and it appeared to be mold in the shower. No body wash or hand or bath soap was provided.

Disappointing Stay - Not Worth the Price I stayed here over the weekend and was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. My room was not clean upon arrival, I found salt and hair on the sheets, and the floors hadn’t been cleaned. I asked to change rooms, but the other rooms were just as dirty or worse. Common areas like the stairs were also neglected. The breakfast was minimal, ran out quickly, and had very limited seating. I didn’t use the pool because I doubted the overall cleanliness of the place. The only positives were the friendly staff and the safe location, but unfortunately, these don’t make up for how unhygienic the hotel felt, especially considering the high price per night. Cleanliness should be a basic standard. I would not stay here again.

The room had a really funky smell from whatever they cleaned with. The grout in the bathroom was all moldy. The carpets in hallway were full of paint and filthy. Limited seating at the pool. The breakfast selections were very limited definitely not a custom upgraded breakfast. We checked out early and changed hotels

This place is not what the pictures make it seem. We couldn’t check in at 2p bc it was early which was fine but we got back at 4pm had to wait 46 minutes to be given the room keys. The room with two queens wasn’t clean yet. We had 5 people check in after us with single beds. It was just chaos. The blind was torn and has duct tape,food packets in the drawer, and cutlery. The grout and drain were disgusting in the restroom. The floors were dirty all outside and in the halls. It needed to be vacuumed. This place needs an overhaul.

The images did not match at all to what the rooms actually looked like. Our room door had a dent in it as if someone tried breaking in. Inside the blind were ripped, the room looked dirty, the dresser handle had what looked like dried blood that stained my hand when I tried to open it. The molding was coming off, the mini fridge door also had a dent as if someone hit it hard. And last but not least... BED BUGSSSSS. By far the worst room I habe booked. Save your time, money, and sanity by not booking a room here.

Bed was dirty. Pulled off the sheets and blanket and pillows and just used my own that I had in the car. Shower curtain looked crazy dirty. Bed was also terribly terribly uncomfortable. I’m torn because the customer service was great when checking in and out.

Liked the person at the desk...courteous, professional. The room was dusty with bits of paper on the floor, the bed end table had spill marks that had not been wiped, the bed was wrinkled (as though the sheets had not been replaced, the tub was full of dust and the sheets and towels smelled moldy/dusty (not fresh). I will not stay there again.

This place is the worst. The rooms were not clean, the bathroom door would not shut, the paint was peeling off the wall, it smelled like urine, the curtains were ripped and hanging off. We have stayed here in the past and it was decent. The state it was in this time was unacceptable. We ended up getting a refund and moving to another hotel.

The staff was so helpful. The air conditioner was loud and woke me up. only one light spread on the bed, but Housekeeping (bless their hearts) gave me a cozy blanket.

A nice and clean Hotel unfortunately poorly soundproofed, as we heard people next to our room and food tramping above our room until 02:00 AM ? The traffic noise did also interrupt our sleep! Location is great, Tony at the reception is very friendly and nice but it would be super if the noise interruption wouldn't be. Rooms are clean and recently remodeld.

The walls are thin, no proper insulation on windows and doors. You can hear everything happening outside the rooms. There was road work and jackhammering all night long. Couldn’t drown out the sound with the air conditioning because that was broken and made a clanking and high pitched whirring sound. Blankets were thin, pillows were thin, ceiling was cracked, shower was dirty. It just wasn’t a nice place to be.

Overall, the stay was very good. Room was spacious and clean. There were a couple of nits. One -- the room has some built in USB ports -- however, for the room I was in, they did not work. There was also a lamp on the desk that did not appear to have an on/off switch. The only way to turn it off -- you had to unplug it. Lastly, the breakfast area was in an open air area. Which could be a little cold in the morning. All minor nits -- but overall a pleasant stay.

It's a very basic place. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. Rooms are very much in need of renovation.

Room had dirty curtains, but overall was clean and spaceous. Parking was great! Staff was nice and easy to talk to. Breakfast ended earlier than I personally would have liked, but I'm not normally awake before 9am. Great location and decent pricing. Felt safe, had nearby food locations for restaurants and grocery locations. Overall a good place to stay- would go here again!

Good location. Rooms are sparsely

The location was convenient since there is a train station, and Whole Foods and Trader Joes within two blocks. Our room was very spacious for 4 people, but had a strong musty smell (likely from the AC unit). However if we kept the windows open, it would be loud from people walking by or cars on the street.

I was given keys to a room that wasn’t ready, then a key that didn’t work and had to cut through the crowd each time. Room was comfortable and quiet but was in need of a serious upgrade. Bathroom door squeaked loudly and wouldn’t close. Had to use a shoe as a door stop. Moulding in bathroom was falling off, exposing mold.

Great place for the price. Are the rooms top notch? No. Were they clean? Absolutely. There were some things in my room that needed repair but it was not integral to the quality of my stay. Again, I got what I paid for and was satisfied.The staff were super friendly and helpful. Easy check in/check out. Walkable food options in multiple price ranges. Light rail to anywhere just two blocks away. The area is great to walk and explore. I plan to come back to Pasadena and I'll probably be back to this hotel.

BEWARE. They charged me an extra $10 “services” fee. Then another $2 taxes on that fee. They did not disclose that until I checked in and read a flier on the counter top. There was no explanation for what it covered. The flier said this was not included in 3rd party booking platforms. This is a. Bad indicator.

I reserved two rooms with two queen beds each through Hotels.com. Upon arrival, the front desk claimed they had no record of my reservation—even after I showed them my confirmation. Eventually, they “found” a reservation but said it was only for one king room. Their solution? I could just pay them directly and handle the issue with Hotels.com myself. No assistance, no accountability—just an upsell under pressure. It felt like a scam, but we had no other option at that hour. The staff was unhelpful and dismissive from the start. Every reasonable request was met with a hard “no.” The property itself was in horrendous condition: the common areas, rooms, and even the parking lot were filthy. Mold, urine odors, broken toilets, burned-out outlets, and dim lighting were the norm. Our room had stained sheets and towels, so we bought our own from Walmart and threw them away after the stay The complimentary breakfast was a health hazard: dirty serving areas, reused utensils, overflowing trash, and barely warm powdered eggs and fake meat. Even the coffee was watered down. The pool? Disgusting—filled with floating trash, articles of clothing, and even a shoe at the bottom. Only one dirty table, and clearly not maintained or treated. The hotel’s “policies” seemed to change at random depending on who you spoke to. Ice was only available by request at the front desk, but staff frequently refused, saying they were “too busy.” Overall, this place was unsanitary, mismanaged, and downright bad.

Tony was so wonderful! He was kind, knowledgeable and I will be staying here again when traveling for work.

The front desk check in clerk was very polite, attentive and professional and well presented.

Although the room was clean, updated and quite comfortable, the inn is understaffed. It took several attempts to get a staff person to attend to something that needed fixed. At checkout, there was no one at the desk to serve the many waiting customers who needed to check out. If they can’t have enough staff for this purpose they should have a virtual or contact-less system.

Had made reservations on New Years Day and arrived at 9:30 to check in which of course is early. Room wasn’t ready and we couldn’t check in at all, said to come back later. Needed to use a restroom which they didn’t have, had no idea where we catch the shuttle to the Rose Bowl which they originally gave us info for. Came back in the evening to check in around 8:30 and they didn’t have a room for us. Told us to go find a room down the street! Told me I wouldn’t be charged, which I was and now I’m dealing with getting the money back. Had nowhere to stay and not in the condition to be driving around which is why we booked the room in the first place!

This is a great location for using public transportation to get to JPL. The hotel is at Del Mar Station on the Metro A line, a straight shot from Union Station. The JPL shuttle bus runs from the park on the other side of the station. Plus there are dining options in the area.

We stay at this hotel every summer! We love the Green Tree!!! So close to the metro line and Whole Foods right across the street! Awesome!!!!

Great location. Whole Foods walkable distance. Fast check in and check out. Friendly attentive staff. Rooms are ok, nothing fancy but spacious and overall clean.

The room was clean and well maintained. Front desk was friendly and check-in was fast. Parking was easy. Location is great for exploring oldtown Pasadena. We were able to work to old town in a few minutes.

Serviceable hotel in a great location, with kind and helpful staff. Good place to stay when your goal is to do things in Pasadena, not sit in your room. Comfortable bed, functional amenities (fridge, microwave, coffee, Internet).

Whole foods across the street. MTA subway a block away Del Mar stop. Colorado Blvd blocks away and walking distance. Lots of nearby place to eat as well.

I booked thru Expedia and was given a total price. When checking in, I was informed there was an extra fee of $12.50 because I booked thru a third party (this was not disclosed ahead of time). The room was dirty (the towels had rips and dirt on them). The breakfast was poor and served in a room that had open sides and the temperature was 51 degrees! Will not stay here again.

Good location and comfortable beds but also some unprofessional touches, like a coffee maker stacked on a microwave stacked on a refrigerator sending three electrical cords to only two outlets -- which appear to have blown a fuse causing the non-functioning refrigerator to leak water on the floor. Also the breakfast service didn't anticipate a sold-out hotel on a Sunday morning and ran out of everything. They also have The Epoch Times in the waiting room, which is kinda creepy if you know The Epoch Times story. Staff is friendly if not exactly buttoned-up.

All in all everything was good. The breakfast was sub par. Ran out of coffee and juice. Had to reheat food in microwave. The room was good, missing a toile paper roller. I know it might sound petty but could have been better. We would stay again.

Breakfast is not good. Almost all the guests used to joke about the breakfast. On the weekdays there is hardly anything to eat just bread and waffles. They don't replenish an item quickly if it is over. Sometimes they forget to keep milk, sometimes butter, etc. Internet would switch off several times and the staff does not know how to get it back. On two days it was not there for almost ,5-6 hours. I told the front desk about a choked sink immediately after I checked in. Gave two reminders. But it was not fixed for 6 days. All that the staff knows is to say - I am so sorry. Very clean and quite room.

The staff was friendly. The room was semi clean but only had one towel. The continental breakfast was a joke. They had coffee but no creamer, nothing other than a couple of yogurts and some stale cereal. No fruit other than a couple of apples. At night it was extremely loud from street noise and people coming and going all hours. Sheets had holes. We stayed here during Rose Bowl and while we know the rates were inflated during this time, we also know The hotel made a ton of money for those few days. Providing a better continental breakfast and making sure vending machines were stocked (couldn’t get bottled water anywhere) would have been appreciated. We definitely would not recommend staying here.

we have stayed here multiple times- breakfast is available until 9.30 but food and coffee is out before that.. weekends hot foods same thing -out for later guests.( some days there is fruit other days nothing ( very inconsistent ) we love location and staff … the rooms are spacious clean ( you need to request room service if you want it) parking is excellent

There was a pool. The bed was nice and clean. The rooms seemed half way updated with a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. However there was gum stuck to the side of my nightstand that wasn’t cleaned, the trim in the bathroom was coming off, the electrical strip on the side of the bed was loose and the toiletries in the shower seemed watered down. The breakfast was left to be desired and the room where it was had maintenance issues as well, like the cupboards were hanging off the hinge in places. We were there for 2 nights for a concert. It is in a great walkable location. I give it 3 stars for the maintenance issues and lack of attention to detail with updates. However the staff was very personable and friendly. There is a wholefoods accross the street where we ended up getting our coffee and breakfast. Despite the 3 stars, I didn’t feel dirty. I would stay here again, especially if there was another rose bowl event. It was just a bit pricey for the 3 stars, could have been because of the event.

I loved the hot breakfast with variety of items, eggs, sausage, turkey sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal and waffles as well as yogurts and muffins too. Juice, coffee and milk. It is outside with a covering so it was chilly for me, the street is very busy and noisy at night but safe and convenient to walk to restaurants and the Hilton about .5 mile away where I had a conference. The beds were so comfortable and there was a fridge and microwave that I appreciated in the room. Also parking is free. The room had some things that needed some work but overall it was a good experience.
