Best Western Amador Inn

This is kind of an older. Best, Western. The room was very clean. When we arrived we were a little unsure because the pictures don't kind of look the same. Anyway, they need to enforce their smoking laws a little bit better. But I think it's because it's in the town of Jackson in amador county where a lot of people smoke. They kind of are laxed with it, but it didn't bother us. The room was very clean and very quiet. Lots of places to eat around and lots of things to do if you like drinking wine. The black chasm caverns are nearby and I heard there's biking trails around. We are more of hikers, not bikers but there was a lot of bikers that day going to the frog jump in calaveras county. Everyone was having a good time. Need food in the morning. Breakfast buffet was very tasty and the two ladies that were in charge were just fantastic. Will definitely stay there again. Kind of third on our list for up there when I say that we are from San Francisco. We love going to the Sutter Creek Jackson area. People are very nice. Oh and also they are pet friendly and the room was surprisingly clean because some other places we stay our dog freaks out because she knows there's been other dogs. This one she could not tell. Good cleaning job.

Location to town was very good. Room was clean and simple. Nice to have had a fridge and microwave. Breakfast was ok. Shower curtain rod in the room wasn’t correctly installed on the wall causing water to spray the floor and create pool on floor. But staff did come right away to investigate.

Needed a dog friendly place to stay in Jackson for one night. Pros: dog fee only $25, friendly staff, pool looked inviting (although we didn’t use it), clean and comfy bed, AC worked well, quiet and safe. Con: room had an odor to it…hard to tell if it was smoke or new paint or funk and breakfast had limited selection of healthy options, room in tv was small, only one very small patch of fake turf for dog to go potty…lots of big weeds elsewhere. Overall a nice, affordable place to spend the night. And it shared a parking lot with a delicious Indian & Nepali restaurant!

Very frieny staff

Check-in was a challenge. Attendant was a very pleasant young lady, but clearly unfamiliar with the job. Long wait to help the two customers ahead of me. Many questions about payment options, rewards programs, handicap rooms, service dog options, etc. Another attendant referenced many times for answers, but did not intervene. It took 20-25 minutes to check-in, only to then discover our keys were not programmed. As if not enough, the Wifi password written on the key folder was not correct. The attendant had a wonderful customer service personality; just needed more training. Breakfast options were very good, and the breakfast staff were very attentive. Kudos to them! Disappointed that when we returned to our room on the final night, our used towels had been collected but were not replaced to clean towels. Criticism aside, we will stay at this property the next time we visit this area.
