Galesburg Extended Stay I 74 Newly Renovated

Breakfast was not included in our price. We could purchase it for $10. We just went out. We stayed 2 nights. The rooms and hallways were clean. The AC worked great. The beds were comfortable. TV worked. Showers were warm with grab bar. Full bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were available and attached to the wall in the shower, which was nice, except the conditioner bottle had shampoo in it. I just used my own conditioner. Basic room. Good price. There was no phone in the room. They did not service the room while we were there. I guess for the price, we were supposed to ask for more towels? We did not see any information in the room about wifi or how to contact the office. Extended stay is a separate building from where the office is in Best Western, a brief walk away. They offered ice water and coffee in the lobby. I guess there was an ice machine in our building, but we did not look for it. We were there in October as vendors for the Scenic Drive. We wanted to stay there for the 2nd weekend of the Scenic Drive, but the price for a room was jacked way up, evidently because of a family weekend at Knox College? Not sure. But the price difference was very notable on hotels.com for all the hotels in Galesburg. So we had to get a room in Galva, a bit of a drive from Knoxville, though it should be pretty driving through the country with the fall colors.

The photos online showed a king bed with a desk and an easy chair (upholstered chair for watching tv or relaxing. The room had NO desk whatsoever, and instead of a comfortable chair had 3 wooden chairs with little to no padding, and very low backs. The room had been remodeled very poorly.

The staff was very nice, but we where unexpectedly charged $20 cash for an extra person without prior knowledge, our reservation guaranteed the continental breakfast on the receipt, but upon check in we where told no and we would have to pay extra as well. We were also put in a separate building all together where the hallways where not air conditioned and lack of extra pillows and other amenities where lacking. A bit disappointing.

I had an awefuk experian cc e i got the first room and was chilling on da bed when all a suddin a bug cime crawling out the pillow case and i recorded it said some thing to staff and manager they gave me no compesation just moved me to a dif room i woke up ta day and my legs are coverd in bug biggts and itching like crazy i was told to ithed pay for another night check ourt or find a new hotel not verry clean or responsibile for management not to be giving or offer a refund or a free stay in my opinion so dont think imma stay at b.w in the galesbugmrg area
