Arden Hotel And Leisure Club

I have a blue badge and was unable to use the disabled car parking spaces as they had been taken up by non blue badge holders who had taken advantage of the park and fly offers which the hotel promote. Also the disabled parking places are further away from the hotel entrance than some other parking places.

Have stayed here several times - always great value for money, with friendly courteous staff. Comfy bed, incredible pillow, nice spa, great location, and loads of parking - what's not to like!?

Location wise if you are driving is fine with ample parking space. Overall hotel needs an upgrade but room are comfortable enough. We only stayed one night. Pool is fairly small but they have a nice jacuzzi. Could not ise as was preoccupied.

Ideal location to Resorts World, NEC and airport. However, it’s dated and tired and desperately needs an upgrade. The spa is similarly poor, the pool is cold and the whole thing needs sorting. Didn’t try the food but looked decent.

Excellent from start to finish, super room. Fantastic facilities esprhe swimming. Great selection at the bar including 0% beers. Safe and secure car parking. Particularly friendly and helpful staff throughout the establishment, but especially on reception on our arrival. I highly recommend this hotel. 👌

Staff were friendly, room Was clean. Food menus was decent. Leisure facilities average, jacuzzi had a strange smell and looked like it could do with a clean.

Nice hotel, with plenty of free parking. Within walking distance of the NEC, BP Pulse Arena and Resort World and also the train station and airport. Room was nice, clean and spacious, complimentary toiletries and a very well stocked tea tray. Good Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel. Nice bar and restaurant which was reasonably priced. Breakfast is buffet style and very well stocked. Food was beautiful. On site gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi which is free to use for all hotel residents. All staff very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

On arrival the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We went to our room. It looked a bit dated but clean ish. In the bathroom it was obvious that someone had urinated in the toilet with flushing it. No toilet roll holder. When showering the bath was not emptying. We phone reception and as it was at night we was told we would have to report it in the morning and wouldn’t be able to use it tonight. Fortunately we knew others staying in the hotel so we used their shower.

Hotel was comfortable for a nights stay. Rooms are dated and in neednof modernisation but does the job for a night stay. Bathroom very small sink right in front of face when on the toilet! Bath panel broken, hairs on the floor, bath panel full of dust and glass on shower panel needed a good clean!

The bathroom was cobweby and dusty - clearly not cleaned for a long time! When we checked out and complained there was no apology! Also finding a space in the car park was a nightmare as they’ve decided to make a fortune from B’ham 7/14 day airport parking - it was rammed!

Hotel very dated. Shower and taps poor pressure. Bath had damage and the carpet had an unknown sticky substance near the bed. Had a window facing the motorway so was very loud, but without the window open the room was too hot as no aircon. Essentially had to sleep with it being too noisy or too hot. Seems very overpriced for the state of the room. Staff were lovely though. Facilities ok, didn’t see the pool so can’t comment on that. Free parking was probably the best thing

The hotel is very dated, which would be okay, if it was at least clean. Dust, black mould, splattered greesy walls in the breakfast area. If I could rate a zero star for cleanliness, I would.

The bed is good. Rest was very bad. Unfriendly staff. Dirty varpets. Dirty bathroom. Bad breakfast. Very expensive.

I didn’t have breakfast. Great value hotel near the Nec. Helpful staff. The rooms feel a little dated, but still very acceptable overall.

The hotel was ok, in reality probably a little tired around the edges. The toilet flush didn't work very well and it was boiling hot in the room (to be fair it was the hottest day of the year so far) but there's no air con or fan's in the room (I may have been able to get one from reception but couldn't be bothered at 1.30am. The bed was comfy. My room came with a shower over the bath. The pool is very small, not really made for swimming more for a relaxing dip. There is a jacuzzi and steamroom / sauna both of which were nice and hot. The gym equipment is quite tired but functional. You have to book a slot for the pool via main reception. You then get a bath towel given to you by the pool and need a £1 coin if you intend using a locker which I wasn't told pre going and couldn't be bothered to walk back to my room or car to get.

staff amazing, room was clean and spacious. view was the road so super noisy if window was open and no temperature control so had to choose between being hot and stuffy or quiet enough to sleep. restaurant experience was very good. building and furniture is dated.

Good food, great staff, rooms are old, in need of renovation! Poor WiFi and very poor phone reception apparently due to the airport I’m told!!

It was ok for 1 night . great being able to use the pool facilities and the staff were welcoming and friendly , food at the bar was also very tasty Downside, told upon arrival about a party the night we stayed , they explained they moved us as far away as possible but turned out to be right below us. This went on till nearly midnight and could literally have had a party in our own room it was that loud, also we were placed right next to a door on the corridor which also banged loudly each time someone went through, one the party ended we then could hear lots of banging directly below us of them clearing up so got startled awake numerous times by the loud banging around , it didn’t really quieten till after 1am. People walking through the corridor and banging the door were also very loud so there seemed to be no noise proofing anywhere, can’t say it was the best nights sleep . If I’d known that we were going to be placed above a party I would have changed hotels prior to arrival ! The rooms are ok but the usb socket on one side of the bed was damaged and not able to used. The tap in the bathroom was also a bit random and was either very slow or full force so managed to soak ourselves a few times just trying to wash hands or brush teeth etc. The rooms are clean and a good size and had the basic amenities available. The breakfast was an extra £14 per person for the full English the next morning , the coffee was good value and food tasty with good items on offer .

Overall ok hotel, good parking with electric charge points. But the room was tired and in a poor state of repair. The bathroom didn't even have a latch or lock on it, so you could only push it too and would just open back up, not great for those wanting any privacy!

Great check-in. Room 189 a little dated, needed a overhaul, wooden furniture worn and marks, very hot room, radiator wasnt on, fan provided though and able to open window, albeit,next to a motorway so quite busy and noisy a.m. Paint work chipped, tiles missing in bathroom and old mould around bath and floor, hence, overhaul required. Bed lovely and clean and comfy. Staff were so helpful and TV remote was broken and a knew one was bought to the room within 5 mins. Also, my shoe broke and they fojnd some superglue and bought it to.my room....Thank-you so much!!

We stay at the Arden several times every year & will contininue to do so. With summer coming on, however, the Arden faces a long-term recurring problem--lack of air con. The hotel will provide fans upon request, but some rooms do get unbearably hot in summer. It's a major infrastructural problem with no easy solution. Open windows invite in the sound of passing trains...throughout the night. Very good dining--both meals & snacks. Friendly bar. Good casual seating areas. Offers a stay & park option for those flying from B'ham. Easy walk to both NEC & the airport. Highly recommended.

The property is walking distance to the arena (5 mins) and free parking. The negative is the hotel is so warm, the corridors and bedrooms are boiling! The ‘aircon’ in the room doesn’t work and was extremely hot all night. Can’t open windows due to noise from the motorway. Would only recommend to stay here if you are visiting Resorts World and can handle a boiling hot bedroom

My only complaint really is that it’s a little bit dated, but apart from that, the staff were fantastic and everything was clean and tidy.

I'll start off be complimenting the reception staff for their efforts, but the Duty Manager showed a complete disregard for guest health and welfare. There was a power cut in the area. Not a thing that the hotel could do about it but the power went off at 2.30 pm, I checked in at 4.15. There was time for me to be contacted and for me to make alternative arrangements. Because of the power outage their was no operational lift, corridor lighting was poor, no power in rooms (so no TV, internet, etc). To make matters worse, because their was no power the cold water pump was unable to circulate water to the rooms. So no toilet or washing facilities until 8.40 pm when a generator was brought in. The only working toilets were on the ground floor (bear in mind that there was no lighting in the corridors to find your way and the lifts weren't working. So anyone with walking difficulties could not access basic hygiene facilities. I discussed this with the Duty Manager, who simply advised that it was out of their hands....a very disappointing response when the hotel could not provide basic hygiene facilities. The electricity came back at some point through the night. Overall, a poor stay and a disappointing response from the Duty Manager

Been staying at the Arden for 20 + years. High standards maintained with pleasant attentive staff. Food, both in restaurant for evening meal, and breakfast, good.

Initially there were some issues with my room at check-in around noise but after a while the hotel resolved this and I had a great stay. Isabel on reception was brilliant.

We had a wonderful night stay on Wednesday 13th March before flying the next day. Using your park and fly option. The only staff member we really dealt with was a young man who worked the bar on that afternoon, can’t remember his name but he was very helpful and chatty, I can’t say the same for the female bar manager who took over from him, we found her very rude and spent more time chatting to her young female colleagues. I returned a pint of carling which was clearly flat but had been perfect all afternoon!, for her to say “just poor her another one”! And to continue discussing the issue with her colleagues when I sat down. Clearly needs to brush up on her customer service skills. Other than that we were very impressed with the hotel and found it great value for money and will certainly return

Receptionists were helpful and polite, clean room, comfortable bed and quiet environment. Excellent room service, and the food was delicious. The ONLY downside was that I had to request room service for two consecutive nights using my phone, because the telephone in the room (272), was not working. I reported it both nights, but they seemed unbothered. This led me to believe that they probably already knew. Otherwise it was a lovely stay and I will definitely return❤️

Attending a show at NEC, first time staying at Arden Hotel. Arrived late evening to BHX, directions to hotel are unclear, but the hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from Railway station via NEC. Tip is follow the signs for Resort World and Arden Hotel is located effectively behind the BP Pulse Arena, on the opposite side of the railway. You need to walk through a Car Park (6?), over the railway via the footpath beside the dual carriageway and to the Hotel. Maybe not ideal with heavy luggage, but no problem if travelling light.

Reasonably priced hotel near to the NEC. We had a last minute stop over at the NEC and had a comfortable room with all of the expected in-room facilities. The decor is a bit dated but in good condition. Can't really fault it for a quick stop over. Plus parking is free which is a huge bonus in that area!

Great location for the airport - a twelve minute walk to Birmingham International from which you can get the free monorail shuttle to the airport

Perfect for a 5 min walk to BP Pulse Live. Perfect for 10 min walk to Birmingham International train station. Spacious hotel, good car park spaces and friendly, helpful staff

The only negative thing was the air conditioner which only expelled warm or hot air. Otherwise no complaints. We pretty much got what we expected. The walk to the Resorts World Arena was less than 10 minutes. Awesome.

Easy to check in. Friendly staff. Bar food delicious and reasonable. Rooms dated but comfy. Ideal for NEC/BP Live just a 15 minute walk alone the main road. Would definitely book again.

Food was very reasonable price and excellent, and the bar staff was very efficient.

Hotel and rooms are very dated Room service food was cold and the quality was poor, I had fish chips and peas the chips and peas was cold they brought a new bowl of chips up but I had finished my dinner by then and when I spoke to the hotel they refunded £3 for the chips Hotel could be lovely but needs updating No room service menus in the room and no ironing board Went down to breakfast at 0630 to be told that the chef was not in yet so you could only have continental 2nd day at breakfast no pastries available

A great place to stay for the NEC. Emma was particularly helpful as we had booked a second night later in my partner’s name, which looked complicated! Parking was also excellent, with easy walk to NEC. And excellent breakfasts- what more could you want?! We’ll be back.

Good location for NEC. Large hotel rooms adequate but very poor breakfast. Evening meal was good.

Hotel was clean and staff were good. Hotel room was acceptable but bathroom shower screen leaked and the shower was mounted 5ft up the wall. That’s not much good when you are 6 foot 4”! I banged my head three times! We came down for breakfast a little late and were charged £14 each. But when we got to the counter there was only cooked breakfast left. No white bread, no pastries and limited jams etc. The cooked was good quality but it seemed expensive for the limited options. The gym was interesting as it’s accessed via the swimming pool up a spiral staircase. The equipment was then a little tired. The pool and jazuzi looked good but we didn’t use them.

Room was a good size - pool area was nice (only a couple of people in there). Able to use jacuzzi, sauna and steam room without any hassle of too many people. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as the food choices didn’t suit both of us. A fancy burger on the restaurant menu would have been a good option as we could all have eaten. Bar food was great.

Room was clean, lots of amenities, even accounted for the colder weather with extra heaters. Restaurant and bar food was great. Staff very friendly.
