The advertisement said that the room had a “FIREPLACE”. I called before to verify, the person verified that yes the room had a fireplace. I asked if I needed to bring my own wood, he said “no we have everything you need here”. Never once was there any mention that the “FIREPLACE” was an electric fireplace. This should have been disclosed. It was false advertisement and fraudulent. Awful business practice. AWFUL. Just flat out ripping people off.

The New Haven Village Suites is abysmal, sorely needing a renovation. This property formerly housed the homeless during pandemic. The room smelled musty The carpet was filthy, your shoes will stick at times in places on the carpet, and there were blood stains on the floor. . The sofa cushion was stained and creaked when sitting down. The TV is off to the left and does not line up with the sofa, not ergonomically positioned t0 watch in comfort - crooked neck syndrome. The front door has no weather stripping, so the outside air enters the living and bedroom areas along with bugs that can crawl on through. The toilet has not been cleaned in months judging by the stains on the bowl. The shower wall is cracked. The tile has black mold which could be a health hazard. The popcorn ceiling may contain asbestos and dates back to the 1960's along with the building. The health department should check this building and test for spores and mold. The fireplace is unusable. The beds are also creaky. There are zero USB outlets in the room. Breakfast is a sad with limited offerings: dry cereal, bagels, bread, fruit, some hot meat affair (2 items), coffee tasted terrible. The full kitchen is the only highlight. Laundry on-site with a fee, car park is free Do yourself a favor and do not stay here. The low rated reviews are real.

No pool which if i had known would not have booked this place. Pictures not accurate room not updated. Fireplaces dont work they are blocked now with metal. Breakfast was not great it was ok very limited I booked vecause of pool for kids but there pool is gone now. Expensive what what they have to offer

the place was nice, was able to wash clothes, had a kitchen so we could make food instead of eating out the entire trip. the parking was not great be at the property is like short term and long term stays. some people are staying and have visitors taking up some of the parking. but my vehicle was safe parking toward front of propert.

Great place enjoyed very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Only issue but not a deal breaker advertised with fireplace there was one unfortunately not workable perhaps maybe adding a faux incert just for the obauance. Definitely would stay again.

The process of booking was simple. Upon arriving the check was seamless. However, upon walking into the room it was very dated. They also advertise in the photos a fireplace that there is a sign stating it isn’t able to be used. The amenities aren’t up to date. The ice maker didn’t work. Lastly the TV didn’t turn on at all and the remote didn’t work either. Upon calling the front desk I was informed that they didn’t have maintenance and there was nothing he could do for me. The only option I was given was to check out and receive a refund.

The suite was not clean. Pull-out couch had a huge stain on it and broken. When I called front desk they told me they would tell maintenance next day, I was there for only one night. Both of the bathrooms and around floors had hair on them. The beddings had little dirt like someone just pulled the covers remained the bed not change sheets etc… my family and I Slept with clothes on that night.

This was one of the worst properties I’ve ever stayed at. As die from the room being completely old and outdated it was filthy. Stains all over the carpet, and bed dust ruffle, and BLOOD stains splattered on the wall. Edging peeling off the walls and AC grate rusted and rattling. My 15 year old daughter said the room looked like a murder scene. Breakfast was horrible. I do NOT recommend. The pictures on Expedia do not show what it really looked like.

This place is the projects. Your shoes stuck to every kind of flooring in the room. There were ants in the pullout chair (was supposed to be a couch), the lamps had brown goo on the bases. The flooring in the bathroom was coming up entirely. There were rips in the curtains and burns in the carpet. There was blood on the floor. I could go on.

Upon entering room, there was a stale odor. Run was clean but not clean. Stains on floor and couch. You could see outside under the entrance door where the seal was missing. There was a noticeable water leak on tge ceiling by the patio door. The towel bar near the bathroom sink was falling off the wall. It was all doable but needs a little lovin'.

Noises car races in street and neighboring parking lot, broken windows covered with wood planks, stained carpets looks like blood. Had a hard time finding an accessible lobby without needing a keycard to open or knock on door.

This is my second time staying there and probably my last. The room condition was horrible. Very run down and in bsd shape. The kitchen was missing glasses and utensil. The couch was ripped and nasty looking. The kitchen is run down. The bathroom fauis loose. Breakfast is a joke. This place is ok for a cheap quick stay if your not too picky about cleanliness.

Very old, very dirty. Our toilet wouldn’t flush but every hour. Toilet ran all day and all night! Carpet filthy. Our room never cleaned and stayed three nights. No clean towels, no new wash clothes.

Carpet, bathroom, floor, in general everything was filthy. The smell inside the room was unbearable. I wanted to leave but I would lose my $ 2 night stay We didn't sleep at night, there was chaos in the other rooms until 3 in the morning. It was a nightmare.

We came to visit our daughter at Yale. We did have an issue with the 1 bdrm we started with, but they resolved quickly by moving us to a 2 bdrm. Tons of room and having the extra bed/bath was great! Breakfast is included, but it's nothing special. Choice of an egg or waffle/pancake each day. not much else. All premade and heated up. Property needs some upgrading, kitchenette only had a few dishes and plastic utensils, but we didn't really cook anything anyway, outside cement stairs were crumbling and cracked in places, one was broken in half lengthwise. I tripped on it twice. It is in a quiet location away from downtown, so can't just walk to downtown Yale, but that didn't bother us too much. Overall, room size and convience to my daughter would make me stay again. If they invested a little more into their property, it could easily be a 5 star hotel.

The outside of the property looks ok, as do the pictures on the web. The inside of the room I was in, however, was in very sad shape. Stains on the carpet in the bathroom, obvious water damage, and old old kitchen. I did not feel super safe, staying alone, with door opening directly to the outside and room on the exterior of the property, ground floor.

It is a great Apartment-hotel and the suites have the right amenities. One critic that I have would be that there would sometimes you could smell the cigarette smoke from other neighbours blowing into the furnace. Public transportation is limited and so it's best to have a car. Staff is super helpful and accommodating.

I wanted to love but can’t. The room setup was intriguing. The room had master bedroom and a second-floor loft, two full bathrooms, and a full kitchen. All the things we were looking for. That said, the condition of room 522 was very disappointing. The furnishings are extremely dated. I felt I was reliving the 70s. When entering the room, we were hit with the overwhelming smell of smoke, and the floor had burned marks to confirm. As non-smokers. 😖 Unfortunately, that's not where it ended. The windows that had sheers were discolored as well. There were holes in the walls leading upstairs. The bathrooms were dingy and rusty, and the kitchen had no complete set of utensils. We bought place settings. If we had more time in NH, we would have gone to another hotel, but this was a quick two-day turnaround trip and we agreed to stick it out. I could never in food conscience recommend the Villages. Not happy travelers.

Let me first give commendation to the beautiful young lady who was very polite, warm and welcoming to us the moment we entered the lobby.. Her smile omg was such a delight..She was very informative, patient and kind she made my night. Keep up the great work... That's the kind of service one should get when they walk into any reception area.. How could I forget even the chef, he was welcoming, entertaining. Breakfast was sufficient, warm and fresh and the environment was also clean...

my toilet in the room was not working and after i explained that to the staff, they were not able to get me another room that would accommodate my 4 people, which is understandable on a friday night. what i don’t like is the lackadaisical attitude of everyone involved ESPECIALLY the general manager. i have been trying to contact her about this issue and i have left SEVERAL voicemails after being told multiple times she would be in and yet she wasn’t there nor has she answered any of my calls or messages. horrible service.

Terrible customer service representatives maid walked into my room without knocking. The extra 200 hold on my bank card was ridiculous because I prepaid for the room before i arrived. They requested 200 be held on my card and wasn't returned until 5-7 business days later which caused my bank account to be thrown into the negative and I was charged a overdraft fee

Location was great. The staff was friendly. We only stayed one night. The room definitely needs an update and there was a cloying smell that came in through the heat vent.

The property was centrally located in New Haven and breakfast was good, but the inside of the room was very worn out, carpet had stains and closet doors didn't close properly. I'm glad that I had flip flops to use when walking on the carpet.

We came to visit our daughter at Yale. We did have an issue with the 1 bdrm we started with, but they resolved quickly by moving us to a 2 bdrm. Tons of room and having the extra bed/bath was great! Breakfast is included, but it's nothing special. Choice of an egg or waffle/pancake each day. not much else. All premade and heated up. Property needs some upgrading, kitchenette only had a few dishes and plastic utensils, but we didn't really cook anything anyway, outside cement stairs were crumbling and cracked in places, one was broken in half lengthwise. I tripped on it twice. It is in a quiet location away from downtown, so can't just walk to downtown Yale, but that didn't bother us too much. Overall, room size and convience to my daughter would make me stay again. If they invested a little more into their property, it could easily be a 5 star hotel.

It is a great Apartment-hotel and the suites have the right amenities. One critic that I have would be that there would sometimes you could smell the cigarette smoke from other neighbours blowing into the furnace. Public transportation is limited and so it's best to have a car. Staff is super helpful and accommodating.

Let me first give commendation to the beautiful young lady who was very polite, warm and welcoming to us the moment we entered the lobby.. Her smile omg was such a delight..She was very informative, patient and kind she made my night. Keep up the great work... That's the kind of service one should get when they walk into any reception area.. How could I forget even the chef, he was welcoming, entertaining. Breakfast was sufficient, warm and fresh and the environment was also clean...

The overall condition of the hotel was disappointing. Our room didn’t match the photos online, the outdated appliances and peeling floors gave it a run-down feel. Upon arrival, we were initially directed to the wrong building, requiring another trip to the front desk. When we finally located our room, it wasn’t the one we booked, so we had to return to get new keys. The replacement room was an improvement but still felt worn and wasn’t particularly clean. We booked a suite hoping to prepare our own meals, but the kitchen was barely equipped. There was no frying pan, and the utensils were sparse—just one fork, three spoons, and a few butter knives. We ended up chopping garlic with the single steak knife provided. The bathroom had peeling floors, a clogged shower drain, and overall, the cleanliness left much to be desired. While the front desk staff were helpful in providing extra forks and a frying pan, we didn’t receive the warm, welcoming service we’d expect. The breakfast was lackluster and only available until 8:30, which was inconvenient. We chose this hotel through Avion, expecting a higher standard, but unfortunately, it fell short across the board. Overall, we left feeling very disappointed.

Breakfast could use a few more options. When I checked in the guy at the desk seemed like he had a long day and came off as a little rude he thought he was about to go back and forth with about the deposit fee I just said Ok and checked into my room to enjoy my stay just because his energy is off don’t mean mine has to.

This place is old and a dump. But everything near Yale campus was expensive. This is close and has plenty of space. The units are efficiency apartments so we used frig, microwave, plates and flatware. The included breakfast was terrible.

This place was very disappointing. It’s more like low income housing. The pictures are nothing like the place. It’s a catfish. As soon as we walked into our room it wreaked of smoke, supposed to be a non smoking property. There was no water in the toilet and couldn’t flush. No microwave as the description says and pictures show. Don’t expect stainless steel appliances like the pictures show either. All old white appliances. Furniture was all scratched. We wound up leaving, didn’t even stay the night. Did not feel safe.

This is a very old run down place. The room had major cigarette burns, smelled disgusting, broken vanities etc. Never again. Oh and breakfast was a big joke. No thanks this was the worst place I’ve ever stayed in. I should request a refund or a partial refund for the outdated pictures of the room which looked nothing like the advertisement. So pissed off. Couldn’t sleep because of the noise above my room. I heard later on that this place is a drug spot!
