The hotel was very quaint and quiet. It was in a quiet location and very easy to get to everything. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. Pool area was cute for the kids with a little splash park. Gym equipment didn’t work and was a bit outdated. Overall a good experience. We would definitely recommend and be back for another stay.

Very nice property with mini golf, swimming pool, ping pong, corn hole, and weight room. I didn't like the resort fee of $20.00 per day. That was a surprise when i checked out. Also buildings on property that are very unkept and run down. Trees growing out of spouting and roof. Definitely an eyesore. Also, only continental breakfast, not hot food.

This was a great place for my family of 4 to stay for a weekend at Busch Gardens. The grounds were well kept and a lot of activities for small children including the pool, splash pad, and putt putt. Also, well stocked continental breakfast and clean rooms! We’ll definitely be staying here again!

Check in was a wait. Everytime I came down to the lobby there was always a line of people waiting. The AC unit only kept the bedroom cool. The living room where my child slept was hot the whole time. The beds could have been more comfortable. The ice machines were not working. We found a least 4 that were out of order near our room. The things we did like was our room was clean and a nice size. The staff is friendly. The pool is very nice. It’s close to the visitor center. The shuttle is convenient.

This was a great place for the price. Location is ideal for walking access to the historic area. Rooms were clean and well serviced throughout our stay. This is an ideal “family” spot as it has many amenities for the young. I would have given it 5 stars but they currently had two less than ideal conditions. There is a closed onsite restaurant (Huzzah) that would have added a very nice amenity for those seeking an off hour treat without leaving the facility. Second, the miniature putt equipment needed some major TLC as some holes had dilapidated borders and surfaces that were in need of replacement. While we did not play, I noticed many others using it and wondered why it was not better maintained given the great condition of the rest of the facility? I would highly recommend this complex for your next stay. It is in a beautiful wooded setting and well worth the dollars!

Our room was such a long way from the lobby that we had to plan around not having to go back to the room. Ice machines were not working except on the first floor. Some air conditioning in hallways and common areas not working. When we booked it said there was a restaurant on site. It has been closed since Covid.

The hotel is right in the middle of Historic Williamsburg. It was very affordable and well-kept. The outdoor pool was nice but the miniature golf course and surrounding grounds were not well maintained.

LOTS of high school groups, in our 4 night stay we saw hundreds of kids from all over the US, large busses picking up and dropping off daily. Cold breakfast is charged for whether you eat it or not, over $20 a day. Cheap toiletries and uncomfortable foam pillows, outdated and inadequate A/C. The pool was closed, the putt putt golf and shuffle board were unusable due to lack of maintenance. Great location.

A hidden gem! Price was very reasonable for the well appointed facilities. Could not believe how fresh and clean every aspect was from the public restroom to the hotel room. Even the carts used to clean the rooms were well organized and heavily stocked. We can't wait to return for another wonderful stay! This will definitely be our go to hotel in Williamsburg.

Room smelled musty and there was black mold growing on the wallpaper. Manager wasn’t concerned about the issues. I have asthma and the smell just closed me up. We checked out and found another hotel.

Our rooms were damp and smelled like mold. There is no fan in the bathrooms, and all the humidity from showering adds to the humidity in the room. All our clothes smelled like damp mold after a day as well. Seating in the breakfast area accommodates only a fraction of the guests, so our choices were sitting on a retaining wall and balancing our food on our legs, or making several trips to take food back to our moldy rooms. Many foods (eggs, bacon) had run out over an hour before the official end of breakfast. So if you plan to sleep in on your vacation, you will need to fight for scraps. We did not enjoy our stay and cannot recommend.

This place is not maintained. The microwave at the front desk was extremely dirty and nasty. Overall the hotel was not clean from the rooms to the hallways. Avoid it at all cost.

The location of this hotel is very convenient if you are planning on exploring the historical sites in Williamsburg as it is right next to the visitor center. The location is somewhat remote so in the evening it is dark and scary to be outside. The parking lots are not very well lit or in good condition. We were given a very smelly room as we were traveling with our emotional support dog. There are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms, so everything in the bathroom travels into the bedroom and stays there. There are dehumidifiers in every room, which are very loud and don’t add a positive touch to the experience. The stuff is very friendly and knowledgeable so five stars for that. The breakfast is very limited with mostly dry goods. The coffee is awful. Do not recommend.

Room smelled really bad, fire alarm went off for unknown reason, kids splash area has green mildew everywhere, the small pool in kids splash area seems looks doesn't look clean. The beds were clean, no observed bugs, location is good. Large pool looked clean and inviting. Staff was nice.

Good location, rooms were clean and overall I like the property. However it can really use some updating. The property has clearly not had a renovation in 10+ years. The TVs are tiny, the furniture is really outdated and the bathroom could use new faucets and shower head. It feels like the whole area is not being well maintained, weather that is due to the reduction in traffic in the area or the city's lack of funds (since the hotel is part of the visitor center lot) is unknown. Also, put a fitted sheet on the mattress. Instead they used just a flat sheet and it wasn't big enough to tuck into the mattress. All that being said, we will return to them in the future but hopefully one day they will complete some updates

Stayed a single night on our way down the coast. The lobby was clean and nicely designed. The room showed its age. The living area was dark as not much light came from the bedroom windows. The A/C unit was in the bedroom and struggled to cool the living area, and didn't at all if the bedroom door closed. Wall coverings, furniture, carpet were dated and tired. The bed was very firm. The positive- right next to the Visitor Center and path into the colonial city. Pet-friendly. Landscaping was well-maintained.

Williamsburg Woodlands is a wonderful facility. It is clean, the rooms are spacious and very well-maintained. The beds were comfortable and clean. The front desk was great and very receptive.. If there is one suggestion, I would give them, it would be to improve their Wi-Fi systems. There seems to be poor connection with the call phone services as well.. It made Internet services very slow and frustrating.. they could also perhaps work with the township to improve cell phone services better in the whole city..

We stayed here for 5 nights and it couldn’t have been more convenient to Colonial Williamsburg (walking distance). It’s very family friendly with the pool and splash pad open until 10pm, laundry facilities, free continental breakfast and free parking. We stayed in a king suite which was an enormous and comfortable room with a separate living room with sofa bed, two TVs, divided by a kitchenette area with a microwave and a refrigerator. It was only 9 minutes to Busch Gardens and we would stay here again and again if in this area.

The water in the 2 sinks did not get hot, only the water in the shower. The air conditioner struggled, and was very loud, could only get the bedroom area comfortable enough with the bedroom door shut, then the living room/bathroom area was hot. It felt more like a swamp cooler and made the room more humid. Other than those 2 things, everything else was excellent.

We were “upgraded” from a 2 double bed to a king with a pull out couch. A pull out is NOT an upgrade and my companion barely slept on the couch with a very old and thin mattress.

Checking in was slow. They only had two clerks that were handling both check in and concierge services. Parking was easy and the room was much larger than I had expected with a little living room and separate bedroom. The room was clean. The AC struggled a little to keep the large room cool, but worked fine when I shut the bedroom door. In fact the bedroom door was a blessing bc the room next to me had a kid who kept screaming and shouting. However, when I closed the bedroom door it helped cut down the outside sound. The internet signal was VERY WEAK. And several of the outlets in the room were shorting out. Some of the lights would constantly flicker, which was annoying. Lastly, the breakfast the next morning was disappointing. Aside from coffee and juice they only had hard boiled eggs, some toast, bagels, cereal, and fruit. I’ve seen better breakfast spreads at cheaper hotels. Anyhow, the place clearly needs an update, but it was spacious and well-located and safe. And the latter was the most important to me since I was traveling solo.

When I got to Woodlands, William & Mary College had to use the hotel to dorm the seniors, but the staff quickly had my accommodations ready at their sister hotel Williamsburg Lodge. They gave me a ride and the entire staff at both locations were wonderful. I was even given a ride to amtrak from Williamsburg Lodge when I left. They were lovely and so accommodating.

The front desk staff are so helpful. They go into detail of the grounds and accessing Colonial Williamsburg. The rooms are cleaned daily and continental breakfast daily for 3.5 hours. Highly recommended.

This is an ideal property to stay at if you want to visit the historic center of Williamsburg. The location is within walking distance, they were constantly cleaning and making sure our room and public areas were at their best. The front desk staff was amazing and answered all of our questions and the breakfast was welcomed and convenient. I will definitely be back when I am in this area again.

Solid hotel in the heart of colony Williamsburg. I could walk to the colonial areas of Williamsburg in less than 15 minutes. Probably less than 5 minutes if I drove and walked. 11/10 on location. The location more than makes up for any other minor shortcomings

Very convenient to historic area. Note though it’s a 15 minute walk from the visitors center to the rest of the historic area. Can take a bus though.

No frills but still some fun perks and things to do on the property. Super close to everything. We walked and took the bus and both ways were really easy and fast. Went downtown to eat every night just 5 minutes away.

Very nice property with mini golf, swimming pool, ping pong, corn hole, and weight room. I didn't like the resort fee of $20.00 per day. That was a surprise when i checked out. Also buildings on property that are very unkept and run down. Trees growing out of spouting and roof. Definitely an eyesore. Also, only continental breakfast, not hot food.

The convenience of the hotel and the discounts provided for Williamsburg were excellent. However, the hotel was terribly outdated and needs refreshing. The unused buildings and restaurant gives an abandoned feel to the whole complex. The dining experience needs improving because the hot food was limited or overcooked. Eating hard boiled eggs gets tiresome.

Very clean and extremely convenient to the visitors center. The WATA bus makes two stops nearby - 1 at Visitors Center, the other at the hotel itself. There’s a scenic walking trail to the historic area itself. The continental breakfast has a variety of options although there’s only a hot option every other day. I traveled solo but I could see this being great for families. There’s includes activities such as mini golf and pool, a laundry room, etc. A couple of water fountains so bring your reusable bottle and save some $$ and and planet.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly as always. We had an issue with our sink being clogged / wouldn’t drain on arrival and notified the desk on our way out for the day. They came in and cleaned the room but did not address the sink. One area I would like to address though is the breakfast. I’ve been staying here for years — decades, honestly. My last few visits the breakfast has become less and less. It used to be a really great spread of cooked breakfast items and DIY waffles and other breakfast standards. Then it was preheated breakfast sandwiches; it was fine and I got used to the change. This stay it was an apple fritter then a donut churro — and it wasn’t good. The on-site restaurant is closed. The breakfast has gone so far downhill that the employee at check-in was recommending other breakfast spots … I’m forever going to love this hotel and the walkability to the historic district and proximity to other attractions is unmatched, but don’t expect the same experience you might remember before COVID or the economy made simple pleasures more difficult for all of us … including the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suites.

Good hotel and really under maintained to its true potential. The amenities they had were wonderful. Pet friendly as well. The breakfast had decent options but no hot fresh breakfast. The kids had fun in the splash pad and the pool.

The hotel is simply fantastic. Starting with Norma at the front desk, the service and amenities were top notch. Our kids loved the water park and the awesome pool. Breakfast was very good. And then the visitor center is a couple of steps away. In summary, we recommend this hotel very highly
