Warmly lit with fairy lights to welcome you, there’s a superbly generous welcome hamper from the nearby Running Fox cafe, thoughtfully catering for dietary needs. The village is quiet and peaceful, with nearby parking easily sought. Close to the A1 it is easy to reach most places along the coastline. Book a boat trip to the Farnes and Holy Island for a sure highlight. Directly on the St Oswald’s Way straight from the door, there are plenty of Northumbrian walking destinations for all abilities and an abundance of stunning beaches and castles for those scenic days out. The upmarket Northumberland Arms along from the cottage serves quality food in stylish surroundings and only a little further afield in nearby Shilbottle, the Lal Khazana will easily satisfy every Indian food lover. Or try the Fish Shack in Amble for a quayside fresh fish menu. There are so many things to see and do you wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay.
