Lovely little hotel in the centre of Tamworth, great breakfast and fantastically helpful and friendly staff. We love staying here, free parking is an added bonus.

Really nice. Lovely quirky room, great location, staff were great, nice bar downstairs, couldn’t fault it. Steep steps up to my room which I was Ok with but if you have mobility issues you should mention. But I’d 100% recommend this place.

Having eaten at Christopher's (excellent), I thought it only reasonable to expect the same high standards in the adjoining hotel - sadly not. The lady who checked me in was friendly and thorough but the accomodation felt tired and in need of some TLC in terms of decor and ambience. Lovely bed and bedding but poor quality / old towels and shower mat (all were frayed). No rubber mat available which meant the shower floor was very slippy however the toiletries were nice. It was a very hot couple of days and the fans were much appreciated but it was necessary to open the windows to get a flow of air - not easily done and it was then incredibly noisy due to the traffic (not the hotel's fault). I would have shared these comments on checking out but I was not asked how my stay was...

Great place if you want to cater for yourself . Kitchen is well fitted with cooker, microwave,fridge freezer and washing machine very clean and nice and warm . Cafe downstairs which is used for breakfast was only open a few days a week in the evening so i didn't use it. Limited tv reception but good wifi Only one issue came back late one night and the gate to parking and accom was closed. but when i checked it was not bolted so was able to get in

Stayed for one night whilst working in the area. All the hotel staff were very pleasant ,friendly and welcoming. The room was a reasonable size with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom along with good WIFI connection. The food in the bar / restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced. The cooked to order breakfast was very nice too.

Clean, comfortable room. Lovely, helpful staff and easy to check in and out. Great location for town too. Our only gripe was that the weather was warm and our upstairs room was uncomfortably hot, even with the fan provided. There was an air con unit in the room, but it needed an ice pack, so it didnt make any difference to us. Otherwise, lovely hotel and would definitely stay again.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Room 18 was incredibly hot & I was kept awake by a generator or some such noise outside my room even with the windows closed. I preferred the courtyard room I stayed in last time & will ask for this in future.

Great location for my event, but this hotel needs a refresh. Room is very dated and was extremely hot. Couldn't open a window and a fan was not available. Shower wouldn't stay at a usable temperature.

The Peel was a lovely old property in a central location with very friendly staff. It is an old property and with that comes small showers and stairs, but wouldn't have stayed anywhere else.

Great location for my event, but this hotel needs a refresh. Room is very dated and was extremely hot. Couldn't open a window and a fan was not available. Shower wouldn't stay at a usable temperature.

Really nice. Lovely quirky room, great location, staff were great, nice bar downstairs, couldn’t fault it. Steep steps up to my room which I was Ok with but if you have mobility issues you should mention. But I’d 100% recommend this place.

The Peel was a lovely old property in a central location with very friendly staff. It is an old property and with that comes small showers and stairs, but wouldn't have stayed anywhere else.

Having eaten at Christopher's (excellent), I thought it only reasonable to expect the same high standards in the adjoining hotel - sadly not. The lady who checked me in was friendly and thorough but the accomodation felt tired and in need of some TLC in terms of decor and ambience. Lovely bed and bedding but poor quality / old towels and shower mat (all were frayed). No rubber mat available which meant the shower floor was very slippy however the toiletries were nice. It was a very hot couple of days and the fans were much appreciated but it was necessary to open the windows to get a flow of air - not easily done and it was then incredibly noisy due to the traffic (not the hotel's fault). I would have shared these comments on checking out but I was not asked how my stay was...

Stayed for one night whilst working in the area. All the hotel staff were very pleasant ,friendly and welcoming. The room was a reasonable size with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom along with good WIFI connection. The food in the bar / restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced. The cooked to order breakfast was very nice too.

This isn't what you expect in a hotel. It's a bar/restaurant with curious opening times and with some rooms. The bar had closed at 9.45 one night when we went to have a drink. The next night we went to have dinner and were told that the kitchen had closed at 6pm. This morning the restaurant was closed when we went to have breakfast. As for the rooms, ours was accessed via a steep metal staircase open to the elements and not suitable for people with mobility difficulties. The room itself was OK but over-furnished. There was no information about the facilities such as bar and restaurant opening times, alternative places to have a drink or a meal, or the wifi code. On our first night the fire alarm went off at 2.45am and again at 3.30am, both false alarms. In the morning the staff knew nothing about it and the whole episode remained a mystery. It was an experience that will not be repeated.

Lovely hotel, very quiet, great shower and amazing four poster bed in our room. Free parking and availability despite it being a popular spot. Great location with an easy walk into town. Limited options in the restaurant downstairs due to the quiet time of year but the staff did their best to accommodate and we felt well looked after. Would stay here again.
