Moby Dick Hotel

Room was clean and of modest size, but even with private bath seemed overpriced. The host could not provide a room key, either at check-in or an hour later when we went off-site for dinner. We felt this was unprofessional and unreasonable. When a room key was finally produced later that night, it was unnecessary as we were checking out the next morning. Other minor issues: bedside clock did not keep time, no facial tissue in the bathroom, water glasses were undersized and held perhaps a quarter cup of water (enough to wash down one pill), the room's two windows had ill-fitting mini-blinds allowing morning light into the room due to the gap between the blinds and window frames. The one flat space in the bathroom for setting down personal items was occupied by an oversized coffee table book, inexplicably located immediately next to an open sided walk-in shower. The hardwood floor hallway outside the room amplified the sound of every guest in a shared hallway, disrupting our sleep throughout the night. We have stayed in less expensive hotels which better understood the basic needs of guests. To top it off, when we saw our host at a local event less than two hours after check-out, no effort was made to acknowledge us or inquire if our stay had been satisfactory. The host seemed disinterested in our comfort or goodwill, which is unfortunate, as we have periodic lodging needs in the area but our experience this time is enough to discourage any return visit.

Staff was great, just needed wash clothes in room. Website needs work though explaining about which rooms have private bathrooms. We got to move to a room with a private bathroom. The staff was very helpful with that. Also Website needs to explain about rooms with extra beds are a separate room. Also there was a notification about no pets but didn't have any information on service dogs. Otherwise, We loved the spot, the room and the area! Can't wait to see what they do with all the building upgrades they're working on! We definitely will stay again. Like to bring the whole family for a big family reunion!

Relaxing, clean, and a very kind and attentive staff. This is the best and only place Ill stay when I visit the Willapa Bay area

The hotel is nicely restored and charming. The room was clean and fresh. There’s an easy path down to the bay.
