Tampa Inn Near Busch Gardens

The room had a terrible odor and it was a non-smoking room. The mirror was dirty. The room was dirty. I went to four different ice machines and all of them were broken and did not work. The TV did not work. I called the front desk and was told someone would come to check it out and not one ever showed up. I am 68 years old and this is the absolute worse motel I have ever been in. The only reason I did not go somewhere else is the fact that there was no cancellation policy.

Checkin was smooth.. asked for a non smoking room but first thing I smelled was smoke when I walked into the room. Dirty exterior and very seedy. People were outside my door all night due to the proximity of the washers and dryers. No soap or shampoos or other amenities were available.

I booked this hotel because it was close to Bush Gardens. The pool looked like there was mold growing on the bottom, black in all the cracks and crevices but the water didn’t feel gross so that’s something. The room was clean..ish. When I woke in the middle of the night I observed a (single, only one I can confirm I saw. However, where there is one there are many) roach in the sink which made me wonder; if there is mold in the pool and roaches in the room perhaps that’s why the shower tile was black and the carpet was dark. I would not stay here again and they should lower the rate and at every least fumigate!

Safe and a budget hotel. Very close to Busch gardens walking distance to few of the fast food places, nice pool.

parking was cramped. bldg needed much repair.

Terrible area do not come to this property if u have kids homeless people walking around drug use on the property my sheets had holes from cigarette burns my pillow case had little black hairs all over it and there was poop in the pool along with baby wipes it was disgusting

The room felt dirty, the pillows were useless and the bed was hard. No hot water, the toilet was not bolted down. No breakfast served, coffee was horrible. Would recommend finding another place to stay.

Well there were cockroaches and spiders. Hair dryer did not work. No blankets, just a sheet and a flimsy coverlet with holes. The mattress was firm and seemed clean. No tissues in the room. Oh and no breakfast....just coffee.

The pool

I had been calling the hotel throughout the day, letting them know that my flights were being cancelled and delayed. When I finally got into town, my uber dropped me off at 2am. I get to the hotel window, no one is there and there is a sign taped to the window…..”come back in 10-15 minutes “. There are people sleeping on the side of the building and by the dumpster. People are walking back and forth, cars pulling in and out, that are not hotel guest. After sitting on the curb with my taser in hand, for about 20 minutes, I began to call the hotel. No answer. I began knocking on the window and door. I sat outside for almost an hour. I got in my room at 3:06am. For the most part, the room itself, was clean. The fridge had a big glob of growing ice and the shelves were broken, the sheets were very dingy, wrinkled, cigarette burns and the pillows were awful. And I was in a non smoking room. I ended up laying the blanket that I had with me for the plane ride, on the sheets to sleep on. This hotel needs to be updated, better quality bedding and definitely needs to improve the premises conditions. For 150 a night and Bush Gardens to be across the street, I expected better. I had to stay one more night after those two and ended up going across the street to the La Quinta. It was $10 cheaper a night and 100X nicer.

Filthy dirty and full of roaches

Roach crawling in the middle of the night, outdated and old rooms, crusty and uncomfortable bed! It was just ridiculous. Dead roaches in bathroom

Exterior lighting was good! WiFi worked well. Resident in room 131 was very noisy screaming and lots banging around even after midnight had to put in earplugs in to sleep! Roaches in room! Sheets dirty went to my storage unit to get a clean flat sheet to cover the bed for sleeping! Requested non-smoker room very strong foul smoking odor in room!

The please was in a horrible condition, the guy in the front desk almost didn’t talk to me, when we got to the room the floor was full of dead cucarachas and I can swear that no one ever in there whole life of that nasty Hotel clean the floor or the curtains, there where dead bug in the walls and the ceilings and live bugs coming out of the bathtub, sink and bathroom door. Do your self a favor and save your money and health from this stinky nasty and dirty hotel.

The place looked like they didn’t clean in days. Only the bathroom was decent. Sheets were stained and cockroaches all around.

It was filthy, things were broken, there were cockroaches. No one should stay here.

I should have read others’ comments but it was a last minute booking due to my change of schedule and unavailability among other places. The main concern / complaint is the cleanness of this place!!!! It’s almost unbelievable how dirty it feels and was. As soon as you walk in, the room just smells of mixture of stale, moldy and smoky air. The sheets are dirty with some body hair. Blankets are even dirtier :/ I’m feeling sick after sleeping in here. Then so imagine the bathroom. cockroaches in bathroom. Towels are falling apart. Bathtub is super slippery. Outside has all kinds of people and “activities” that leaves a sense of very unsafe and unsettling. Although staff are sort of fine, it is definitely one of my worst hotel / motel experiences.

I couldn’t stay at all. This place should be turned down and rebuilt, is incredible how bad conditions are found. Dirty with cockroaches and other insects on the walls air conditioning rusted, bedding I even take a peek, towels all stained, the toilet no words, floors were sticky on the shoes, it should not be allowed to be available as a place for people to sleep.

Property was unclean. Room had feces smeared on floor and was of bathroom. Cockroaches everywhere. Fights in the parking lot throughout the night. Priced at $160/night. Insanely expensive for the astronomically poor condition of this place.

This was the worst experience ever!!! Room was extremely dirty, blood on bathroom door, toliet was not attached to floor, towels were dirty, bedding was dirty. The comforter looked liked it hadn't been washed since 1975. There were children running around screaming, breaking up concrete on stairway and throwing it at cars. Made a call to front desk to report kids causing problems, nothing was ever done, had to listen to them till 2am. There were people sleeping in the stairway the night we arrived. And then there were the roaches...lots of them!!! We made it one night and had to leave with no refund!! Please do not stay here, sleeping in your car would be better.

Good just the tv remote didn't work

I liked that my room was fully renovated with nice hardwood floors , furniture, appliances, light fixtures with USB plug, and a nice air conditioner unit. Hairdryer did not work but that's about all the downside I have to say

It was horrible. There was a hole at the bottom of the door a small child could crawl thru. The bed sheets and comforter had cigarette burns.. paper thin walls and loud ass people....smh. never again.

6 inch Holes in the floor under the carpet. Red stain near shower drain. Mold on the shower curtain. Towel racks hanging off the walls. The door frame to the bathroom had been kicked in previously and repaired with the same cracked pieces of wood. AC unit is propped up from the floor with pressure treated lumber. The safety latch is broken off inside the entrance door. The room smelled musty and moldy. No restroom in the lobby for registration. (I was told to use the restroom at Taco Bell next door.)

Toilet was leaking all night, the fire alarm battery was weak and making sound all the time even after I told them they didn't change it.The over all experince was bad.

The room served it's purpose. It was a cheap room that wasn't a roach motel. Bed was comfy, room didn't smell moldy. Only things that needed help was the shower head and maybe do some recaulking in the room and bathroom. The hair dryer didn't work (but that's okay). Overall I give my stay a 8/10

Staff was super nice, the rooms were not well taken care of. Our first room had no ac and they switched us with no issues. Both toilets were not tight to the floor. Ac worked perfect in the second room. We went out for a little and came back to a palmetto bug/cockroach on our air conditioner. They were spraying pest control earlier in the day which could have aggravated it. At least they are working on it. Beds were clean with no bugs. It’s an 80$ room for a reason.

No one was in the office for more than a half hour and we nearly left because it was very late and we needed a place to stay. This place is horrendous.

Staff was great

As always, the staff at the Tampa Inn near Busch Gardens went out of their way to make my stay pleasant and trouble - free! I love Tampa Inn!!

Property Staff is always helpful and courteous. Definitely your lowest prices in the area!

I have already emailed a request for refund. WE DID NOT STAY. As a matter of fact we entered the room saw the condition and returned to the office and turned in the key. It was absolutely disgusting. Black mold, dirt, cockroaches.

Liked that the staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean and tidy. Microwave and small fridge worked well. There was no coffeemaker. The toilet was not secured properly and no bathtub stopper. Broken fire alarm. Paid $40.00 extra for the two dogs.

Service was fast , efficient and friendly at the front desk when I checked in at a late hour, and all my room preferences had been accomodated without me saying a word. The staff at The Tampa Inn near Busch Gardens has always been wonderful to me and I am glad to have my home away from home

Near to Bush Garden!

I booked online with Expedia, got caught in traffic, so I got there past check in time. Drove around the place very run down, and very unsafe. I refused to stay there, they would not give my money back. I called Expedia they said talk with the manager, so I got screwed for my money. Thanks Expedia!

Close to theme park it's a bed and AC. Nothing special

Areas seems unsafe for people who are visiting out of state and doesn’t give off a pleasant a atmosphere especially being located across the street from Busch Gardens

The motel is in a bad neighborhood and a lot of shady people in and outside motel , made us feel unsafe.

Staff is awesome and very hard working. Area around the property isn’t the greatest and it’s very noisy.

The room was clean, the staff were very friendly. I couldn't quite get COLD water. The courtyard was slightly noisy until 11pm. While the facility & service were great, the area FEELS a bit sketchy, but I NEVER felt unsafe.

I enjoyed my stay there. The room was clean and spacious. There was hot coffee for breakfast. The bathtub was big and comfortable.
