Wonderful, old-world charm. Our room was nicely furnished, a little run down but very comfortable. The pool and garden area is an oasis of lush greenery, and very peaceful. The breakfasts and dinners was delectable, however lunch was a slow process. Many We would love to come back to stay again.

Starting from check-in to check-out, it was just perfect. By the time we finished our breakfast, to our pleasant surprise, our room was ready letting us an early check-in. The room was large with a sit-out overlooking the garden. As it was raining almost the whole day, we couldn't go out anywhere, so sitting out and watching the rain was a beautiful relaxing experience. The bathroom was extra large and clean with plenty of toiletries. We had almost all the meals in the hotel except for a couple of times when we went out for sight seeing. The breakfast/dinner buffet was a large spread with a well balanced combination of western and Indian cuisine and a large spread of delicious desserts. The best part was that one could also order something which was not part of the buffet and they were more than happy to serve. Plenty of hand sanitiser dispensers all over the hotel. Impressive compliance of covid protocol with almost every staff masked all the time. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay at the hotel with each staff going out of the way to help and serve. The service, whether at the front office or at Latitude/Tease, was just too impressive. We would like to specially thank Vikram and Santosh for letting us get away with anything we wanted to eat/drink even if it wasn't in the menu. We would also like to thank Upasana, Khizar, Kishore, Shalini, Aradhana and Ketan for their hospitality and making our stay comfortable and memorable.

Wonderful heritage property in Aurangabad, very convenient if you are planning to visit Ellora and/or Ajanta. Beautiful and spacious grounds with heritage decor. The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. Our airport pick-up arranged through the hotel was very convenient. Dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent with extensive, delicious choices. The dining room is beautiful and there is also outdoor seating in the large courtyard/garden. Unfortunately we didn't have time for the pool. Very serene, beautiful property. Rooms are large and nicely decorated - we even had a swing on our balcony! I wish we had more time to enjoy it!

The overall stay was made by the attentive staff and the real desire to please the guests. The food was good, the chef and staff in the restaurant were dedicated to giving you a good experience. The hotel has dated decor, but everything is fairly well maintained and a bit of croquet game in the grounds and massage on site did cheer me up. The hotel has 3 restaurants and the outdoor one looks great, we didn't try it as it didn't have veg options. The chinese restaurant smelled of too much perfume, leaving us with Lattitude, the main restaurant for each meal for 4 days. It had enough options to keep us satisfied. There is a large swimming pool and a tiny games area, nice to spend time in the hotel - along with a few shopping places within the complex. The reception and travel desk was immencely helpful for taking taxis (really good quality - with working seat belts and Air Conditioning units) We raised issues regarding marking of allergens but this was repeatedly ignored. The staff would bring the chef out each time to discuss needs, which was helpful but disruptive. The culture to say yes and struggling to follow thorugh is an issue in India, not just in this hotel. The hotel packed us a wonderful breakfast on the last day as we had an unsually early train to catch. So overall I recommend staying here.

This beautiful hotel is an oasis in the middle of Aurangabad. We enjoyed returning to the lush gardens and lovely pool after a day of sightseeing. The service is top notch! The architecture is inspired. However, it is a hotel that has long past its prime. The rooms have old fixtures, such as the bathrooms for instance. There is old caked on dirt, like you would expect in an older building. It has the feel of a Bangalore Club (where I am a member) with lovely architecture and gardens but somewhat run down. Don't expect a five star experience in terms of the rooms.

We recently stayed at Gateway Hotel Aurangabad (formerly Taj/Vivanta Taj) 26th Nov to 30th Nov! travel from USA. We have always loved this property, but this trip was a complete shock. The staff welcomed us warmly, but the room we received on the 3rd floor was extremely disappointing. There was a musty smell, the furniture was old, the bathroom shower door made noise and there were white stains under the sink which made it feel like a local lodge, not a Taj property. After complaining, the front desk thankfully on second day shifted us to a renovated room on the 2nd floor and the difference was huge. The renovated rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, but the older rooms clearly need urgent renovation. My strong recommendation is that the hotel should avoid allotting 3rd-floor rooms to foreigners or NRIs until renovations are complete. Breakfast buffet service was excellent, but the food options are mostly Indian/Maharashtrian, so non-Indian guests may find limited choices. Security checks are frequent and can feel irritating, but I understand they follow protocol. Despite the issues, the staff and housekeeping were polite, professional and very helpful. They even allowed us a late checkout despite a wedding booking. I will stay again only if the renovated rooms are guaranteed.

The rooms and especially the bathroom needs urgent renovation. The property is not good value for money. Sheets and towels were old and stained. The Chinese restaurant was good and so was the breakfast. The staff were trying really hard, but the property itself is not in good condition.

We stayed for 5 nights and were looked after very well. The staff were always helpful. The property is a bit older than others we have stayed at in India, but it is maintained very well and met our needs. The toiletries provided in the room were especially good. The gardens were beautiful & it was convenient to reach the major tourist sites with a car. I would recommend staying here & would stay again.

Excellent stay at Taj Vivanta Aurangabad. Couldn't be happier for choosing this facility. The room was very comfortable, very clean. Service was top notch and the staff was super helpful. Highly recommend to anyone planning to visit this area. Will stay again if visiting this area.

We recently stayed at Gateway Hotel Aurangabad (formerly Taj/Vivanta Taj) 26th Nov to 30th Nov! travel from USA. We have always loved this property, but this trip was a complete shock. The staff welcomed us warmly, but the room we received on the 3rd floor was extremely disappointing. There was a musty smell, the furniture was old, the bathroom shower door made noise and there were white stains under the sink which made it feel like a local lodge, not a Taj property. After complaining, the front desk thankfully on second day shifted us to a renovated room on the 2nd floor and the difference was huge. The renovated rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, but the older rooms clearly need urgent renovation. My strong recommendation is that the hotel should avoid allotting 3rd-floor rooms to foreigners or NRIs until renovations are complete. Breakfast buffet service was excellent, but the food options are mostly Indian/Maharashtrian, so non-Indian guests may find limited choices. Security checks are frequent and can feel irritating, but I understand they follow protocol. Despite the issues, the staff and housekeeping were polite, professional and very helpful. They even allowed us a late checkout despite a wedding booking. I will stay again only if the renovated rooms are guaranteed.

Wonderful, old-world charm. Our room was nicely furnished, a little run down but very comfortable. The pool and garden area is an oasis of lush greenery, and very peaceful. The breakfasts and dinners was delectable, however lunch was a slow process. Many We would love to come back to stay again.

Starting from check-in to check-out, it was just perfect. By the time we finished our breakfast, to our pleasant surprise, our room was ready letting us an early check-in. The room was large with a sit-out overlooking the garden. As it was raining almost the whole day, we couldn't go out anywhere, so sitting out and watching the rain was a beautiful relaxing experience. The bathroom was extra large and clean with plenty of toiletries. We had almost all the meals in the hotel except for a couple of times when we went out for sight seeing. The breakfast/dinner buffet was a large spread with a well balanced combination of western and Indian cuisine and a large spread of delicious desserts. The best part was that one could also order something which was not part of the buffet and they were more than happy to serve. Plenty of hand sanitiser dispensers all over the hotel. Impressive compliance of covid protocol with almost every staff masked all the time. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay at the hotel with each staff going out of the way to help and serve. The service, whether at the front office or at Latitude/Tease, was just too impressive. We would like to specially thank Vikram and Santosh for letting us get away with anything we wanted to eat/drink even if it wasn't in the menu. We would also like to thank Upasana, Khizar, Kishore, Shalini, Aradhana and Ketan for their hospitality and making our stay comfortable and memorable.

Wonderful heritage property in Aurangabad, very convenient if you are planning to visit Ellora and/or Ajanta. Beautiful and spacious grounds with heritage decor. The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. Our airport pick-up arranged through the hotel was very convenient. Dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent with extensive, delicious choices. The dining room is beautiful and there is also outdoor seating in the large courtyard/garden. Unfortunately we didn't have time for the pool. Very serene, beautiful property. Rooms are large and nicely decorated - we even had a swing on our balcony! I wish we had more time to enjoy it!

This beautiful hotel is an oasis in the middle of Aurangabad. We enjoyed returning to the lush gardens and lovely pool after a day of sightseeing. The service is top notch! The architecture is inspired. However, it is a hotel that has long past its prime. The rooms have old fixtures, such as the bathrooms for instance. There is old caked on dirt, like you would expect in an older building. It has the feel of a Bangalore Club (where I am a member) with lovely architecture and gardens but somewhat run down. Don't expect a five star experience in terms of the rooms.

We had stayed at Vivanta Aurangabad before, and this time too, the experience was great, staff were great (courteous, welcoming), service was awesome(timely). The in-house restaurant has varied options, and the chef and team were very friendly, and eager to help with custom requests. The room was nice, and we experienced the comfort and luxury of the hotel.

Very bad service. There was a wedding in the premises and so the entire bar and restaurant staff were busy with that. The bartender wasnt there and the guy gave us some vague drink after 1 hr and we skipped food. Spoit the enture evening.

The hospitality and service at Vivanta Aurangabad was way beyond expectations. Very friendly and cheerful staff. Food was delicious and dining staff was attentive to our requests. Hotel car service was great. Overall an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Exceptional stay - the staff were all wonderful and pleasant. The pool staff in particular were very kind to my son. The food was excellent. The chef was very pleasant and I appreciated that he went around to personally talk to guests at table to make sure everything was just right. The breakfast options and dinner options have something for everyone. This was such a wonderful experience and I will gladly come again when I visit India.

Excellent service provided by the staff. They are the number 1 asset of Vivanta. We arrived really early in the morning, and Anubhav allowed us to check in early. We were also allowed to eat breakfast brunch for one, for free, because one of us is going to be departing very early in the morning, and would not be able to make use of the usually included free brunch. I found this to be very reasonable, which you normally would not find at other properties in the US. Subsequently, our driver, Manoj took us on a local tour of Aurangabad and is very patient in telling us additional information about those places. Manoj is also very dependable, and dropped off my sister safely since she was taking a separate flight, much earlier in the morning. Vijay drove us to Ajanta, Elora, and other local sights of Aurangabad, and he was always very attentive, even going so far as to block traffic for me on these wild Indian roads, as I crossed over to take pictures of the various sights. Ahead of my trip, I had done extensive planning by calling to shore, he was very knowledgeable and detail oriented. As an example, when I asked him which specific caves are the most important to visit at Ajanta, he called up a tour guide that he knew, and had him speak with me on the phone. This is what I call as going above and beyond. There was one other gentleman (whose name I do not recall, but he was doing his internship) who brought me water when I was sitting in the lobby. Great job!

The Taj group always does a wonderful job but I feel the Vivanta Aurangabad really went above and beyond to make our stay lovely. The staff was so incredibly thoughtful, we got an unbelievable deal on the beautiful room and then the staff just kept doing things to go above and beyond. They set up a wonderful tour of Elora, packed our lunch, upgraded our room, and provided all sorts of small kindness. As improvements, we would love to suggest providing refillable glass bottles of filtered water in the room as a first choice and only bringing plastic bottled water on request as this would be so much more eco friendly. The Tea Room could also make some further effort to be more authentically Chinese. Overall our stay exceeded our expectations. Thank you Vivanta!

We stayed for 5 nights and were looked after very well. The staff were always helpful. The property is a bit older than others we have stayed at in India, but it is maintained very well and met our needs. The toiletries provided in the room were especially good. The gardens were beautiful & it was convenient to reach the major tourist sites with a car. I would recommend staying here & would stay again.

We recently stayed at Gateway Hotel Aurangabad (formerly Taj/Vivanta Taj) 26th Nov to 30th Nov! travel from USA. We have always loved this property, but this trip was a complete shock. The staff welcomed us warmly, but the room we received on the 3rd floor was extremely disappointing. There was a musty smell, the furniture was old, the bathroom shower door made noise and there were white stains under the sink which made it feel like a local lodge, not a Taj property. After complaining, the front desk thankfully on second day shifted us to a renovated room on the 2nd floor and the difference was huge. The renovated rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, but the older rooms clearly need urgent renovation. My strong recommendation is that the hotel should avoid allotting 3rd-floor rooms to foreigners or NRIs until renovations are complete. Breakfast buffet service was excellent, but the food options are mostly Indian/Maharashtrian, so non-Indian guests may find limited choices. Security checks are frequent and can feel irritating, but I understand they follow protocol. Despite the issues, the staff and housekeeping were polite, professional and very helpful. They even allowed us a late checkout despite a wedding booking. I will stay again only if the renovated rooms are guaranteed.

The chef was very pleasant and I appreciated that he went around to personally talk to guests at table to make sure everything was just right. The breakfast options and dinner options have something for everyone. This was such a wonderful experience and I will gladly come again when I visit India.

Wonderful, old-world charm. Our room was nicely furnished, a little run down but very comfortable. The pool and garden area is an oasis of lush greenery, and very peaceful. The breakfasts and dinners was delectable, however lunch was a slow process. Many We would love to come back to stay again.

Starting from check-in to check-out, it was just perfect. By the time we finished our breakfast, to our pleasant surprise, our room was ready letting us an early check-in. The room was large with a sit-out overlooking the garden. As it was raining almost the whole day, we couldn't go out anywhere, so sitting out and watching the rain was a beautiful relaxing experience. The bathroom was extra large and clean with plenty of toiletries. We had almost all the meals in the hotel except for a couple of times when we went out for sight seeing. The breakfast/dinner buffet was a large spread with a well balanced combination of western and Indian cuisine and a large spread of delicious desserts. The best part was that one could also order something which was not part of the buffet and they were more than happy to serve. Plenty of hand sanitiser dispensers all over the hotel. Impressive compliance of covid protocol with almost every staff masked all the time. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay at the hotel with each staff going out of the way to help and serve. The service, whether at the front office or at Latitude/Tease, was just too impressive. We would like to specially thank Vikram and Santosh for letting us get away with anything we wanted to eat/drink even if it wasn't in the menu. We would also like to thank Upasana, Khizar, Kishore, Shalini, Aradhana and Ketan for their hospitality and making our stay comfortable and memorable.

After a few hiccups on the first day, our stay was wonderful. The staff was very pleasant. The operations manager Suresh Verma checked on us regularly to make sure everything was alright and provided a free meal to compensate for the first day hiccups. The chef also made some dishes on request as some of us had developed a tummy bug. All in all Taj hospitality is the best!!

The rooms and especially the bathroom needs urgent renovation. The property is not good value for money. Sheets and towels were old and stained. The Chinese restaurant was good and so was the breakfast. The staff were trying really hard, but the property itself is not in good condition.

The overall stay was made by the attentive staff and the real desire to please the guests. The food was good, the chef and staff in the restaurant were dedicated to giving you a good experience. The hotel has dated decor, but everything is fairly well maintained and a bit of croquet game in the grounds and massage on site did cheer me up. The hotel has 3 restaurants and the outdoor one looks great, we didn't try it as it didn't have veg options. The chinese restaurant smelled of too much perfume, leaving us with Lattitude, the main restaurant for each meal for 4 days. It had enough options to keep us satisfied. There is a large swimming pool and a tiny games area, nice to spend time in the hotel - along with a few shopping places within the complex. The reception and travel desk was immencely helpful for taking taxis (really good quality - with working seat belts and Air Conditioning units) We raised issues regarding marking of allergens but this was repeatedly ignored. The staff would bring the chef out each time to discuss needs, which was helpful but disruptive. The culture to say yes and struggling to follow thorugh is an issue in India, not just in this hotel. The hotel packed us a wonderful breakfast on the last day as we had an unsually early train to catch. So overall I recommend staying here.

We had stayed at Vivanta Aurangabad before, and this time too, the experience was great, staff were great (courteous, welcoming), service was awesome(timely). The in-house restaurant has varied options, and the chef and team were very friendly, and eager to help with custom requests. The room was nice, and we experienced the comfort and luxury of the hotel.

Our family of ten stayed at this property for three nights in early July. Being a five star hotel, our expectations were high. We were happy that not only the property met the standards of cleanliness, amenities, aesthetics - the staff went over and above to make our stay comfortable. They were very friendly, mindful of everyone’s needs, and even proactively provided for some needs that we hadn’t expressed. A big shout out to the Latitude restaurant’s head chef, manager and staff for taking pride in their work and being such gracious hosts. A memorable stay indeed!
