This La Quinta property was not as nice as others we’ve stayed in before. There are two buildings where they have rooms and we stayed in the “other” bldg adjacent to the check in/front desk. We booked online and a price was advertised but upon check-in we were told if we want to stay in the “main” bldg it would be an additional $10. Not that big of a deal but unexpected. We didn’t think it mattered too much so we opted for the one we had the reservation for. I would definitely pay the extra $10 if I stayed there again. Our room was on the side of the adjacent freeway which was VERY loud through the night and not the opposing “riverview” which would’ve been prettier to look at and quieter. As far as the room, it was meh. Not exactly dirty but just old and rundown. The shower curtain rod was angled up so much that it would NOT stay up on either side so it only covered the middle of the tub area. It’s one of those places you don’t want to walk around the room barefoot either. Beds were decent but nothing to shout about. Towels were thin and cheap but not surprising. We didn’t eat at the breakfast which was basically a carb-fest and decided to skip. We were only there one night as we were traveling up the coast and not vacationing there. It was a bed and a shower but not much else. Oh and you also have to pay $11 for parking and it was just a basic lot in front of the property.

Roaches in the room at night and small crab in the room during the morning. Not my usual stay, but needed something quick. Thank God I didn't pay for 2 nights. Second night in another hotel that is awesome. Sorry, but we not pleased and my son was uncomfortable with the room / environment.

Check in was easy and greeted by a very pleasant person. The location was great to downtown and to the VA hospital. Arrive early if you want breakfast because they will clean up earlier and will not be able to get anything.
