Melting pumpkins and bags of garbage outside. Room was clean but the floor in room was sticky and bathroom door would not close. Key card would not work had to get Management to open door. They didn’t issue me a new door card. When the door closed, had to get management to open door. Inconvenient to say the least. You get what you pay for.

Everything they offer is not what it was supposed to be. The pool was closed and the whole area was dirty and messy. The room had stains on the walls and doors, everything was untidy. The cleaning was done, but the structural damage overshadowed everything.

We didn't really have any big complaints because you get what you pay for. The beds were stiff. Not for people with nerve or joint problems. The A/C in one of our rooms was iffy. THE POOL WAS CLOSED IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER! But hey. We had a place to sleep and a roof over our heads for our trip and like I said, you get what you pay for.

This is a 1 star hotel at best. We are very surprised that Wyndham would have this property associated with their name ... or that Hotels.com would include it in their repertoire. Room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it reeked of nicotine. I got deodarizer spray from housekeeper and sprayed the walls, floors, curtains ... everything. The room phone did not work. The ice machine was inoperable, and front desk gal told me to go down the street to Super 8 hotel (owned by same people) and use their ice machine!! The room lacked toilet paper, which I also got from housekeeper, and was full of flies. But the most disgusting thing of all, was that a pot of decomposed food was in the microwave -- covered by squirming maggots!!

Terrible hotel! We opened the refrigerator in the first room we were assigned and there was a live cockroach in it. That same room had multiple burn hole so in the comforter. We got a new room that was closer to the front desk. In addition rj the first room being a dump, it was isolated in the back of the building. I was with my husband and still felt uncomfortable. The new room was barely better. The smoke detector was ripped from the wall. There were three lamps in the room and only one worked. I could not get my charger plug to stay in the wall outlet by the bed. Had to plug it in across the room. No coffee. No tea. The towels were terrible. It would have been a one star except the bed was ok and sheets were clean. The place was so beat up and neglected. I do not recommend it. See photos from the “good” room.

This place was awful. Cellings were falling down in walkways. Pet feces and urine were also in walkways. Room was very dirty, out of date, and in desprate need of repairs. Broken tiles in shower, cigarette burns on sink and comforters, walls covered in dirt and smudges, think dust on lighting fixtures, and my towels had black smudges on them. The pictures on the website are a false representation of what it really looks like.

The outside looks way better than inside the rooms. My feet got dirty and the floor felt slimy. There are two showers and two sinks, plenty of soap but one washcloth and two towels were all that were stocked in the room. There were poorly patched holes in the walls, about 5 of them, the room needs painted and there was gobs of brown to black substance on the walls. The curtains were heavily stained and we showered with the curtain open to avoid it touching us. The bed was comfy though we absolutely did not use the gross blanket.

The room was horrific. Walls were filthy and one bed was broken. The only thing that appeared to be clean was the sheets. Cigarette burns in the top blanket and lingering men on grounds along with cops at the facility. Do not stay here.

Well I don’t like to write a bad review, so I will state the positives first. The price was right. Front desk guy was friendly, and in his defence he did say to let him know if the room was ok… For a Travelodge this was a dive motel. I would fire the housekeeper that signed off on this room. The mirrors were so dirty that you could see what the last occupants wrote on them. There were cigarette burns in both the bedspreads, (more than a few) and the shower curtain was stained and worn. Really I have no trouble with worn, but the dirty is where I draw the line, even if it’s for a quick sleep. The sheets were clean or we’d have been out of there. Do better Travelodge. A thorough cleaning, new shower curtains, and two new bedspreads would have changed this review into a three star, not a one.

There was a wad of "something" on the floor in front of the toilet. Upon inspection, I concluded it was wallpaper from a 12" hole in the ceiling. I could see the pipes above. Pretty disgusting and very poor privacy/security. There was a family living in the room two doors down. They had two kids--no problem. But they also had adopted a colony of cats who were going in and out of the room. To add insult to injury, I requested on two occasions a wake-up call at 0400 so I could make an 0600 flight. Fortunately, I had two backups, because nobody called. Overall, a terrible experience.

I'll start with the positives- service was friendly, maybe a bit slow, but good. Internet access was working well after a slow connection start. Now, with the negatives. Very uncomfortable bed, woke up with lower back pain after both nights. TV didn't work. Very uncomfortable chairs. Bathrooms were just weak. Water temperature for the shower was difficult to control, often felt I was gonna scold myself with how hot the water got. Toilet was difficult to flush, having to press on the tank cover to get it to flush without breaking the flush lever. Nightstands and table looked old and outdated. Wall trim was chipped in several areas. Room looked less than plain, just pale and pathetic. Oh, and it looked like another individual (or 2) looked to be living in a room as a regular home. No access to the pool, despite it being the summertime. For what I paid for the room for 2 nights, it truly felt like a rip-off. Roanoke is a great place to visit. The hotel, however, does the city no favors. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Despite the friendly service and good internet access, I will not stay at this hotel again. Next time I'm in Roanoke, I'll stay somewhere else in or around the area.

Check in was great, got to the room and toilet was running. Switched rooms and 2nd room was worse. Light didnt work, only outlet sparked when tried to plug in my breathing machine. Non smoking room that was clearly smoked in. Very dated and needs a complete overhaul

For starters, the room was a double bed and I booked a king size. The room was not clean. The washcloths wasn't clean and no towels. When requested them they was never bought. I choose this location for the Wyndham name, location, price and recent positive ratings. Our room was in much need of repair; was documented as a non-smoking room, but reeked of smoke odor. Trash was everywhere outside and possible abandoned /wrecked vehicles. No towels were in the room, so I went to the front desk and realized that the night auditor had abandoned the motel; phone was ringing off the hook; and other guests came to check out with no one to assist them. I tried to find housekeeping and no one was there, but as I walked around realized there were several doors open to unmade rooms. I choose this location for the Wyndham name, location, price and recent positive ratings. Our room was in much need of repair; was documented as a non-smoking room, but reeked of smoke odor. Trash was everywhere outside and possible abandoned /wrecked vehicles. No towels were in the room, so I went to the front desk and realized that the night auditor had abandoned the motel; phone was ringing off the hook; and other guests came to check out with no one to assist them. I tried to find housekeeping and no one was there, but as I walked around realized there were several doors open to unmade rooms. I'll start with the positives- service was friendly, maybe a bit slow, but good. Internet access was working well after a slow connection start. Now, with the negatives. Very uncomfortable bed, woke up with lower back pain after both nights. TV didn't work. Very uncomfortable chairs. Bathrooms were just weak. Water temperature for the shower was difficult to control, often felt I was gonna scold myself with how hot the water got. Toilet was difficult to flush, having to press on the tank cover to get it to flush without breaking the flush lever. Nightstands and table looked old and outdated. Wall trim was chipped in several areas. Room looked less than plain, just pale and pathetic. Oh, and it looked like another individual (or 2) looked to be living in a room as a regular home. No access to the pool, despite it being the summertime. For what I paid for the room for 2 nights, it truly felt like a rip-off. Roanoke is a great place to visit. The hotel, however, does the city no favors. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Despite the friendly service and good internet access, I will not stay at this hotel again. Next time I'm in Roanoke, I'll stay somewhere else in or around the area.

The hotel was very old and rundown. Check-in went smoothly but when we got to the room, there were no towels or wash cloths and no trash can. I had to drive back around to the front office and was given one towel and washcloth and plastic bags for my trash. The gentleman was nice and apologized for not having more towels but blamed it on housekeeping not being there on the weekend. Other than that, the stay was uneventful.

I checked into a bottom floor room after checking the room I realized the toilet wouldn’t flush, the lighting was very dark, the tv wouldn’t work and the room was very dirty. After calling down to the front desk to let them be aware he asked me to get my stuff and everyone out of the room then he will move me. I went to get a new room and noticed several vacant rooms near next to us. After asking to keep us close to the room we had due to a lot of luggage he moved me to the other side of the building, 2nd floor. The next morning when checking out it was explained to the manager what happened and he cussed at us and said we only had a 4 luggage limit to bring into the room. Which was never stated to me either verbally or written. He said no refund and said he didn’t give a f..k

Check in was great, got to the room and toilet was running. Switched rooms and 2nd room was worse. Light didnt work, only outlet sparked when tried to plug in my breathing machine. Non smoking room that was clearly smoked in. Very dated and needs a complete overhaul

Parking lot was full of crack dealer! The room was full of mold. Staff haha well they was as bad as the shack they rented. No refund the pool was closed with trees growing in it I give this place a zero. Please take my word it’s disgusting!

Property looked deserted when we arrived. Trash and old mattress outside of first floor units. No one at check-in; waited for ten minutes and drove around whole place looking for someone. Whole place looked sketchy. When we called to ask for refund on our reservation, manager promptly billed us and refused a refund even when Expedia requested.

Unless your looking for the cheapest dirtiest hotel in Roanoke, so not stay here. Police were on site all weekend. Looks like place is getting ready to shutdown. First room I got had bugs everywhere and I turned light on. So I requested another room, no bugs but still terrible.

Room smelled of smoke although it said non smoking; we had no soap; tub faucet broken;bath room floor grungy; we were awakened after 9 pm by police knocking on our door. Then they went next door and arrested the person there. Allergies kicked in with a dry cough, red watery eyes, and stuffy nose. We weren’t happy and left after one night. We had to find another place to stay for subsequent nights.

False advertising! There was supposed to be an outdoor pool and breakfast included. The pool was not only closed, but looked like it may never open again. And NO BREAKFAST. There was no hair drying in the bathroom. The toilet seat was half falling off. Mold around the tub. NO TRASH CAN! The people at the front desk were unfriendly and unhelpful. Under no circumstances will I ever stay there again. I'll sleep in my car first.

This is a 1 star hotel at best. We are very surprised that Wyndham would have this property associated with their name ... or that Hotels.com would include it in their repertoire. Room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it reeked of nicotine. I got deodarizer spray from housekeeper and sprayed the walls, floors, curtains ... everything. The room phone did not work. The ice machine was inoperable, and front desk gal told me to go down the street to Super 8 hotel (owned by same people) and use their ice machine!! The room lacked toilet paper, which I also got from housekeeper, and was full of flies. But the most disgusting thing of all, was that a pot of decomposed food was in the microwave -- covered by squirming maggots!!

This is the first place that I actually saw a roach in the bathtub. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a family. This was a last option place and honestly this place made me think that if there was ever a last option anywhere then I would never take that option. But I did appreciate the hospitality it’s just the room was not what I expected to go into with my kids and wife.

Renovated is an understatement. This place needs to be torn down and build back up from scratch. The rooms smelled like cigarettes, bed sheets tearing apart, pillows not maintained, and everything else looks old and moldy. I had a hard time getting a good night just from how uncomfortable I was. I would avoid staying here as much as possible
