Fine for a quick stop to be walking distance to the centre but felt dirty, minimal amenities in the bathroom, had to walk up 5 flights because elevator wasn’t working. For the price I expected better.

Few disappointed in our stay at Marin hotel. There was no parking on-site. You must park at nearest city parking location and walk to hotel. This wouldn’t be bad except there isn’t a place to drop luggage before parking. Once in the unit AC was not working (they promptly corrected). The shower had mold/mildew on walls. We advised the staff and they sent someone to clean the next morning. Next shower it was back. Gave up on having this corrected. Staff was very nice in saying they would send someone to re-clean, unfortunately I think the exhaust fan was not operational in the bathroom. After booking this room in February, I read this same issue happened in other rooms.

Bien placé, accueil sympathique. Le moins . Obligation du port du masque pour aller de la porte d entrée à notre table pour boire un expresso. Nous sommes allés boire le café ailleurs, les machines à café déposées dans l e hall d entrée n étant pas utilisables.

Accueil chaleureux. Chambre confortable et propre avec un très grand balcon. Bon lit. Très bon petit déjeuner. Des voisines bruyantes un soir tard cependant. Idéal pour visiter la ville à pieds et déambuler dans le centre piéton. Pas de parking mais un accord avec le parking central situé à 3mn à pied avec système de voiturier très efficace

We traveled as a family: two of us and our 1.5-year-old. The room we stayed in was spacious. The beds were relatively comfortable, and the room was clean and well maintained. The biggest treat was the view. We had a room on the fourth floor with a spectacular view of the bay and the sea beyond. Breakfast was served on the top floor, and the dining area also had a spectacular view of the sea. The breakfast options were some of the best we experienced, including self-made Greek coffee and a self-assembled traditional Cretan meal, a hand juicer to make your own fresh orange juice an loads of other options for food and drinks. In January, the room was a little chilly and slightly humid, and this was an unpleasant combination. But thankfully the heating element worked well enough, and we made it fairly comfortable in the end. The staff were very friendly. There is a small tea/coffee bar on the ground floor which needs to be serviced by the concierge. There is no tea kettle in the room itself! This was probably the only downside for our stay since we would have liked to warm up some of the water for our daughter or had the ability to make tea ourselves. Lastly, there is a laundry business just a few steps away from the hotel. The man who runs the business dropped off our clean laundry at the hotel. So, keep this option in mind as you travel. As a whole, this hotel was excellent. Get a room with a sea view. It is worth it.

Walls covered in spatter of bodily fluids ?vomit ?blood a hair also. Bathrooms need renovated badly. Air conditioning turns off in the middle of the night (this occurred in our friends room also so it is a deliberate cost saving measure by staff) incorrigible given the heat. Drain clogged and not draining water in shower. Mould in shower. Was cheap. But definitely cheap and nasty. 1 night only for sure or find elsewhere.

The room was ok. The pillows were like rocking chairs though. (Head kept rocking back and forth because they were so uneven.) The bed was very hard but my husband liked it, so maybe not the worst for everyone. But the bathroom was not great. The shower leaked and the floor was filthy. The rest of the room wasn’t cleaned very well either. Found hair on the pillowcases when we first arrived. The location is great, however. And the check in was easy.

Hôtel bien situé dans le centre-ville et à moins de 10 minutes à pieds du port (notamment pour les excursions en bateau). Équipement quelque peu vétustes cependant (clim et douche) mais en bon état de marche et literie toujours propres. Bonne connexion wifi. Superbe vue pour le petit-déjeuner. Personnel tres serviables. Insonorisation à revoir.

In a great location, very handy for the archaeological museum & close to the port & the bus station. Excellent Cretan restaurant (Plani) 3 minutes walk. The room was a bit small, but the bed was enormous. There was very little storage in the room.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was too small, especially the shower… I couldn’t move without hitting the walls. The safe fitting edges were sharp and I hit my head to it a couple of times. The room was tiny itself as well. The location was good and near the port and bus station.

Hotel is in a great location next to the Harbor and the center of the city. The staff are excellent, and the morning breakfast buffet was excellent as well. Our room (with huge balcony) faced the port, and the view was breathtaking (similar to the view from the breakfast room). The room itself was fine but had poor lighting but good A/C. Bathroom as well was dull (color scheme), and poor lighting but clean. BTW the airport is close by and the planes take off predominantly toward the city harbor and they are close and loud (impacts all hotels and residents). We would stay again without hesitation.

A notre arrivée,très bon accueil , cadre d'entrée superbe. Chambre au 5 ème vue sur mer . Belle chambre avec balcon , climatisation. Par contre la salle d'eau dénote avec le reste . Chambre mal insonorisée, en dessous de la salle du petit déjeuner donc a partir de 6h30 les chaises crissent sur le sol ....pas très agréable en vacances

Old style hotel with basic rooms but great location and friendly staff. Perfect for visiting Knossos and heraklion museums. Great restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Also just a few minutes walk to fort, port and bus station. Rooms basic with very old showers, but beds surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast had ok choices but lacking in quality. Good budget / mid range choice for short stay.

Quite a basic room. Clean. Reasonable condition. Balcony was much smaller than expected. The neighbouring rooms' balcony is also side by side with ours, and separated by a piece of frosted glass that isn't fully covered. We can basically crawl under to get to the next room and vice versa... View from the room was nice. Breakfast is additionally chargeable. Hotel is near to the ferry terminal and the main shopping area. We are happy with the location.

The check in process was easy, lots of restaurants within walking distance and very friendly reception that spoke English. Definitely recommend if you are transporting via ferry, as it is within walking distance.

Some people at the front desk is fine but some is quite rude. Breakfast is too simple. I was not told that the bottle water in the refrigerator is 1 euro each until check-out. I did not receive any VIP benefit.

Had a great time staying at the Marin hotel. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, breakfast was great and hotel room was clean and nice. Great location in Heraklion also.

We had an absolutely phenomenal view of the port from our room, beyond what we could have ever expected. The room itself was decent but I couldn’t get the shower to turn on and there was some mold in the corners of the bathtub, not too big of a deal for a one night stay but we did let them know about it before we left. Breakfast was tasty and the hotel is perfectly located with a short walk to the port.

Everything was as advertised. The museums and city center are easily walkable. The bus station to chania is also close, as is the port. Great place to stay.

Affordable and convenient hotel in walking distance from the ferry port. The breakfast views were stunning! I was easily able to explore Heraklion at night, then enjoyed a nice breakfast and walked over to my ferry first thing in the morning.

We stayed for one night, as we were taking the ferry the next morning and this hotel is at one of the best spots in the town. This is an old building and needs a proper overhaul, especially since the bathroom is very old. It is good for a one-night stay. Hôtel très pratique (près de la gare maritime et de la gare routière ainsi que du centre ville). Très bon petit déjeuner au 6e étage avec une superbe vue sur le port et le fort vénitien. Personnel serviable et sympathique.

Staff were nice but our AC dripped the entire time we were there. We used a bucket & glasses to catch the water. We told them the day we arrived and were told “ there was nothing they could do now”. That was fine because it was late but it was never addressed after that. I am pretty sure they knew cause when we checked in our room the window& door was opened and the AC was off. Had the AC been on, water would have been all over the floor. Other than the AC issue, it was a convenient walk to the ferry port, supermarket, car park & restaurants.

Decent hotel within walking distance of the old town, Venetian port as well as the central bus station. Very friendly staff and the the room was comfortable and had a nice large balcony, but the level of cleanliness was not ideal: when we arrived to our room there were hairs stuck in the pillow covers and sheets and the bathroom had some mold in the shower and dust on the toilet and sink. The towels however were clean and got changed every 2 days. The breakfast was tasty albeit quite limited in terms of options, however on the last day we had the surprise of finding mold on a rice pudding... So overall an okay experience and a very convenient location, although the hotel would definitely benefit from a higher level of attention when it comes to cleaning.
