Facility felt tired and run down. Front desk staff was brilliant but the evening dining staff seemed bored. The breakfast staff was wonderful.

Photos clearly very old. Holes in carpets. Hairs in the shower. All very very tired. Sky bar closed. Just very run down. Tired and dirty

Worst hotel stay I've had in a long time. Nobody on reception for 5 minutes, found out the gym was out of order, the only reason I booked this hotel. My room smelt disgusting and I asked to be moved which I did and it was better. However, there was an ant running around the door I didn't dare look for anything else, there was no hair dryer so I left with wet hair, the milk tasted foul so no hot drink. I checked out and wasn't asked how my stay was even though they knew I had a serious complaint. This hotel is worn down and dirty. Not sure what's happened as it used to be spot on. Avoid!

Excellent friendly staff, helpful and welcoming in reception and bar. Basic room, but more than adequate. Towels purest fluffy white, acceptable hot breakfast. Would have liked a bottle of water in the room. Great views from 12th floor bar and our room.

Overnight stop on a long road trip, staff very friendly and welcoming at both very late check in and check out the following morning. Room basic but clean and comfortable. Adequate free parking.

Excellent value for money stay. Emily on reception and in the bar/restaurant were very helpful and friendly and were instrumental in us booking to stay again when next in Cannock for business. Good size rooms including air conditioning and a fridge Nice large towels and clean room. Easy free parking as well. Recommended.

Pleasant, friendly & polite staff, always happy to help. Easy hotel to negotiate to rooms and public areas. Quiet room with little noise from fellow residents. AC worked well and was quiet. Plenty of hot water at peak times. plenty of parking and decent sized bays. Meals were presented as advertised and well cooked with adequate portions by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. The grounds of the hotel need attention, Although there are plenty of ash bins that were emptied regularly and the area kept clear of litter, there were cigarette ends all over the gravelled area at the front entrance. Over use of silicone in bathrooms that had been left untidy and spoilt the overall look of the bathroom. Over all cleanliness is good but high areas need attention. Mattress in room was very soft, linen all very clean and pressed. Duvet tucked in all round the bed resulting in the guest having to remake the bottom sheet when going to bed? i only the bottom of the duvet had been tucked in leaving the sides to hang neatly this would be better for the guest experience. Over all a very good stay.

Parking is confusing upon arrival as the bays are marked for local businesses, but then told you can park anywhere. Check in was smooth and staff were polite. Room was adequate for the price paid, but there were some dubious stains on the chair in the room, the tv remote had some sort of goo all over the back of it and the tv was in the wrong place for the bed. Bed was comfy but pillows were lumpy. Air conditioning was fab. Shower was good but the shower head needed some attention. No teaspoons in the room.

Was quite concerned after i had booked, i heard horror stories, that the hotel was dirty, etc. Well that was completely wrong, rooms were good clean comfortable. What more could you ask for.

The room, 504, was in need updating. The mattress was sunken and uncomfortable. The hand basin is unstable, Room was not very clean with dust everywhere. In need of total redecoration.

Doesn’t deserve the extreme bad reviews. Undoubtedly needs an upgrade/modernisation in terms of decoration, however the rooms are clean, well-equipped and big; the beds are comfortable; and the staff are friendly. Definitely does the job if you want a cheap-ish one-night stay.

This stay was a bit of a disaster. Fortunately I was only there one night so I managed! The TV had no remote but I managed to turn it on to find that there was no signal. There was no ariel cable plugged in. The room was a little cold so I tried to turn on the air con. It didn't work. The shower door wouldn't close properly. The carpet was stained. The printer in the restraunt was broken so they couldn't print me a VAT receipt for my expenses (The food was OK though). The heating was broken in the restaurant, the gym was closed, there were no eggs at breakfast and it was a basic choice similar to what yo would get at Holiday Inn Express NOT Holiday inn which should be a lillte less "budget". The staff were very helpful and apologetic though and did a great job. I did report some of the issues and the staff did try to help but as I was only staying 1 night I just made the best of it.

The hotel was clean and comfortable but unfortunately the hotel was very noisy. I was on a work trip and managed about an hours sleep over 2

Great staff. Warm and welcoming. Breakfast was great and again breakfast staff were lovely. My only issue was I upgraded to a room with a bath tub. When I got there I was told by staff that none of the rooms had a bath tub and they didn’t know why it had been advised as this. Besides this for a nice stay it’s well worth the money

We stayed here on a quiet Sunday night - this didn't last. Soon after midnight (apparently), a guest punched the fire alarm box in reception and broke it. This obviously caused a false alarm. Myself and my disabled partner were in the process of getting up and getting dressed when the alarm stoped. Then started again, Then stopped. Then started again. We went downstairs to find three members of staff, who were more interested in explaining how this was due to the actions of one of the guests, rather than their fault, as they were struggling to reset the alarm. We went back to our room, but the alarm cotinued to go off intermittently for 45 minutes (by which time it was 1am). The idiot guest wasn't the fault of the hotel - but the fact that we were then kept awake by an intermittent fire alarm until 1am, for which we received no apology, did not go down well with me. There was no breakfast buffet (not enough guests staying to make it worth it), so breakfast was cooked to order. This took longer than anticipated, of course - fortunately, we'd allowed enough time, other guests might not have been so lucky.Breakfast was actually good - which is why this is a 2-star rather than 1-star review - although there wasn't a working hot-chocolate machine in the entire hotel, it seemed (my partner doesn't drink tea or coffee). The whole place just exuded an air of being a bit run-down. And there was a moth in the bed. Would not recomend.

The staff. All young but friendly and engaging - very impressed

Air conditioning didn’t work properly. Alternative provided was a small oscillating fan. Problem with door to the room locking properly. Had to try numerous times to make sure deadbolt was secure. Aside from this, the location was convenient for our time in the area.

The hotel location was perfect and it is away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help.specially Emily with the dark hair. The room was spotless and well maintained. The bed is incredibly comfortable and we slept soundly the whole night. The hotel atmosphere was very quiet The coffee is nice. I will recommend this to my friends.

The hotel is, well placed and comfortable... Air con worked well! Nice shower and room However the cold water system had a squeezing noise in the bathroom and bedroom... Which stopped when cold tap on on low flow. Brilliant reception staff, vety friendly and helpful... Top marks! .

My stay was very disappointing, the worst hotel i have stayed in this year . Poor bedding , very thin. The room smelt that someone had been smoking in there for weeks . Single bed small . Breakfast poor , no weekabix , hot was luke warm.
