Really disliked the fact that there is no table service for drinks on the terrace, only glass collection service. This meant us having to get up, queue for very slow service at the bar, and struggle with 4 drinks down the steps. Drinks are over priced too. However, the non service policy is a missed opportunity on the part of the hotel to up-sell as glasses collected. This is a poor part of the hotel experience. Outside staff were very young, not trained other than is very basic skill of picking up glasses. The bar service was very slow and I had to stand and wait for a good few minutes before being served.

Good location in Canford Cliffs. Nice terrace and bar. Room nice but a tiny bit old fashioned, as was the hotel. Breakfast pleasant. Really not much to fault but not wow either. Would probably stay again so no complaints.

Very good location between Studland, Sandbanks, Poole and Bournemouth. The hotel though is tired, with outdated room furniture and decorations and missing modern conveniences like USB sockets. Bar v expensive, breakfast ok (granola bars great), slow service. Excellent views from the terrace

Nice hotel. Great location. Building is old so felt a little cold in some areas. But all understandable. Whirlpool bath was a nice surprise. Will visit again.

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome with a smiling greeting from the reception staff (Tania). This continued throughout with a friendly chat everytime we were coming and going. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and as we requested we had a harbour view. Tea and coffee facilities were good and there was also an empty fridge for guests to use. Breakfast choice and quality was very good and again the staff were very nice and smiling (Jazz). We ate in the in-house Amalfi restaurant on the Monday night. Having eaten at Rick Steins restaurant the previous night I would say that, having had fish starters and mains both nights, overall the Amalfi's whole dining experience, quality of food and service was better (at less than half the price), especially our waitress Meena who always had a happy smile. We even received a voucher at reception for a free bottle of wine. Plenty of room in the car park but it is their winter season so the hotel wasn't very busy. Only negative might be, for less able person walking, is that it is a very steep road from the beach up to the hotel but if you are using a car then no problem. Overall would definitely recommend.

Squeaky and uneven floor in our room needs attention and must have been irritating to room below. Breakfast was tasty but not four star, although granola bars were delicious. Dinner selection was good.

Nice location, room spacious but a little dated. Service ok but sometimes a little inconsistent. At breakfast they wanted to squeeze us in next a large group at the back of the restaurant rather than the obvious tables with the view of which there were several. Always offer your customer the worst experience, we declined and were reluctantly given the better table.

Really nice stay. Room very comfortable, great view, lovely bathroom with spa bath, healthy breakfast. We weren't impressed by the dinner menu on offer so went elsewhere. The hotel has fab views but I found it to be a bit drafty in the restaurant and lounge areas

I can only imagine what this place used to be. The views are breathtaking but the hotel has certainly seen better days. Very tired and dirty! Food was appalling so give that a miss. We sent both dishes, from the very dire menu, back as it was not edible. The rooms was dated, tired and dirty. The restaurant and veranda look over to the most amazing views but was somewhat dampened down by the dirty windows. Manager seemed to not enjoy being there, which I feel was adding to the problem. I can imagine him not motivating staff or leading. His own trousers were filthy! Such a shame as this could be such a gem!

Fantastic room. Beautiful view. Exceptionally clean room. Delicious Nespresso coffee maker (sadly not enough pods, but reception kindly responded). Excellent bathroom. Super cosy bed, wished we had same at home!! Lovely member of staff, Thelma (think thats her name?) So welcoming, friendly and delightful! Our very 1st visit to HH, won't be the last!! Thank you for a magical stay!

This hotel seems to be more focused on the food and drink side of the business for their profit and don’t care about much else. They really overcharge for everything. Two drinks £30! No table service outside. Such a shame as that’s where most people go. Missing a trick there and just making people sad they have to go get their own stuff. The room was small, stuffy, outdated and extremely(!!) tired. Could do with investing in refurbishing the rooms then they could justify the high prices. Disappointed and won’t be returning.

The view is just sublime. The room was delightful. The service was mixed. We did think at one point we were wearing a cloak of invisibility. And we felt like replying when someone asked,”Any allergies,” “Yes, slow service.” The food was excellent and we heard one gentleman say he had eaten scrambled eggs all over the world but the ones at The Harbour Heights were the finest.

The hotel is nice; rooms good and comfortable albeit not overly large but have silly niggles: the small old TV is fixed to the wall and cannot be viewed from the bed; no USB connectivity; very creaky floors. The negatives are in the dining area and experience: very cold, too open - we suffered a loud party and despite moving as far as possible from them we still couldn’t converse without almost shouting, very disappointing menu - supposedly Italian but essentially pizza or pasta but very little else that you’d expect from a high end restaurant and overpriced. The experience at breakfast was ultimately no better: still far too cold in the dining area and although a good selection of breakfast items, the poached eggs for my Eggs Benedict weren’t cooked - l ended up with a plateful of watery mush ! I wouldn’t stay there again.

Really nice stay. Room very comfortable, great view, lovely bathroom with spa bath, healthy breakfast. We weren't impressed by the dinner menu on offer so went elsewhere. The hotel has fab views but I found it to be a bit drafty in the restaurant and lounge areas

Really disliked the fact that there is no table service for drinks on the terrace, only glass collection service. This meant us having to get up, queue for very slow service at the bar, and struggle with 4 drinks down the steps. Drinks are over priced too. However, the non service policy is a missed opportunity on the part of the hotel to up-sell as glasses collected. This is a poor part of the hotel experience. Outside staff were very young, not trained other than is very basic skill of picking up glasses. The bar service was very slow and I had to stand and wait for a good few minutes before being served.

The view is just sublime. The room was delightful. The service was mixed. We did think at one point we were wearing a cloak of invisibility. And we felt like replying when someone asked,”Any allergies,” “Yes, slow service.” The food was excellent and we heard one gentleman say he had eaten scrambled eggs all over the world but the ones at The Harbour Heights were the finest.
The view is just sublime. The room was delightful. The service was mixed. We did think at one point we were wearing a cloak of invisibility. And we felt like replying when someone asked,”Any allergies,” “Yes, slow service.” The food was excellent and we heard one gentleman say he had eaten scrambled eggs all over the world but the ones at The Harbour Heights were the finest.

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome with a smiling greeting from the reception staff (Tania). This continued throughout with a friendly chat everytime we were coming and going. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and as we requested we had a harbour view. Tea and coffee facilities were good and there was also an empty fridge for guests to use. Breakfast choice and quality was very good and again the staff were very nice and smiling (Jazz). We ate in the in-house Amalfi restaurant on the Monday night. Having eaten at Rick Steins restaurant the previous night I would say that, having had fish starters and mains both nights, overall the Amalfi's whole dining experience, quality of food and service was better (at less than half the price), especially our waitress Meena who always had a happy smile. We even received a voucher at reception for a free bottle of wine. Plenty of room in the car park but it is their winter season so the hotel wasn't very busy. Only negative might be, for less able person walking, is that it is a very steep road from the beach up to the hotel but if you are using a car then no problem. Overall would definitely recommend.

Good location in Canford Cliffs. Nice terrace and bar. Room nice but a tiny bit old fashioned, as was the hotel. Breakfast pleasant. Really not much to fault but not wow either. Would probably stay again so no complaints.

Very good location between Studland, Sandbanks, Poole and Bournemouth. The hotel though is tired, with outdated room furniture and decorations and missing modern conveniences like USB sockets. Bar v expensive, breakfast ok (granola bars great), slow service. Excellent views from the terrace

Great location overlooking the harbour, easy to get to Poole and Bournemouth, restaurants good although busy and noisy. Breakfast is very good but avoid the busy periods staff very friendly and polite

Nice hotel. Great location. Building is old so felt a little cold in some areas. But all understandable. Whirlpool bath was a nice surprise. Will visit again.

Room itself was a bit dated but breakfast was really nice and made to order with a view of Poole harbour. Location is 9 minutes walk from the beach but you can’t really see it unless you’re in the dining room or specific rooms I believe

We had a wonderful 3 nights, in a comfortable room, with excellent food and a stunning view of the harbour from the dining terrace and our bedroom. A very friendly welcome from reception staff, including a courtesy call the day before. Most of the dining staff, were helpful and efficient. We would definitely return again. We had a lovely time in beautiful Sandbanks and the hotel was in a great location for a walk to the beach.

I can only imagine what this place used to be. The views are breathtaking but the hotel has certainly seen better days. Very tired and dirty! Food was appalling so give that a miss. We sent both dishes, from the very dire menu, back as it was not edible. The rooms was dated, tired and dirty. The restaurant and veranda look over to the most amazing views but was somewhat dampened down by the dirty windows. Manager seemed to not enjoy being there, which I feel was adding to the problem. I can imagine him not motivating staff or leading. His own trousers were filthy! Such a shame as this could be such a gem!

The hotel is nice; rooms good and comfortable albeit not overly large but have silly niggles: the small old TV is fixed to the wall and cannot be viewed from the bed; no USB connectivity; very creaky floors. The negatives are in the dining area and experience: very cold, too open - we suffered a loud party and despite moving as far as possible from them we still couldn’t converse without almost shouting, very disappointing menu - supposedly Italian but essentially pizza or pasta but very little else that you’d expect from a high end restaurant and overpriced. The experience at breakfast was ultimately no better: still far too cold in the dining area and although a good selection of breakfast items, the poached eggs for my Eggs Benedict weren’t cooked - l ended up with a plateful of watery mush ! I wouldn’t stay there again.

Views of harbour fabulous and room very spacious along with plenty of amenities such as coffee maker, biscuits etc. staff very friendly and helpful. On the downside there was an engagement party, which was very noisy until midnight, the general soundproofing was very good but could not handle the noise of music and door banging from the party. Breakfast very good with great variety and taste. Very useful lift.

Really disappointed with my stay here. Paid nearly £300 for a room with water damaged walls, yellow stains around the windows. Breakfast service was appalling, stand ignored waiting for someone to see you to your table. Dirty cutlery and hairs on the table, no serving utensils for the buffet on majority of items causing people to pick up fruit etc with their hands, very unhygienic. My breakfast gets brought to the table, I decide to get up and get a coffee from the machine to a waiter clearing my food away and then when realised goes to put my food back on the table that he’d just had other peoples dirty plates piled on top of. Such a poor experience for the money. Would recommend their sister hotel, the sandbanks hotels over this, night and day when it comes to service etc and room standard.
