Hotel El Pescador

We stayed for 4 nights. Had the beach side view. Gorgeous sunsets. Pool was clean and open until 9pm. It was quiet and peaceful at night. Staff was kind and ready to help anytime. It was only a 5-10min walk to the Malecon. Lots of shops and places to eat. I would highly recommend.

Very clean, nice pool, beautiful views, good breakfast, very nice staff, great part of town. Very family oriented in addition to older retirees.

The checkin was quick, staff were helpful, hotel was beautiful, clean, lovely pool next to oceanfront restaurant. Walkable safe neighborhood. What more do i want??

Vary clean, location close to the downtown area. Easy walking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars. The only problem we had with the hotel they are stuck in the 80’S where you place a towel on the chair around the pool to save your chair.

No queen or king beds.But that was are only complaint. Staff were helpful and friendly. The pool area is extremely well kept. The beach has easy acess out the gate.

El precio corresponde con lo ofrecido: no es espectacular, pero se encuentra en una zona accesible para moverse entre a la zona romántica, el centro, malecón, naval. La alberca muy limpia y en buen estado. Las camas y condición del hotel en general aunque un poco viejo, cuenta con mantenimiento, limpio y bien conservado. El bufet malo, todos los días ofrecen lo mismo. Tiene acceso a la playa pero no cuenta con camastros ni sombrillas directamente en la arena, sólo en la zona de alberca.

They need more chairs and lounges by the pool.

A great beachfront hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms, good food at reasonable prices, and a beautiful pool. A few more chairs at the pool would be good.

Hotel location is excellent and staff is welcoming. Cleanliness needs attention as sheets had stains. Room does not have enough outlets to charge phones. Hotel is outdated.

All of the staff here are friendly and respectful. They do an excellent job keeping every area spotless—from the rooms and restaurant to the walkways and pool. The entire property is exceptionally well-maintained around the clock.

Room was very clean. Close to the Malecón within walking distance. Good breakfast.

Me asignaron el cuarto 232 y tenía mal olor a humedad, no servía la refrigeración fue un olor que no pudimos dormir de la peste a humedad pésima noche nos hicieron pasar

The hotel was clean and right on the beach, the only improvement I could recommend is the food could have been better.

The first day we got there, our room wasn’t ready that was OK we waited, but we waited for three hours. The room they gave us was filthy, dirty, even look like it had blood on the floor, front desk clerks were very rude they showed us the room I came back down. They said they didn’t have any other rooms available. We could change the next day for an increase in price that was unacceptable. We canceled our room with Expedia and went across the street to a wonderful little boutique hotel, the clerk at the front desk said they would refund our money. It has been 10 days and I finally called back and they charged us one night stay that was OK but my capital one credit card would not let the charge go through because this property has so many disputes for being unsatisfactory so that tells you right there find another place .

Very clean

I just had my first experience at El Pescador where I stayed one night between coming back from Yelapa and flying home (US - Midwest). I had a pleasant experience. All of the common areas are well kept and the service was some of the best I've received. Room was clean and in totally acceptable condition given the age of the hotel itself. The mattresses are firm. My room was on the second floor overlooking the pool. I noticed no sewage smell at any time during my 22 hour stay. My room was ready despite my arriving at 1:30pm. The FREE breakfast is only juice, coffee, a plate of daily fruit, and bread with butter and jam. The bread was delicious as was the watermelon, and the meal was completely satisfying. If you are expecting a 3 star hotel that is clean with a restaurant and exceptional service, and a nice clean pool, this is a great spot. Malecon is only a few blocks, and there is lots of shopping on the way there. The beach was nice but not Los Muertos nice. I understand the fence as there is some graffiti and those without housing who sleep on the beach, so the fence is necessary for security purposes. If you are turned off by a minor amount of graffiti and homeless presence, then you likely would not be happy here. I would absolutely stay again for a similar trip. What could be improved - I had 3 towels and a bathmat in the bathroom but no hand towel(s) or washclothe(s). A microwave if not in the room, in a common area, would be nice to heat up left overs versus having to

Room was good . Staff were good . Pool was crowded and very noisy . Very loud. parties until 2am . Also very loud domestic disputes until 3am with no intervention from security or staff .

The ocean view room has an amazing view from the balcony. The full sized fridge and free drinking water was great to have. We would gladly return.

The room was great! We had a family room, with a king bed in one room and 3 singles in the other and a fridge. Balconies in both rooms, one city view and one ocean view that we were not expecting. Unfortunately the city view balcony was covered with a large banner. When we enquired about it they said it would be coming down in the next couple of days. It was still up when we left. We are budget minded travellers and I would say this is the best hotel we have stayed in for the price in pv.

We have stayed a couple times beds are super hard but very good location and nice staff. Breakfast well not great but restaurant across the street is excellent.

Our room had a nice balcony with ocean and pool views. The hotel is pretty dated but the beds were comfy and the room was big. The only thing was a lack of plug in outlets in the room.

El personal tarda mucho en servirte el desayuno de cortesía, además de atender primero a los extranjeros, no conviene aceptar el desayuno de cortesía, preferible ir a desayunar en otro lugar ya que si deseas el desayuno buffet solo es huevo y chilaquiles por un costo extra de más de 100 pesos por persona

Me encanto el hotel, su ubicación, muy limpio, seguro, tranquilo y el personal muy amable atento y eficiente, Lo recomiendo ampliamente

It was OK, served its purpose. the place is getting old and needs maintenance. The reception at check in was slow and person lacked politness. Checkout was much better. The location is great… nice walk to Malecon. However, walk to the opposite and the street is dirty, smells garbage.

The place is cool and chill. The bell boy and serving staff are lovely... The check in and front desk people are miserable and grouchy. It felt like we were checking in and out of jail. They definitely need some training in customer service.... When folks are checking in for a glammy hotel and vacation, it shouldn't feel like we're in trouble or like we'll do something wrong. Or.... Get some fresh friendly staff in their place!!!! But ya, the entry way / taxi service men upon arrival are incredible!

The location of this hotel was convenient to the Malacon and the surrounding area with lots of shopping and restaurants. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. I would recommend a beach view room as opposed to a city view room. Waves crashing on the beach are much more soothing than street noises, car horns and loud people at late hours. Having a refrigerator and access to bottled water was a bonus. The restaurant is not very big and often times there was a lineup in the morning for breakfast. The pool area was very nice but it was difficult to get a lounge chair as guests would save them early in the morning and not necessarily use them until later. Overall we would only go back if we got an ocean view.

Thr location was perfect on the beach and the pool was clean and refreshing. The breakfast was really good. Its a short walk to the historic and art areas. I would recommend river shoes.for the rocky shore. But the stay waa really nice.

Nice area. One side is at the beach and other side is on the street just a walk away from the boardwalk in Malecon. Would absolutely stay here again

The location is great. Not too touristy so you can enjoy more authentic cuisine in the area. It’s close to the Malecon with access to the beach (no beach chairs or towels provided by hotel). The beach is a bit rocky. The staff is friendly, the room was clean and modern. The free “breakfast” is awful. Go elsewhere to eat, lots of great options in the area. The room we had had a fridge and ocean view which were nice. For one night the stay was sufficient for our family of 3 (two adults and a teen). We would not stay here longer the bed was too small for two adults, our room had a vile smell, and too many screaming children at the hotel.

Review for El Pescador Hotel I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at El Pescador. The location is unbeatable—just steps from the Malecón, making it perfect for easy walks along the waterfront and access to shops, restaurants, and nightlife. Despite being so close to the action, the hotel itself is quiet and peaceful—great for a relaxing getaway. The rooms and common areas were very clean, and the pool was a definite highlight: sparkling, well-maintained, and never too crowded. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made check-in and my entire stay smooth and welcoming. Pro tip: when you leave the hotel, turn left and grab the fish tacos on the corner—you won’t regret it. Delicious and authentic! Would definitely stay here again.

The location is excellent just a short walk to the Malecon. We sstayed in a room with an ocean view and a balcony which was very good. The pool with direct access to the beach is excellent. The supermarket close by is very handy

Have never stayed in a beachside hotel and quite loved it. The hotel is older but clean and well kept. I loved the barrel vaulted brick ceilings. So authentically Mexican. The location is perfect, at the north end of the Malecon easy walking distance to everything, but generally quiet (except for the squeals of joy). There is a decent restaurant on site with many good ones within walking distance. Beds were comfortable, sheets and towels were clean and bathrooms sparkled. All in all a good spot to stay.

Bathroom was tiny, never offered a menu, didn't know we could have done something besides continental breakfast or buffet, which was same everyday. Hear EVERYTHING going on outside of room. Location was great, pool nice.

My only complaint is the coupons that you have to use to get a continental breakfast. As soon as you let them know that you plan to only use the coupon, they drag their feet and make you wait a long time. Their service is slow and even when you plan an order, they take a long time. I wouldn’t pay for breakfast when making a reservation.

Liked the direct access to the beach and the closeness to the main strip. The supposed complimentary breakfast is more of a coffee and small piece of fruit. Kids under 11 can’t get it. Front desk says “kids don’t need it, they eat free” restaurant said, “ we are separate from the hotel and kids aren’t included” all staff was wearing the same and looked to have the same manager so that was misleading. If you’re doing a quick 1-2 day stay without kids it would be worth it, maybe.

-Food stands at night were good -Housekeeping cleaned up everyday and fixed the beds differently -Complimentary breakfast was not that good, fruit was old, paid the extra 5 dollars for buffet.

Las instalaciones son básicas pero tienen muy buen mantenimiento, mi habitación tenia vista al mar muy bonita y hotel en general muy limpio. Personal amable, las camas son cómodas, tienen aire acondicionado del tipo mini-split nuevos lo cual se agradece por silencioso. No me gustó que se considere en el buscador de hoteles como una opción con "desayuno incluido" ya que este es solo tipo continental (café, jugo de naranja "natural", tres rebanadas pequeñas de pan con mantequilla y una muy pequeña opción de fruta, solo una que puede ser papaya o melón. Lo que me pareció muy bien es que hay opciones para desayuno, comida y cena económicas y a distancia caminando. Algunas de estas recomendaciones son los tacos "Los Pelones" justo al cruzar la callen en la esquina, desayuno en el "Café Cálmate" a unas cuadras. Ora cosa que me gustó es que mantienen muy limpia el agua de la alberca. Definitivamente volvería a este hotel, el balance costo/beneficio me parece excelente.

Hotel is in a great location! Walking distance to every tourist point. Room was spacious and very comfortable and the beach view was amazing. I didn’t like that they give you a wristband and u can’t take it off. I seriously hate it!!!! You go to places and everyone knows u are a tourist because of the band. Another thing that i didn't like was that my reservation says “free” breakfast and when u go there is like a trap. You get free juice or coffe, the fruit of the day and a toast, using a coupon that they give you. If you want the actual breakfast you have to pay $5 USD. Idk, i feel it was false advertisement. My room wasn’t spotless clean but it wasn’t something out of the normal, dust here and there. Overall it was good. Will I stay again? Yes! Will I recommend it to my friends? Yes! Will i use the wristband ? Absolutely not!
