Hotel Sonne was outstanding. In the middle of town, close to everything. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. There is no elevator, so be prepared for a few stairs. You can get a dronk from their bar and take it upstairs to a very quiet and private terrace. Highly recommended.

Note that the heritage building rules do not allow for an elevator, but the staff is very helpful and will take your luggage to and from your room. Parking was 20 € a day and 1st floor is Us equivalent to 2nd floor. Lots of stairs but employee was able to carry our luggage up for us. Free breakfast was wonderful and abundant. Highly recommend

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Sonne. The location is wonderful, right in the heart of the beautiful town. The hotel has parking in a separate but close location. The hotel owners are very nice, and went out of their way to assist us when some of the streets were closed and detoured because of Christmas markets. Beautiful location and nice breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was super clean . The staff were so friendly and polite. Lasse and Arletta were so kind and helpful . Mr. Do and Frau in the restaurant were so welcoming and pleasant , same as other waitresses. The dinner and breakfast was fantastic and delicious. The hotel is centrally located and everything is close by. Our room was at the third floor and we had the best view , but had lots of stairs to climb. our bed was very comfortable. The parking is hard to find and In another building , but Lasse was kind enough to come and showed us the parking . The only thing I can suggest is to have little lotion in the room. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Very nice small family hotel in the center of the historical town. Exceptionally friendly staff. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had in any hotel. Lovely clean room and bathroom. Nice view to the medieval center. The hotel and their separate garage was a little difficult to find with a car as traffic on the narrow alleys was strictly limited, but we got good instructions at the reception. The garage is only about 100 meters from the hotel.

What a wonderful experience we had at Hotel Sonne! Although our friends, my husband and I arrived early, the husband and wife proprietors greeted us warmly, and even had a staff member take our bags up the stairs to our rooms when they were ready. Charming decor throughout the hotel. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable and cozy. Spotless bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower. Lovely amenities were provided in the room and the bath. Outstanding breakfast was offered each morning. Drinks were available in the evening for a small but reasonable fee. We will always stay at Hotel Sonne in future trips to RodT.

The rooms were big. The buffet breakfast was great. The staff service was great. But the location was the best. You are a short walk from town center. They did lose a star because their front door and the ad on Hotels.com said they had air conditioning. They don’t. Even in September it’s needed. The fan helped.

The staff were absolutely amazing and very helpful. Unloading and parking is very bet tricky, call the staff and the will give you the perfect way to go about it. Overall an outstanding hotel and overall a very great experience. I would absolutely go back and stay with Sonne!

We stayed here one night on a 7-day trip from Munich to Frankfurt and so wish we would have planned to stay here longer. The hotel was in the perfect location…a 15-minute walk from the train station and a two-minute walk from the town square. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was roomy with terrific lighting. The hotel is owned by a husband and wife, and their daughter works there with them. You can tell how much they value their customers and want you to feel at home. The breakfast selection was incredible, and the service was impeccable! Great coffee! I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again! Can’t think of one negative thing to say about our stay!

Very nice hotel right next to the city center. We parked outside the town and walked in about 10 minutes to the hotel. Friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms with a welcome treat and excellent breakfast.

Hotel Sonne is in a great locatio. Close to the Market.The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are very comfortable. All of the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Arleta, one of the owners, greeted us at breakfast every morning and is so cheerful. Her daughter Isabella served us at dinner, and is like her mother, very cheerful. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options. The dinners were fabulous. Great selection and delicious. One thing that was tricky were the gps directions. It did take us directly to the hotel, but where we ended up was at the side, and there are no signs that showed the hotel name. Once the gps tells you that you have arrived, turn left down the narrow street (yes cars on that street are ok), and you will see the back entrance to the hotel on the right. (next to the glass shop). I would definitely recommend Hotel Sonne for your stay.

Hotel Sonne exceeded our expectations! Very friendly and welcoming staff! The buffet breakfast had lots of options including scrambled eggs and bacon. The rolls were so good! The location within the walls of Rothenburg ob der tauber was fantastic!

Très bel hôtel, bien situé. Le personnel était très sympathique et serviable. La chambre était un peu petite mais fonctionnelle. Le déjeuner était très bon et varié. Nous avons mangé au restaurant de l'hôtel. Nous n'avons pas apprécié notre repas. C'était un beau séjours et nous recommandons cet hôtel.

This is a beautiful family owned hotel about a block off the town market square. Owner, Lars, and his daughter, Isabelle, are gracious and helpful hosts. We were warmly welcomed and Lars assisted my husband to the parking garage. Isabelle was on hand 1st thing in the morning to greet us and escort us to our table. She speaks English, German, French and Spanish(although she says not as well) . The breakfast buffet was beautiful. The hotel is exceptionally cleaned and well-cared for - pride of ownership is evident! Really no need to look further - stay here!

Without question, one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at in recent times. Super helpful staff (Isabella) helped with parking, dinner recommendations and even selecting a local German spirit for a night cap. Fabulous room, hotel, location and breakfast just put the icing on the cake. Can not speak highly enough of the hotel, staff and vibe.
