The staff is incredible and are courteous and helpful. Unfortunately they have had delays in construction which leaves the lobby under construction and we received ear plugs for the work that happens during the night. The pool is closed, however, they provided a free pass to a pool at another property. Overall, the incredible staff overshadows much of the distractions

Very nice location, staff was super friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed having access to a restaurant and a bar close by. Disappointed the pool was under renovations. Also our room was really warm, despite having thr A/C on the entire time. I wouls still book this hotel again next time we come around. The amenities, friendly staff and excellent cleanliness brought comfort that will invite us to return again

The only thing I would complain about is the construction going on...which made the pool and spa unavailable. I think they should have scheduled it during off-season. Yes they did say you could go to one of their other hotels but that is rather inconvenient.

The Ac units didnt work, renos being done so gym and pool was closed without notice. And had to wait an hour after check in to get our room. Close to west side and hwy1 is the only reason we chose and probably would stay again if those were medigated.

The hotel itself is comfortable and conveniently located but the rooms have some issues. In ours, the bathroom faucet was loose and would shoot water everywhere. The shower handle was also loose and it was difficult to turn off the shower. We found the area a bit sketchy, there were panhandlers asking for change in the parking lot and a drunk lady was screaming at her boyfriend keeping us up at night. There were also renovations going on which made the check in slow and areas such as the pool unavailable. I’m sure it will be improved but I would not stay at this hotel again.

This place really needs some better cleaning/work. It was just a gross and very uncomfortable experience. Dirty rooms, uncomfortable beds and pillows. Bedding feels like paper towels and the couches in the room are absolutely disgusting. Saw an employee smoking inside the building too asked about it and they just said it’s common for people to do that. It’s so unfortunate since you are paying quite a bit of money.

Excellent experience with Expedia. Great customer service and very helpful and prompt with all their information. The hotel unfortunately was not the cleanest. Spent 2 nights there and our room wasn’t cleaned once. Hotel rooms should ALWAYS be cleaned, it’s included in the price and is a mandatory service for ALL guests. We were not pleased with this oversight at all.

Older building. Room was good but smelled like a smoker stayed in befor me. I opened the windows and smell eventually went away. Wall paper ripped, clean but you can see dirt on baseboards. Room was good though Bed was comfy. Staff were friendly.

The room was very dated and didn’t feel clean- carpets looked dirty and the wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom revealing a moldy spot. We were disappointed with the reservation as the pool was a must with little kids and a vacation. We were notified days before that the pool was under renovations but by then it was too late to book elsewhere for a family of 5. Nothing was available. The woman at the front desk was kind and offered a food voucher to Denny’s in lieu.

Upon arrival, I couldn't use my card to get into the pool. Had to request clean sheets for both beds that had hair on them- and was told I needed to go get them from front desk, couldn't get back into the hotel from the resturaunt with my card (but that door never works with cards apparently) and went to use a cup this morning with lip prints on it. While looking at the cup, I was standing in a gross stain on the carpet. I will not be staying there again.

The riom was pretty nice. The kitchen was small but Ok for what we have to doo. the bathroom the step to walk in was not fix so every time you get in there we where making noise. The hook agains the door was realy to high, can reach it to hang out the towel.

Air did not work asked for it to be fixed 2 days out of the three we stayed. TV also had lines on it and asked for that to be fixed as well and nothing done. Room was not cleaned at all during our 3 day stay. Was advised that you have to let them know the day before on an app if you would like your room cleaned. Staff not helpful at all. Showed up to lobby at 5 after 10:00 and was told couldn’t get a coffee because service stops at 10:00. Couldn’t make coffee in room due to it or being restocked during the cleaning that didn’t take place.

The staff at this location was absolutely unbelievable and exceptional. We were there as a stop over for our wedding in Banff and forgot to print some things and the staff was super accommodating and very friendly making sure we had everything we needed.

We had a great stay. The hotel was clean, quiet, and in a perfect location for everything we needed. A special shout-out to Olesia at the front desk—she was absolutely amazing and made our stay even better. Highly recommend!

Staff really tried but we were assigned 3 different rooms. First one was in use and thank goodness the room was empty, who knows what we could have seen. 2nd room had no functioning air conditioner and finally assigned a 3rd room. Finally got to relax by 10:30pm…no compensation offered for our inconvenience either.

The hotel is outdated on the inside besides the lobby. Room is old and smells of animas or something. Beds are wait too soft so we all three did not sleep good. Airco /heat is super loud. And near the elevator they have construction. Check in was okay not bad but nothing special. Would not stay here ever again. Mostly of the smell of the place. It isnextt to to the highway towards Banff so that is good and many fast food places near by. Area seemed to us not the best with homeless men looking trough the garbage at the parking area.

While it is far from downtown, it is only a 19 dollar Uber ride away. Price much lower than downtown for that week due to a large convention. No complaints

Had a very good meal at the hotel restaurant Bar One. Looking forward to eating breakfast in the other hotel's restaurant Denny's in the morning before hitting the road again. Friendly staff.

Very nice location, staff was super friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed having access to a restaurant and a bar close by. Disappointed the pool was under renovations. Also our room was really warm, despite having thr A/C on the entire time. I wouls still book this hotel again next time we come around. The amenities, friendly staff and excellent cleanliness brought comfort that will invite us to return again

Clean, but washroom outdated, odd that a reception area would have water, and hot water for tea but never complimentary coffee over a 3 day stay, where other Sandman’s do, also should not have to walk through the first floor rooms, then try to figure out your way through two different doorways to get to the restaurant

One of the most comfortable beds we have slept in at a hotel GREAT mattress. Room was nice with separate area to relax and privte bedroom with king bed. Kitchenette had plates, bowls, utensils, toaster, water kettle, coffee maker, small fridge, and microwave. Numerous fast food joints within walking distance, wendys, opas (greek), McDonalds, starbucks , local pizza takeout and Dennys a joining the hotel. Nicer table service restaurants would be a drive from here. Right across from canada Olympic park. For winter skiing in the city.

The front receptionist spoke with a very very strong accent - couldn’t understand her & told her & she gave me a very serious look with attitude ! We need to understand the person helping us at the front She also claimed she was busy with something else when we were the only one in line - waiting 3-5 min & then she couldn’t even say welcome here & if we can do anything to make your stay better - first time at a sandman - was not impressed !!

A lovely place to stay as I explored Banff and Jasper, and celebrated my 30th birthday 😌 The entrance to Banff was about an hour away from the hotel. I had a one room suite. It was great to have a separate bedroom and this helped with any noise (not that noise was even an issue, but l couldn’t hear anything with the AC and door closed). The Dennys attached to the hotel really came in clutch when I didn’t feel like making food or driving to go get some. The farmer’s market was a 5 minute drive away and it was fantastic! A good place to stop by and grab some food for the stay. My mini fridge wouldn’t close well after 3-4 nights. I had to put my personal cooler in front of the door to keep it shut. The temperature was inconsistent and caused some things to spoil :( I also had an issue with the sink’s plumbing toward the end of my stay. I didn’t address it right away because I thought it’d go away on its own. The staff was super receptive and apologetic when I brought it up. I brought my pup with me and he was a very popular guest. I felt safe walking him around the property. Bowness Park nearby was a fantastic place to walk him. The minor inconveniences were…. Minor. My stay was great regardless and it’s a great place to stay if you plan to visit the parks!
