Sehr schönes Hotel in zentraler Lage. Entstanden aus einem historischen Gebäude das perkt restauriert wurde. Sehr schöne Zimmer mit tollem Blick auf den Hafen. Sehr schöne Rooftop Terasse mit kleinem Pool. Ebenfalls ist das Rooftoprestaurant sehr empfhlenswert. Sher schöne saubere Zimmer. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. The hotel and staff are great! Fabulous rooftop area and pool, super friendly staff (every one of them we encountered) who went out of their way to ensure our stay was memorable. Not a lot nearby but 10 minute walk away is the main town area with loads of restaurant choices.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel offers a fantastic Cretan breakfast with local delicacies and fresh honeycomb that really set the tone for each day. The location is superb—just a 10-minute drive from the airport, right by the ferry, and only a short walk from great local restaurants. The rooftop pool and restaurant were a highlight, offering beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. Our room had a comfy bed and a spacious shower, making it extra comfortable. Free parking was another big plus for convenience - as was the friendly staff. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a perfect base in Crete!

the gym was hardly a gym. no weights and a broken treadmill. one techno gym equipment from 15 years ago. disappointed as i was looking forward to it. AC barely worked room was average at best- maybe 4star staff were very friendly though!

The property is immaculate and all employees were fabulous. The room was immaculate. Was looking forward to using the pool until saw all the pigeons drinking from it and washing their tushes in it. Also, the fitness room is not kept air conditioned so my workout was brutal … had to finish early because way too hot. Rather unfortunate for the price paid.

This was our 3rd time at the GDM Megaron and I cannot say enough great things about the hotel. Staff is courteous, helpful, always available. Hotel and rooms are clean, quiet, safe and always with immaculate attention to detail. Location couldn’t be any better relative to shopping, dining, walking, airport, seaport etc. this is and always will be my go-to location to stay in Heraklion (and we actually even have family there we could stay with for free, but just prefer to be on our own). It’s obviously a little on the expensive side but well worth it.

Hotel and rooms are clean, quiet, safe and always with immaculate attention to detail. We had a wonderful overnight stay at the Megaron, and were very impressed with the standard of our room, which was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The large bathroom had a great shower, and we loved the Korres toiletries. The buffet breakfast was amongst the best we've had at any hotel. Staff very friendly and professional, with nothing too much trouble.

We had a wonderful overnight stay at the Megaron, and were very impressed with the standard of our room, which was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. Our stay was ok. The light in the hotel was dark, too dark. A suite with 2 balconies without any CHAIRS and a smal TABLE on it !!! The nice view only by standing The noice of the haber and the airplanes is very loud, but after 10 p.m. ok.

I'm not sure how this hotel gets a 5 star rating, but it was a perfectly adequate 4 star. Our "junior suite" was a room with a sofa and a desk, with the smallest bathroom. The hotel was renovated in 2003 and feels both dated and a bit tatty by now. The location is fine but you are basically on a roundabout next to the bus station overlooking the ferry port, so not exactly atmospheric.

The hotel itself was nice, clean and there looked to be lots of services if needed. The location was very conveniently located next to the port. The hotel room seemed to have thin walls, could hear a lot while in the room. Also under the flight path so you could hear planes all day/night. The parking lot was convenient as well.

My husband and I have both traveled internationally but neither of us have ever experienced the type of gracious and considerate hotel staff. Each and every one we encountered was amazing. This was really proven when my husband, who has heart problems, had to be taken to the hospital. They arranged a car to take me (while my husband was in the ambulance) and deliver both of us back home upon release. This was our first visit to Crete, for our 30th anniversary and we could not have been more pleased with our accommodations.

This hotel has a lot of history but it is very modern, luxurious and clean. It is located opposite the port (you can walk to the ferry in 9 minutes) but it is a bit further to reach center city and we took a taxi back from eating there.

A wonderful three nights stay. Personnel particularly smiling and efficient. Very welcoming. Small parking, but we always found room. Refined breakfast selection. Immediate neighborhood is rather sad and shabby, but the hotel is not to blame. The hotel is tastefully renovated while maintaining his historical character. We will be back!

I'm not sure how this hotel gets a 5 star rating, but it was a perfectly adequate 4 star. Our "junior suite" was a room with a sofa and a desk, with the smallest bathroom. The hotel was renovated in 2003 and feels both dated and a bit tatty by now. The location is fine but you are basically on a roundabout next to the bus station overlooking the ferry port, so not exactly atmospheric.

The hotel and staff are excellent. The one drawback of the hotel is it’s location. In order to get to the shops and restaurants in the city core, you must first navigate 3 or 4 blocks that are not pedestrian friendly. The streets are narrow, dark and very run down. It did not feel safe at night. However, nothing bad occurred on our walks.

This hotel is across the street from the Iraklion harbor, offering interesting views of ships coming and going and a close-up of the Venetian fort. It’s also within the old city, with pedestrian-only streets full of local people and busy indoor-outdoor restaurants. (This was in May during comfortable weather.) The interior of the hotel reflects the inventive upgrade of 2023. The only drawback was the lackluster food, but as I said there are numerous restaurants a few minutes away by foot.

The hotel is right next to the port and in easy walking distance to the pedestrian zone. Great views from the rooftop restaurant, bar, pool area. One of the most incredible breakfasts ever seen on this planet or any other planet. And like all of Crete, the people working at the hotel are wonderful, kind, friendly and helpful.
