the hotel seemed a bit worn down, espacially the gym where the equipment was old and rusty. Didn't want to use it. The hotel has a fantastic location first line to the waterfront, but it is not a 4-star hotel.

Väldigt tyst. Även på rummet. Trevlig personal. God frukost. Provade bara en kvällsbuffe, italienskt, som var gott. Underbar havsutsikt mot alla båtar som passerade. Bra läge. Lätt ta sig in till centrala Funchal. Fanns shuttlebus. En del restauranger nära. Alforno bäst!

Great location and view of the ocean. Nice outdoor pool and easy access to chairs and umbrellas. Breakfast has good selections and variations. Room was spacious and had fantastic balcony with secluded sea view. Will definitely come back.

Liked some of the rooms being on a cliff are below reception floor and loved the sound of the crashing waves. Only dislike having to pay for key to safe which is a bit outdated now

Gutes 4 Sterne Hotel in ruhiger Lage mit hervorragendem Blick mit guter Grundausstattung. Leider in die Jahre gekommen, bis auf Lobby und Restaurant renovierungsbedürftig. Triste Gestaltung der Außenanlagen, Mobiliar müsste erneuert werden, SPA Bereich und Fitnessraum veraltet und nicht schön gestaltet. Servicepersonal nur teilweise freundlich und motiviert (Tische auf der schönen Terrasse nicht eingedeckt, keine Kissen auf den Stühlen, musste man alles zum Teil selbst organisieren). Rezeption sehr gut, Zimmerreinigung ohne Beanstandung. Frühstücksbuffet gut, leider wenig Abwechslung, keine frisch zubereiteten Speisen wie sonst im 4 Sterne Hotel Standard. Safe wurde mit 15 EUR pro Woche berechnet, sollte normalerweise aus unserer Sicht kostenlos sein. Poolbar leider nicht ansprechend und lieblos.

The Madeira Regency Cliff Hotel was in the most pefect location, we had a room overlooking the sea which was amazing. The hotel was very quiet, it seems to be popular with the more older traveller, so no noisy drunks coming back during the early hours. The main doors are kept locked at night which adds to the safety, although this can be an issue when arriving or departing during the night. The breakfast had a good choice and was always hot and fresh, and the staff were attentive. There are a lot of hills here but the hotel offers a free bookable courtesy car to and from the centre, and the main shopping centre is opposite the hotel, as are the local bus stops, which charge around €2 each to the marina. There is a chargeable minibar and free fruit and water in the room on arrival. Overall extremely pleased with our stay and would stay again.

I stayed at Regency Cliff a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. I was not disappointed this time and will certainly stay there again. The staff are very helpful. The food is good, cleanliness first class. Nothing not to like. The views ftom the balcony were exceptional - so relaxing.

This was our first trip to th Regency Cliff Bay hotel . From the moment we arrived we found the staff to be friendly and prepared to help you. We booked a premium room and can I say the view was Stunning. The room was spotless and cleaned everyday by very efficient staff.the breakfast was buffet style which had more than enough selection. We booked one a la carte meal , which we found to be super.

Das Hotel Regency Cliff in Funchal konnte meine Erwartungen an ein Vier-Sterne-Hotel leider nicht erfüllen. Schon bei der Anreise gab es erste Enttäuschungen: Trotz Flugverspätung und einer Ankunft 22 Stunden später wurde weder nachgefragt, noch ein neuer Shuttle zum Hotel organisiert – obwohl ich das rechtzeitig mitgeteilt hatte. Das Zimmer selbst war ein gemischtes Erlebnis. Die Betten waren zwar bequem, doch das Bad hinterließ einen schlechten Eindruck: Ein abgenutzter Zustand, eine kaputte Duschhalterung und ein wackelnder Toilettendeckel minderten das Wohlfühlgefühl deutlich. Der Fernseher war kleiner als jeder normale Arbeitsbildschirm, und der Sonnenschutzvorhang bröselte buchstäblich vor sich hin. Das Frühstück bot zwar eine große Auswahl, war jedoch wenig abwechslungsreich, was nach ein paar Tagen eintönig wurde. Positiv hervorzuheben ist die Freundlichkeit des Personals, die insgesamt in Ordnung war, auch wenn es keinen besonderen Servicegedanken zu spüren gab. Insgesamt ist das Hotel akzeptabel, aber für ein Vier-Sterne-Haus auf Madeira hätte ich deutlich mehr erwartet. Es sind vor allem die Details, die hier enttäuschen. Lovely clean and quiet hotel. Staff were superb, went as far as chasing my wife and I down to give a free chocolate cake for her birthday. Breakfast was fabulous and plenty of choice. Biggest bed I have ever slept on and the room is spacious, clean and modern. Highly recommended hotel

This is our second stay at this hotel and didn't disappoint. All the staff couldn't do enough for you and all happy faces. The view from the room was amazing. Breakfast is lovely with a good choice for everyone. The rooms are kept spotless. From the hotel you can walk into Funchal or 2 euro for a bus outside the hotel. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Will be back next year.

Impressed by the size of the room - more of a suite than a conventional room - one of the best hotels my wife and I have stayed in during many years of travel. Location provides easy access to all that Madeira has to offer, without the bustle of Funchal.

This was our first trip to th Regency Cliff Bay hotel . From the moment we arrived we found the staff to be friendly and prepared to help you. We booked a premium room and can I say the view was Stunning. The room was spotless and cleaned everyday by very efficient staff.the breakfast was buffet style which had more than enough selection. We booked one a la carte meal , which we found to be super.

We had a fantastic stay. Upon arrival, they surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite, which made our trip even more special. The views were absolutely stunning, and the entire staff was friendly, helpful, and informative throughout our stay. You can really tell they care about their guests. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madeira and will definitely stay here again when I return.

This is our second stay at this hotel and didn't disappoint. All the staff couldn't do enough for you and all happy faces. The view from the room was amazing. Breakfast is lovely with a good choice for everyone. The rooms are kept spotless. From the hotel you can walk into Funchal or 2 euro for a bus outside the hotel. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Will be back next year.

The Madeira Regency Cliff Hotel was in the most pefect location, we had a room overlooking the sea which was amazing. The hotel was very quiet, it seems to be popular with the more older traveller, so no noisy drunks coming back during the early hours. The main doors are kept locked at night which adds to the safety, although this can be an issue when arriving or departing during the night. The breakfast had a good choice and was always hot and fresh, and the staff were attentive. There are a lot of hills here but the hotel offers a free bookable courtesy car to and from the centre, and the main shopping centre is opposite the hotel, as are the local bus stops, which charge around €2 each to the marina. There is a chargeable minibar and free fruit and water in the room on arrival. Overall extremely pleased with our stay and would stay again.

Das Hotel Regency Cliff in Funchal konnte meine Erwartungen an ein Vier-Sterne-Hotel leider nicht erfüllen. Schon bei der Anreise gab es erste Enttäuschungen: Trotz Flugverspätung und einer Ankunft 22 Stunden später wurde weder nachgefragt, noch ein neuer Shuttle zum Hotel organisiert – obwohl ich das rechtzeitig mitgeteilt hatte. Das Zimmer selbst war ein gemischtes Erlebnis. Die Betten waren zwar bequem, doch das Bad hinterließ einen schlechten Eindruck: Ein abgenutzter Zustand, eine kaputte Duschhalterung und ein wackelnder Toilettendeckel minderten das Wohlfühlgefühl deutlich. Der Fernseher war kleiner als jeder normale Arbeitsbildschirm, und der Sonnenschutzvorhang bröselte buchstäblich vor sich hin. Das Frühstück bot zwar eine große Auswahl, war jedoch wenig abwechslungsreich, was nach ein paar Tagen eintönig wurde. Positiv hervorzuheben ist die Freundlichkeit des Personals, die insgesamt in Ordnung war, auch wenn es keinen besonderen Servicegedanken zu spüren gab. Insgesamt ist das Hotel akzeptabel, aber für ein Vier-Sterne-Haus auf Madeira hätte ich deutlich mehr erwartet. Es sind vor allem die Details, die hier enttäuschen. Gutes 4 Sterne Hotel in ruhiger Lage mit hervorragendem Blick mit guter Grundausstattung. Leider in die Jahre gekommen, bis auf Lobby und Restaurant renovierungsbedürftig. Triste Gestaltung der Außenanlagen, Mobiliar müsste erneuert werden, SPA Bereich und Fitnessraum veraltet und nicht schön gestaltet. Servicepersonal nur teilweise freundlich und motiviert (Tische auf der schönen Terrasse nicht eingedeckt, keine Kissen auf den Stühlen, musste man alles zum Teil selbst organisieren). Rezeption sehr gut, Zimmerreinigung ohne Beanstandung. Frühstücksbuffet gut, leider wenig Abwechslung, keine frisch zubereiteten Speisen wie sonst im 4 Sterne Hotel Standard. Safe wurde mit 15 EUR pro Woche berechnet, sollte normalerweise aus unserer Sicht kostenlos sein. Poolbar leider nicht ansprechend und lieblos.

We had a great stay! Wonderful location by the sea, the Lido promenade and a bathing complex. Good breakfast. Beautiful view from the breakfast terrace and pool area. There is also a small gym and an indoor pool. The photos of the hotel do not do the hotel justice. Our room had fridge, slippers, bathrobes and a balcony with a breathtaking view. Beds were comfortable but sheets a bit too small for the madrass and cover. Restaurants and a small shopping mall nearby. Easy to take a bus to town.

Loved the location and views from room 310! 2 balconies and very roomy. Will definitely stay there again. Loved breakfast and dinner buffets and sitting on terrace overlooking ocean. Loved piano music. The only negative is the parking. We did find good spots close by and once parked in very very tight parking garage that only has 6 spaces. Overall one of the best places we have ever stayed.

Lovely large room we had 2 balconies the room was very clean. The bed was really comfortable and we had bottled water replenished in the room as well as receiving a basket of fruit. The pool area was nice with plenty of sun beds - pool was a little cold for us. During the day drinks and snacks are available here. Really good area to stay not too hilly and good access to the sea walk. Bus stops within a few minutes of hotel to Funchal town .. hop on hop off bus also stops at the bus stop. Breakfast was really good plenty of choice and we had buffet dinner one evening. Everywhere was clean and tidy and the staff were great. We will definitely stay again and for longer.
