Hampton Inn Monroe

This is clearly a property in transition. Upon arriving, the desk agent was extremely friendly and helpful. The agent was equally friendly and helpful when we departed (although we didn't receive the promised receipt via email). Unfortunately, one of the reasons we selected this property was the availability of EV chargers, and we were told that, due to the construction, the chargers were disconnected. Under normal circumstances, this would have been catastrophic, but there happened to be a supercharger just next door. Everything is under construction, as the property did a decent job of keeping the dust and noise to a minimum. The room was fine, good size for our needs, but here is where the confusion starts. The room rate was higher than your typical "just off the highway" spot, and when you combine that with the active construction site, the EV charger mishap, and the bare-bones bedding, pillows, and towels, you get a confusing experience. The absolute best part: the well-varied breakfast with hot and cold foods and a strong cup of coffee. A perfect way to start the day. This property has a lot of potential, but right now, the rate is not aligned with the overall experience. Would we stay here again? Yes, but we would also consider other properties nearby too.

Hotel is currently under construction but everything was kept very clean. Beds are firm but comfortable. Breakfast offerings were good. This is my 2nd stay at this property and I would stay again, even during construction.

Since my stay 3 weeks ago the first floor has been completely dismantled for renovation. The public areas were quite dusty from all of the construction work being done. I feel they should have alerted people prior to booking. If one had a dust allergy this place would be unacceptable. However, my room on the 3rd floor was immaculate and quiet. It will be a great place to again but for some, not just now.

The hotel was under construction at the time of arrival. The pool was closed. Other than that it was a pleasant stay. The breakfast was good. They had omelets and sausage. Make your own waffles. The coffee could use attention as it was quite week.

We arrived and found out renovations were happening on the first floor - super messy, but unavoidable. Not upset about this in the least bit - but the price we paid for 1 night should have been reflected and we should have been made aware. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was good. Room was dated, but clean. Our door was broken - I couldn't lift it to lock, but my husband could. Curtains didn't cover the windows - which meant an early morning wake up.
