Unfortunately I was woken by other guests kicking on doors and making lots of noise after 11.30pm. Must have been no one on site to fix it he situation.

I recently stayed at Comfort Inn Ballina and, unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The room itself was okay, but certainly not what I would consider particularly impressive. My main concern was the Smart TV and internet connection. When I arrived, the room had a Smart TV, which I reasonably expected would allow me to use common streaming services such as Netflix or YouTube. However, the TV could not connect to the internet. I contacted reception and a gentleman came to my room to assist. Unfortunately, he was also unable to work out why the TV was not connecting. I was then advised that the free-to-air TV was working and was asked whether there was anything I wanted to watch on it. I don’t watch free-to-air television, so this was not really a solution. As a result, I ended up not being able to watch anything during my stay. In my view, a functioning Smart TV with internet connectivity is now a fairly standard amenity in hotels and motels, particularly when a Smart TV is provided in the room. I would expect the property to routinely check room amenities and equipment as part of normal maintenance and housekeeping processes, so that problems are identified and fixed before a guest checks in. Unfortunately, the stay was also affected by significant traffic noise from the highway, which made it difficult to sleep properly. I appreciate that the property cannot control highway traffic, but the impact on guests should at least be recognised.
