Room was clean, several stains on the carpet. If you want breakfast it was roughly another $15-16 per adult. They only have two elevators and one was broken so it took forever to get from the fourth floor to the lobby.

We enjoyed our stay with connecting rooms as we had grandchildren. Both pools were nice and weightroom too. If consideration of future additions a hot tub would be great.

When we arrived, the room was missing a few finishing touches. None of the lights went on with the light switch, so we had to manually turn each one on. There was only one coffee cup in the room. The bathtub had a purple haze to it. Also, the staff member who checked us in did not tell us about an internet password or point us to the elevators (we were on the 4th floor and we didn’t see any signs pointing us to the elevators), but we were able to check in early at 2:30pm instead of 4pm, which was really helpful for us. We were really thankful the indoor pool was working! Overall, a good stay.

For the price, I expected more. Turns out, the only real ammenity was the location. No mini fridge, no vending on my floor, and the indoor pool isn't heated so it was freezing. And half of the hotel was without power during my stay. No storm, just blowing main breakers. And housekeeping came to my room at 9 when checkout is at 11. I've stayed at much better for much less. My family and I will not be returning.

The rooms and pool were great. We had a couple of issues. They have free breakfast but only ON WEEKENDS - important to know if you’re traveling during the week. Also they have laundry but it’s coin operated and the manager wasn’t there so we couldn’t buy quarters - they may want to switch to the card operated kind of allow their other employees access to the coins.

Excellent staff! Older hotel with some kinks but hotel staff did everything they could to accommodate and made it easy to get towels when you have dogs in the room. Very inexpensive room rate. Only downside is if you’re looking to eat at the hotel the restaurant wasn’t always open, staffed, and ran out of food. That said, PLENTY of walkable options to eat elsewhere unless you’re extremely disabled. Not perfect but they certainly did their best Especially under the circumstances of how many simultaneous conferences were going on and how full the hotel was.

Staff of great! But the cleanliness was another story. Carpets were still covered in pet hair, down the hallway to the elevator and in my bedroom when I arrived. If you're going to be a pet friendly hotel, you should have equipment that can handle dog hair on a daily basis. Also, my bed sheets had yellow stains on them. They're white so it was easy to spot, flipped that sheet to the foot of the bed because they were small areas and the rest of the sheets were fine. Lastly, besides the smell of old carpet or something hitting me in the face every time I walked into my room that was about it. Oh, also, you need to update your "Hotels.com" website that they do not serve complimentary breakfast anymore! I was very disappointed when I got there are there dining area was not set up that next morning.

Hair in tub, spilled stuff on floor, ripped couch, torn up carpet, non smart tv, TV has lines due to about to go out. Bed lumpy and dips, did not have the room we booked, moved us to another room that was not accessible. Had to use lobby bathroom for wheelchair accessibility. And so much more…

Had to move rooms twice because the first room had mold/mildew all over the ceiling and smelled, the 2nd room’s A/C was so loud and clanking. Ended up having to stay in the 3rd room because that was all that was left and the floors were filthy. We will never stay here again.

The whole hotel needs an upgrade. It’s just kind of dingy. There were burns in the carpet, low water pressure, no fridge, dirty curtains. The bed sheets and towels were clean. The staff were helpful.

I really enjoyed the lobby area and the out door fire pit with music. My room was clean, but needed some fixing. The curtains were too long and bunched at the bottom and were dragging on the floor. The bottom of the bathroom door was warped like it was wet at some point. The popcorn ceiling looked patched in places. The service was good and the hallways and stairwell were clean.

The room was severely outdated. There was a hole in the ceiling by the sprinkler system. The AC sounded horrendous. The bed was anything but comfortable (could feel springs everywhere). We actually ended up only staying in the room for about an hour before deciding to just check out and go to the Oasis.

Nice staff, easy check in. Clean enough room. One lamp wasn’t plugged in, the only outlet near it was already full. The room was warm even with the A/C on 60. Would stay here again though!

Check in was quick and the location was great for the activities we had planned. However, the rooms were severely outdated. The king size bed was comfortable, but the pull out couch was really old and had stains on the mattress. The shower had a crack in the wall that was just plastered over. The breakfast buffet was overpriced for what it was. Overall, the place needs a serious update, but if that’s not very important to you and you just want somewhere close to campus, then it will do.

The AC unit was very loud in the room and all of the smells from the restaurant below filtered into the room as soon as breakfast was being made. Time for a make-over.

I definitely liked the property. I was just disappointed with the check in process since I had to wait an hour past. Check in to get into my room after I'd already been waiting several hours since they don't allow people to check in early.

We were driving 8 hours to Springfield after a 12 hour work day. I knew we wouldn’t be arriving until late, so I called the hotel to give them a heads up that we would still be coming and asked them to please not give away the king bed room we reserved. The kind woman on the phone said it would be no problem and she would make note in my account for the next person coming in. When we arrived at 2:42am to check-in, the young man at the front desk said we could not check in. He said “the system already reset for the night” and there was nothing he could do to help us until it rebooted the next morning. I asked him what his suggestion for us was, as we only had 4 hours at this point to get some sleep before an 8am meeting. He suggested we wait in the lobby until morning or find another hotel. So that’s exactly what we did - found (and had to pay) for another hotel down the street. I asked if I could atleast be refunded and he also claimed he was unable to do that due to the computer shut down. I have loyally been staying at university plaza for years. My parents got married there. After this experience, and the lack of help or compassion I received from the young gentleman working, I am not sure I’ll be going back. He could have called and asked our ETA. He could have gone ahead and activated room keys knowing we were still coming (since I called and gave a heads up). Instead he said “there was nothing he could do for us”. Very disappointing.

So that’s exactly what we did - found (and had to pay) for another hotel down the street. I asked if I could atleast be refunded and he also claimed he was unable to do that due to the computer shut down. I have loyally been staying at university plaza for years. My parents got married there. After this experience, and the lack of help or compassion I received from the young gentleman working, I am not sure I’ll be going back. He could have called and asked our ETA. He could have gone ahead and activated room keys knowing we were still coming (since I called and gave a heads up). Instead he said “there was nothing he could do for us”. Very disappointing.

Hotel was good, but had some serious issues. 1 - no towels at all in the room. (We had to go to the desk to get some because phone was not working). 2 - Most frustrating. The hideaway bed (sofa bed) that was advertised as part of this room, had no bedding at all available. Went to front desk, but was told that there was none available. My 18yr old son slept the first night with no sheets, pillows, or blankets. I am frustrated that I did not receive what was promised for the price I paid. Especially since Springfield has lots of options. Thanks for listening, Ron & Amy Barker

I stay at UP a few times a year and not too long ago, I have felt the rooms have gone down hill. AC not working correctly, noisy or dripping water on the floor. Check in was a bit of a nightmare, but this last visit, my room was clean and perfect. Check in was fast and easy.

Did not enjoy the check-in process at all. Had to wait an hour to get checked in because our room “wasn’t ready.” Both my husband and I used to travel for a living and never waited so long for our room to be ready. There was also children’s running circles, racing each other, yelling and screaming. So very inconvenient and I’m thankful we weren’t trying to rest at the time, but I’m sure others were and I felt sorry for them. Probably won’t be choosing this hotel again.

We waited 45 minutes for someone to check us in at the front desk. Rooms did not match the photos on the website (they must of been taken when the hotel FIRST opened). The rooms are in complete disarray, dirty and in heavy need of renovation. We ended up switching from the first room because the shower head was broken, the toilet had low flushing pressure, and the TV didn't work. I understand the "get what you pay for" mentality, but I would expect this from a motel not a hotel, especially not a quality inn. The staff member who took care of us was friendly and did her absolute best to work with what she had, so I want to emphasize we did not have any problems with her but the way the entire place is run. A $100 deposit on a room where everything is dirty, broken, patches and rundown is absolutely ridiculous. What's left to break? Would absolutely recommend finding a different hotel.

Nice. Clean. Front desk personnel were not always available and could have been more friendly. Pool area could have been cleaner. Coffee shop was great. Excellent service and the baked goods were fresh and delicious. Baristas were very friendly, offered suggestions and attentive to guests.

I was there for a conference and it didn’t really seem like there were enough staff to efficiently handle the group. The conference food was repetitive and not very good which is disappointing. If I had been there for any other reason I would have no complaints. I adored the staff in the coffee shop!

Beautiful place, oerfect walking distance to JQH Arena. My only complaints would be that there was no mini fridge in the room, the on-site restaurant Terrace Grille was never open while we were there, not in the evening or at breakfast. Also, no continental breakfast??? I thought about all hotels served continental breakfast these days! Super unexpected and disappointing! Was it because we stayed midweek on a Wednesday??? I feel like we were cheated.. i will give some props for the lady who was working the coffee shop that morning! She was swamped with guests (who were probably expecting a continental breakfast) and she kept her cool and was quick and professional and resoectful. Super professional and admirable withhow she handled the stress of the crowd all by herself and not letting it show, just kept plugging along cool as a cucumber! Give that girl a raise!!!

Breakfast buffet was excellent ($15 adult). Every time I'm in town for a Springfield Cardinals game I always stay at this hotel because its within walking distance of the stadium. The king size bed was so comfy.

There was a constant high pitched whine from the bathroom wall. There was no maid service the 3 days I was there. I had to get my own towel replacements. Damaged walls and tiles leakong fauxets. . I'm sure it could be a great place of there were more attention to detail.

We went down for breakfast and we were told that we needed a voucher. The front desk told us that we did not pay for it when we booked our room through Expedia. So, we ended up having to pay over $18 a piece to eat. We just assumed when the property said breakfast available, that it was included in the room price. It would have been helpful if the website would make it very clear that it has to be purchased separately. Also, the front desk could have informed us about the breakfast situation once we checked in.

The coffee maker in the room was broken. We called the front desk to ask for another one. She said housekeeping would bring one. About 20 mins later a guy knocks on the door and I think he’s bringing the coffee maker. No he was there to strip the beds and get dirty linens. We hadn’t even checked out. I explained the maker was broken. He didn’t speak much English. He finally got my point and tried the maker himself. He then left and got us a brand new one. Hooray!! Then about 20 mins later the housekeeper knocks on the door and comes in. She realizes we haven’t checked out and apologizes. Glad I wasn’t naked lol. We didn’t like paying extra for parking. Parking should be included. We are already paying a bunch for the room. Why charge us extra to park?
