Best Western Inn at the Rochester Airport

THE HOTEL IS VERY SHABBY. THE AIRPORT VAN IS A PIECE OF JUNK, DOORS BARLEY OPEN AND CLOSE AND THE UPHOLSTERY WAS TORN. DO NOT STAY IN THIS BROKEN DOWN OPERATION.

Perfect for I needed- airport hotel. Front desk employee was working double time running shuttle and front desk. He did an excellent job.

Shuttle was dangerous the seat was ripped and coil spring was exposed. Almost ripped my pants. The running boards were rusted out making a possible slip, trip or fall potential. Staff was attentive and friendly.

Travelocity listing shows property has laundry facilities. It does not.

Property was under renovation but still fully functional. Breakfast was good. Rate was fair. Location was great. No wifi. Had to use airports!

It is very weird that I only seen Men working. Also when checking in the Man at the counter looks right pass me and asked the guy behind me how he could help him. I had to speak up and say no I am next as I was right in front of him. You can not walk the hall late or they will yell as I am a late night person not an early morning person. Breakfast is horrible and not much of an option. Does not have a pool.

This location didn’t look too nice from outside but the inside was better it was under going renovations at the time of our stay. But the room was clean and there was plenty of parking.

Easy shuttle to the airport in the morning so someone doesn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to take you

Great for overnight stay prior to an early flight. They have a shuttle service, as well.

Vending machines empty, cash only. The staff fixed the issue with giving me a warm soda, ice machines weren’t working either. Shower was the worse, hot water literally had a trickle. Not worth the $150 I paid for one night, probably worth $60/night. I was close to airport and they did have a shuttle.

The bedrooms smell so bad! The bathroom was filthy. Hair in the tub from the previous person. Was expecting so much more from a best western but never again! The property needs to be updated. Rooms as well. Too much light comes in through the curtains at night, when they are closed. Heat wasn’t working the 1st night. They did switch us rooms. But 2nd room smelled just as bad.

The place smells and is unkempt. Sink was dirty with toothpaste and someone’s facial hair. The shower also had a lot of hair by the drain. The best was not made property nor were the sheets clean. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. If it’s one night stay in the airport. If more find somewhere else.

The shower curtain had brown stains. Blood stains behind the toilet on the wall. Toilet seat wouldn't stay secure and I asked to have it looked at, but no one ever did. I had to try to tighten the bolts underneath. It wouldn't stay. I'm 77 years old and it wasn't easy. Weird smell in the elevator area. Bed was very hard and we had trouble sleeping. Some of the desk attendants were difficult to understand. Vending machines were not working.

Accommodations were fine, not poor, but not excellent. Room was somewhat small, bathroom very small. There is nothing in the vicinity, so driving to a restaurant is necessary. At one end of a runway, so the airplane noise can be considerable, although landings/takeoffs are suspended during nighttime hours.

Continental breakfast wasn’t ready at 6am like advertised. Had to leave at 630 am and it still wasn’t ready. The blanket and pillows had a fishy smell to them. Absolutely disgusted about that, everything else was average. Room size was small and tv was slightly outdated. Cost of one night wasn’t worth it should’ve slept in my car instead.

The location was extremely convenient, but the room was dingy and run down.

A little run down, but enjoyed a comfortable bed and a quiet room. But… only one plug worked to charge my phone and afterwards, run my CPAP machine.

The bed is so NOT COMFORTABLE!!! Got up with a backache

Affordable and decent stay, a bit noisy, but that’s to be expected being across the street from the airport. Overall it met our needs

The television in the room was not working

Honestly, I can tell this hotel is trying to improve. Renovations are ongoing, and there wasn't anything really WRONG during my stay ... but I just wasn't all that impressed. The room I stayed in was super dated and the furniture was ... tired. The couch was sagging in, the bed was unimpressive, and the bathroom vanity was postcard sized. The best thing going for this hotel is the extremely close proximity to the airport, and on that front it definitely delivered. I had a 6:00 am flight, and it took me less than 10 minutes to drive over, return my rental car, and get to the terminal check-in area. Convenient? Yes. Inspiring? Not at all.

The hotel was literally across the street from the airport. You can definitely hear some airplanes. The bathroom can use more room. There’s barely much counter space. It has the basics and nothing more. It’s a average hotel to sleep and go.

There was no one at the front desk for 1 hour at 8 pm.I called main number customer service. She was at a loss and couldnt find anyone to help me. I was alone and scared and crying ....it ruined my trip . I will never stay at a Best Western again

the owner said he would take us to airport and pick us up when we come back. called office twice no answer. we lucked out there were two cabs outside the airport. they drove us to hotel ,the manager was there I went inside and ask him why he didn't answer the phone, I called twice. He said he we helping someone. When I called the hotel it ran so long Igot the 800 # service they apologized and couldn't help us. That when we took the cabs.

When arrived to check in after 5.5 hrs drive with 2 children they said that my reservation was cancelled stating that my card was rejected which was not true. Stated that they contact me by phone, not true, that they sent me an email which was not true. I checked my emails and no notification was received however I received it a few minutes after I was there at 10:51pm. I called Expedia where i did the reservation and they also never received cancellation and didn’t see any issues with my card. They told the same thing to another elderly couple whom they also picked up at the airport with the same story. They didn’t have any other room available and the whole Rochester area was completely full. I called along with the help of another hotel we tried to call over 20 hotels within and around the area and everything was booked. We had to sleep in our car for that night. This hotel only had one person serving as the reception, driver, everything. This has been the worst experience.

The property is currently under renovation. Excellent staff and services—I would like to mention the hotel's GM, Shri. Shri ensured that any issues were followed up on and addressed to the guest's satisfaction. We will stay when we visit Rochester in the future.

The staff is not very available - when I called from the airport for the shuttle no one answered - fortunately I met two other traveler headed there who did get thru but waited a very long time. And once I was locked out of my room and no one was at the desk - it too at least 15 minutes for someone to show up to reactivate my card even though the sign siad "be back in a moment"

Overall it was okay for our one-night stay. The two different people we saw at the front desk were both on the phone taking personal calls for extended periods of time and seemed like they could not be bothered. Check-in is regularly 3pm and a room was not ready until 2:45, even with paying an early check-in fee. Parking was included and easy. The bed was comfortable and the noise from the nearby planes was not that bad since I had a sound machine for sleeping. The hotel was fine, it was really the service that was lacking.

Choose this hotel because it was close to the airport annd had a free shuttle and we just needed a place close for a late arriving flight. My husband had called ahead to make sure the shuttle was available at the time our flight was arriving and we were told it is a 24hr shuttle service. I was traveling with my sister and my 11 year old daughter. When we arrived, no one was answering the phone at the hotel so we could request a shuttle from the airport. After about 20 mins of trying to call and talking to reps at the call center who were also not able to get ahold of the hotel staff,?we were about to order an uber instead as it was late and I had my daughter with me. Finally my husband who was back home was able to get them on the phone to request a pick up by the shuttle. When the shuttle driver arrived he complained about having to pick us up and told us it was his last day because he didn’t want to work anymore because he was 76. We tried to be polite and congratulate him on his retirement but he was very rude and seemed irritated by everything ( that we didn’t have luggage, when I misunderstanding a question he asked, etc) It made for a very uncomfortable ride. The person the person at the front desk was talking to someone in his earbud the whole time he checked us in so I couldn’t tell if he was talking to me or the person on the phone. The room was as expected and the people in the the morning were friendly unfortunately I would not recommend this place.

check-in confusion between Best Western info and expedia info, as if there had not been any communication between the inn and expedia. one had our group for one room - while expedia had us correctly as 2 rooms. Luckily, a second room was available also, the first room we were assigned had an unmade bed! the inn did assign us a new room within a few minutes

I had to wait for a half hour at midnight to get someone to check me in. Even calling - no one assisted me. Even worse was when someone came finally- they didn’t even apologize. And actually made the mistake excuse that they normally don’t work this shift but saw me standing whixh is why he came in to help. I’m appalled at this whole experience after a late night flight. And would never recommend anyone stay here

The location was extremely convenient to the airport, and the hotel shuttle on demand was very helpful. Only a 10 minute drive to University of Rochester as well. The room was clean, the hotel property well cared for, and the staff friendly. The area of town surrounding the hotel left quite a bit to be desired, but we did not feel unsafe. We would stay here again.

Terrible do not stay here. We were over charged even after I showed my conformation. No hot water, door to bathroom would not latch, vending machine did not work, morning coffee was from day before, this place sucked.

We had a very brief stay, as we headed straight from the airport late night and left the following morning. The airport shuttle from the hotel was very prompt and convenient. The breakfast had a variety and was pretty good.

I specifically stayed here because everything on the website and when you called and talked to the desk they said they had a breakfast that started at 6 AM. Not the case. They have a paper note on the wall that says 7 AM. Not a big deal but I had to spend money on breakfast all week.

With a procedure scheduled at the hospital for my husband - I needed to eat before we left. “Breakfast” was a joke! There were no knifes for the waffles or brea/ toast. When I asked, he just said no and shook his head. The “hot” water was cold and had a film in it. The donuts were old- glaze melted. OJ like water. Terrible!

Worst Best Western hotel we have ever stayed in. Breakfast was served in dollar store paper plates and plastic forks. There were no ripe bananas, nor any other fruits. Not up to Best Western standards at all.

I enjoyed the breakfast options, especially the waffle maker. Coffee was too strong.

Overall, this was a good hotel for the price. It was clean enough, quiet enough, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast (included) was almost as good as some hotels where you pay extra for it. This would have been a 4 or 5-star review except that: 1) The hotel manager changed my reservation without any warning. I had no idea until my family walked into our room and discovered it wasn't what we had reserved. We reserved a room that accommodated our specific sleeping arrangements, and they gave us something else that made our stay much less comfortable. The room itself wasn't bad...it just didn't align with our specific needs, and it wasn't what we reserved for that reason. 2) The hotel was missing the "easy to do" little things. For example, we had no soap in our shower, because the dispenser was empty. There was no pen or paper in the desk drawer for writing notes, so I had to run out to our car to find one. There were no serving utensils at breakfast, so we had to use our small plastic utensils to scoop the scrambled eggs and sausage (which is harder than it sounds). So, I'm subtracting a couple of stars primarily for changing my reservation without any warning (let alone asking me), and for being lazy with the little things after I was already annoyed with them for the bigger thing.

Decent hotel near Rochester airport. Free breakfast included, but everything was substandard.

Airport shuttle was my reason for selecting it. Nice grab and go breakfast at 5am. Water pressure in sink low. Would have been nice to have ramen in vending machine.
