Cute hotel close to restaurants, bars, and the waterfront. Limited staff and lobby hours. The room was not cleaned during our stay. We loved the wine and cheese offered in the afternoon.

Very cute place with a unique Charleston feel. They serve wine & cheese between 5:00pm & 6:00pm on the patio. This is a nice touch & allows you to chat with other guest & compare where to go for dinners & sight seeing. We were very comfortable here. The location is perfect.

Great location, There is a parking deck immediately across from the hotel so very simple to park. They offer a wine/ cheese hour which was nice to sit outside and relax to.

This inn was tucked away in the perfect location for easily walking to many dining and entertainment options. Parking at the garage across the street was convenient. We used the bikes for a beautiful ride through the battery and all around the peninsula.

Best hotel because the parking garage is 20 a day(aka 24 hours). Other count the day till midnight then count the next day as soon as 12 am hits. Staff was super nice, water was outside with cups all day.

The folks that work there are great workers.. our third time staying at the Elliot House and the continental breakfast is gone as well as wine offerings were thin. I would, most likely, stay again but will now explore other Inns in the area.

There is no parking so you have to park across the street in a multi level parking garage. You then have to haul all your luggage across a busy street. Our trip was 2 weeks so that was a lot of luggage to haul. The tiny elevator is so old that the sign on it says only ONE person at a time can use it. A little difficult when trying to manage your luggage cart! The ceiling and floors are so old and not updated that we were up our entire first night as the people above us were walking and jumping around from 11:30 pm-4:45 am. There was no one to help us as the front desk is closed from around 10:30 pm-7:00am. The positives of the hotel were the great location and the updated shower in the bathroom....

The Elliott Inn is perfectly located within walking distance of most places to visit. There are two great restaurants that are on each side of the hotel (a bit expensive!) for convenience. The room was nothing to rave about except that the bed was very comfortable. No coffee makers in the room which aggravated the hubby but coffee is served in the courtyard each morning as well as wine and cheese in the evening. The property does need some updating and cleaning on the outside but the rooms were very clean. Because it is an old historical building, the ceilings and walls are not very noise proof. We experienced loud stomping around several times at night above us. The bathrooms looked as if they had been renovated recently and the shower was nice and spacious although the water pressure was mediocre. The parking is very limited in this area but fortunately there was a parking garage right across the street from the hotel for $20 per day. I would say for the price we paid, it was not worth it. However, Charleston is not cheap to visit. We did have a great time while there!

The location was great. Close to everything. The front desk folks were very nice and helpful. I found the room to be very tiny and was a bit disappointed that the view from the window was of the side of a building just a few feet away. Everything was fine but there was a light fixture in the bathroom that was super dusty and the worst thing was there was something brown on the tile that I cleaned up. I could tell the floor had not been mopped. Sorry

The room was clean. No accommodation for a microwave. The toilet bowl was dirty with a ring in it. Mosquitos were coming in the room. The AC unit was working well enough. The sink stand was rusty. The offer the wine and cheese, but only for 1 hour. We were not made aware of $75 oft of dining. We had to make the reservation through them. Although I made my reservation through Expedia. But I’m still a paying customer. So we didn’t get anything special.

Location was great but the property really needs renovation. Our room was very musty and smelled of mold. Needs painting. There was plaster exposed in the bathroom. Lighting was poor and air conditioner was loud. Bedding was clean and comfortable. I would not recommend. Spend the extra $ and stay at the Mills House next door. We stayed there on our last trip to Charleston and it was fabulous.

There was an overall feeling of lack of care - paint peeling from ceiling & walls, dead bugs along the baseboards, thick dust on bathroom light globes & entry door knob that wasn’t secure. Never going back!

The inn is a historical property on the National Registry, which prompted us to book it--however, old doesn't mean the room has to be dusty and shabby. In addition, there was no housekeeping during our 5 night stay. If you wanted fresh towels, you had to go downstairs and pick them up yourselves. Very disappointed and underwhelmed with this inn!

Location was convenient. After about 10-11pm the area was quiet. Our ground level room was only tolerable. Two ugly white chairs that had yellowed and looked dirty. Bottom of door old wood with gap under door. No wonder cockroach was in bathroom. Bed was comfortable and linens clean but very wrinkled. Hair dryer would not stay plugged into outlet. In shower, we had to remove bathtub plug to allow water to drain. Heating unit worked sufficiently but was really loud making a rattling sound. Free coffee tea and fresh fruit in morning. Inn not worth the price. It felt like a cheap motel with upgrades such as local artwork and marble bathroom counter. Will not return.

Very loud. Could not sleep a single night out of 3. Rooms got renovated, but all smell muggy & stuffy. Outside area is not kept up properly. Reception hour is nice. Coffee in the morning is bad. Jeremy - staff member - very helpful. Location is perfect

Lovely room, very comfortable and clean, really nice shower. The AC was loud, as was noise from the road, so request a room further back if you are a light sleeper. The courtyard is lovely and we enjoyed the complimentary cheese and wine in the evening. All the staff we came into contact with were super friendly and helpful. We found the hotel to be in walking distance of everything we wanted to do, with a lot of good places to eat and things to do nearby. Overall I would definitely recommend.

Super convenient location to downtown Charleston. Room was clean with updated bathroom, comfortable bed and nice linens. The no room service policy held over from Covid I guess, SUCKS. Had to go office for clean towels. Noisy AC unit made a comfortable sleep difficult as it was right next to bed! Ended up shutting it off so we could sleep! Central garden area with coffee in the morning and wine and cheese at night was a nice touch, but restaurant patio next door ruined the quiet ambiance desired.

We enjoyed our stay - Our room was very quaint and clean! It is walkable to restaurants and main site seeing, it felt safe, and we enjoyed the complementary wine/cheese and coffee/tea in the courtyard. One thing I would change is the room doesn't get very dark, there's bright lights outside the room and the window shades don't close all the way. Also our room backed up to the service stairwell where we heard noise in the evening from workers at the restaurant next door (but thankfully not while we were sleeping).

It was very well located for walking, shopping, museums, dining. The check in was easy. The rooms are owned like condos and run like a hotel. My room was pretty nice. The mattress was amazing however, it wa right on Queen Street with a parking garage right across the street and a street light right outside one window. The room had plantation shutters. Nice touch but the need black out drapes or shades as well. Hard to sleep!!!!!

Elliott House Inn is within a few minutes walk to dining, historical district and shopping. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to your needs. They have cruiser bikes you can use which is very nice too!

Beautiful property with gorgeous rooms. Had a late check in and the process was easy and safe. The staff were so professional and courteous. I received multiple calls prior to checking in to make sure I knew exactly what to do to get into my room. Couldn’t ask for better service.
Beautiful property with gorgeous rooms. Had a late check in and the process was easy and safe. The staff were so professional and courteous. I received multiple calls prior to checking in to make sure I knew exactly what to do to get into my room. Couldn’t ask for better service.

I could hear everything in the room above me as they checked out at 4:30am. I could hear a guest snoring in the room next to me. There was a leak in my bathroom coming from the ceiling. No service what so ever. The hotel attendant had no people skills at all. This could be a good place if they had decent caring staff and some attention to details … never again for me.

Cute property, most of the staff was staff was very nice. They put out tea and coffee each morning and wine each night. Good location. Our room wasn’t cleaned once in 4 nights. Had to request new towels and new bed linens and change them ourselves. Then got a nasty call from front desk that our checkout was 20 minutes ago and we needed to get out asap. We left a few minutes later. Never an apology or notice that our room wouldn’t be cleaned and a rude ending for guest who never complained and took care of their own room.

I really enjoyed our stay at Elliott House Inn. I originally booked based on price and also convenience of the area but almost cancelled after ready external reviews. I am very glad I did not. Staff was friendly at check in and printed us a list of their favorite things to do in the area. We were given real keys instead of keycards which I thought was kind of nice. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we were able to use the elevator to get our luggage up. The chairs in the room did have some stains but the room was very clean and all the chairs did was hold my luggage anyway. The shower was tricky to figure out how to turn on but was very nice. The bed was comfortable, my husband had been having trouble sleeping and was able to sleep the whole night. The area was quiet at night during our stay as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the coffee/tea available each morning. We partook in the wine/cheese hour one evening and were pleased. The courtyard feels like a vacation within itself - almost like being in Europe. The location of the hotel was close to several restaurants and shops - we were able to walk most places we wanted to go to in downtown Charleston. We parked in the deck across the street which was easily accessible and cost $60 for 3 nights. I would absolutely consider staying here again if in the area.

Location is excellent, but the management staff are the rudest people I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. I stayed for 5 nights and my room was not serviced a single time. No staff on the premises between 10p.m. and 7a.m.

Loved the friendly staff and Jessica was very helpful moving us from a top floor noisy room facing the street to a quieter room further inside the complex. Really enjoyed happy hour each evening too

Elliott House Inn is within a few minutes walk to dining, historical district and shopping. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to your needs. They have cruiser bikes you can use which is very nice too!

Walkable to Market & Battery areas. The wine & cheese in the courtyard was delightful. Our room was comfortable and true to the old home it used to be. As advised there is no daily housekeeping. Street noise such as garbage trucks starts very early. As we were on the top floor in the corner we heard street noise but not noise from other guests.

Great location easy to walk anywhere in the French Quarter. Two great restaurants on either side of the bed-and-breakfast. Friendly people. Two garages. One across the street one down the street. Reasonable price $20 a day.

Overall good experience. Blocks from the battery. And a few blocks from the market. Great customer service. Clean room not cramped. Husk is right next door if you’re looking for a nice dinner.

Very cute place with a unique Charleston feel. They serve wine & cheese between 5:00pm & 6:00pm on the patio. This is a nice touch & allows you to chat with other guest & compare where to go for dinners & sight seeing. We were very comfortable here. The location is perfect.

Great location. Courtyard was nice. Wine and cheese was a nice touch. Cons. Food was left from previous guest. The walls were peeling. There was no continental breakfast. There was coffee and a banana. There was no parking. Had to park at the garage across the street.

Elliott House has Charleston charm and is within walking distance to the sights & great restaurants in historic Charleston. We were disappointed that the wine & cheese reception that Expedia listed on the website isn’t currently happening. The inn very graciously offered us a bottle of wine but there is so much in the area, we never took them up on the offer. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to booking Elliott House again in the future 🙂

Our room was next to a restaurant and they kept us up till 4 am throwing bottles in trash, could hear people above and next to us using their bathroom. They advertised free breakfast and that there was a bar and there was neither, just wine and coffee in courtyard. Sorry, not worth the money for this small room under set of steps also. We did not sleep at all and had just drove 5 hrs then had to drive 8 hrs next day

Wish parking was closer. The room we stayed in was clean and bathroom was clean. However think there was or is a leak in the wall of bathroom as the wall was wet and paint is bubbling. Hope it’s not a termite issue.

Elliot House Inn is nice, and a fantastic location for trekking around Charleston. It wasn’t what we remembered from years back. Parking is convenient but expensive. The wine and cheese at 5:00 is nice, and they have coffee in the morning in the court yard but nothing in the room. That’s the extent of the amenities. So it’s a fine room in good location.

We had an amazing time and the hotel is in a great location. Very quiet after a long day, and there were 3 fantastic restaurants within a block. Would stay again if I go back.
