Fiddlers Inn Opryland

Pros: Staff was very friendly and as helpful as they could be. Several bars with live music within walking distance. Close to Gaylord Opryland and offers shuttle to Broadway for a reasonable price. Cons: Unfortunately, the amenities at the hotel leave a lot to be desired. There is no pool and breakfast dwindled down to nothing as the week progressed. Many people had troubles with key cards not working, us included.

Main reason we went was for my baby's to swim. This place offers a pool but does not have one. It's a shame that was our main reason for choosing this hotel

We liked that it was ten minutes or less from the Opry House. Check in was quick and easy even though we arrived two hours before the listed check in time. The room was nice and accommodating for our one night stay. The only problem was the limited parking spaces. We drive a large GMC Sierra that needs more space to get in and out and it just wasn’t available. Nobody told us if there was any other parking available so when we came back from the Opry and found all spaces taken, we took a space in the Cracker Barrel parking lot. A three story hotel should have more than single row of parking.

Pet friendly. Lots of restaurants and music venues close by.

Premises very dated, breakfast was much to be desired. Wi-Fi was very hit and miss. Beds not changed for our 12 day stay! The lift certificate run out in June but the lift is still being used. Bars around the area have sub standard singers but still charge broadway prices for drinks. The pool was next to the bars in another area of the hotel you could not use the pool without a wristband which we were never offered. Will never go back to this place 😡

The first night was not good as the room i was in was clean but the door entry was damaged. I called they moved me to another room the hotel is going through a big renovation. All rooms. Are accessed from outside. Dont bother with the breakfast plenty around to eat . IE. crackerbarrel, bob evans. Plenty of night life as well. Two museums are great, esp Willie Nelsons. Its free and like going to the hall of fame without the cowds. If you liked dukes of hazard, Cooters museum was fun.. Transportation to downtown by bus is only 10 bucks rt. Drops you at the hall of fame can get to anywhere downtown. Uber was easy to get as well. Ill prob stay there again. There is no pool. That was out of service.

Great price, walkable to some live music, food and bars. Pet friendly with no extra fees or deposits. Spacious rooms. Close to the grand ol opry and freeways. Free breakfast was ok, but at least it’s free. All around would recommend.

This was a pet friendly motel and was happy about that since we were traveling with 3 small dogs. We stayed here 11 years ago for honeymoon. Was less busy then. Now it was busy and noisier than before. Room was okay but could use an update on them. Looked like there was a tissue in the ceiling of the room we stayed it. Over all it was okay for the one night we needed it for!

we had no remote they had to replace the tv, the toilet seat bolts were loose seat wobbled hard to sit on , the shower bar fell on my wife it fell off the wall, they said they had a pool we never found it, the breakfast was not very good

The $200.00 incidental fee per room came as a surprise. The furniture in room was outdated,refrigerator would not get cold, and the commode in the bathroom was made for children about four. Some of the channels on the TV were frozen the entire time we were there. The bed was hard as a rock, and only had three pillows for a king size bed. Tub type shower & very slippery for seniors.We would not stay again due to the noise level coming from the surrounding area & other rooms. The picture of the Inn on line are deceptive because that was not the building we stayed in, there is two buildings to the INN. We only stayed 2 nights 6/23-6/25.

Clean? Okay. Outside was terrible. Inside okay. Bathroom sink light broken out of the wall. Old mattresses but with nice new mattress covers, good clean sheets but no spread. A roach in the bathroom, but it was just a little one. New carpet. In all fairness they look to be renovating and we got the room at a discount rate. I slept well. So all is good.

Bathroom and beds were very clean but beyond that the room was run-down amd dirty looking....curtains ripped, doors have seen better days, the place was noisy all night!

Great location. Needs thorough cleaning. Breakfast is minimal, actually went across street for coffee as brew at hotel was bad.

The rooms are not cleaned like they should be when you can see some else’s hair stuck to the bathroom door and dirt all around baseboards. We stayed three nights and never received maid service! I told them every night when I had to go pick up my own towels and wash clothes but no one seemed to care. Will not stay here again!

Stained sheets, bugs in the bed, holes in wall, baseboards falling off. Total dump!

The room was very clean

Our room was dirty. I have photos. Upon arrival the shower was covered in hairs that aren’t ours with a razor from whoever was there prior, there was a dead roach on the dust boards, only 3 small pillows on a King size bed. The heater was turned all the way up to 85 and it was cold both nights on top of the shower that takes 5 minutes to even half way warm up with the hot dial all the way turned.

Good location but the room was gross. It looked clean at first glance but there was stuff on carpet, drapes were stained and torn, sheets had cigarette burn and tears, walls were dirty. I would'nt walk barefoot in the room and i put a towel on my pillow and slept above the sheets with my own blanket. Good enough for one night but would never stay again. Staff was nice.

This place is in major need of repairs. Ceiling falling, holes in walls, stains and markings on carpet and walls.

Very old and dated. Not disgusting but nowhere near nice. LOVE THE $10 Shuttle downtown. Can easily walk to the convention center and the scoreboard restaurant is right behind it and we enjoy that.

I thought the front desk people I spoke with were kind, and the distance from The Palace where I was dancing was superb. However, this place could really use a bit of tidying up. The toilet paper holders were missing in several rooms (the toilet paper roll just sat in an unfinished hole in the wall), the duvet often had burn holes, and some of light fixtures didn't work at all. I'm a pretty low maintenance person, so none of this really concerned me, but when spending money on anything we hope to be getting our money's value in a stay. Just a few easy fixes could have eliminated the unmaintained feel to the stay. Overall I thought the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and steady. Not much else needed for a budget friendly stay.

Rooms need upgrading bad. Our room had frayed carpet, hole in bathroom wall, beds need new mattresses. Light between beds did not work

It’s definitely clean, and staff is very friendly, but parts of the building is showing it age. The curtains in my room were torn, and the air/heat was so loud that I had to turn it off so I could hear over it. And my non smoking room smelled very much like cigarettes. Otherwise it was okay.

I liked the location and the price. But this property is undergoing renovation and the second-floor passageway is cluttered with mattresses and other items. The level of cleanliness inside the room was acceptable, but the outside was not.

Bed and bedding were clean and comfortable. This hotel is nothing more than a minimally dressed up Motel 6, at a much higher cost. Rooms accessed from an individual outside door. Straight back to vanity, bathroom and hanging clothing 'nook'. The hotel has two separate buildings. I was put into the far one from the main/office building. My stay was for four nights. Some nights, I was only one of maybe two or three other rooms occupied. The hotel offers free internet. HOWEVER, while I could seem to connect to the Wi-Fi, I could get no internet connection. After a couple of trips to the office and some investigating of my own, I found that my room was the issue. If I stepped outside my room, I could connect fine. I could connect OK in the hotel lobby. They said they'd have maintenance check and adjust the server. Never happened. The TV control was "FILTHY". I cleaned it off and found 'black' residue of some sort came off on the washcloth. The bathroom was clean, as were the towels and washcloths. Generally, the place is old, 'frayed around the edges' in many places. I thought about taking photos. But, they wouldn't have been in any way flattering. Staff were nice enough, but really more "indifferent" than 'friendly'.

Great room, clean and comfortable but unfortunately the parking lot allows large trucks to park there and some may keep their engine on all night which is loud and disruptive.

The bed must of had some broken springs, the mattress leaned way over to the right. Very uncomfortable mattress. Other than that I thought the hotel was pretty nice hotel.

Location for our event was perfect. Remodeling was good but most half a_ _. Our TV the remote didn’t work, no cable could not connect to the internet. I left something from our previous visit and the manager said he would put it in a bag with our name and then no one could find it when we arrived. Desk people were courteous and fun.

People working there were very helpful. There was a lot of construction going on due to remodeling, but it wasn't noisy.

For the money alone this was excellent for a 3-day weekend stay. Previous reviews set up a fear but the rooms were clean and comfortable we even had another person join us and got his own room and it was clean and good as well. We even extended our stay one more day. The location was wonderful we were three girls two of us with birthdays and we just wanted to find a good place with live music. There is four of them right at the back door of this place. And a cracker barrel next door. Opry Mills Mall was right around the corner and we were able to park in the back of the mall where the theaters were and walk through a white fence over to the botanical gardens at opryland motel they were beautiful. We caught the shuttle will not and went downtown and have a over bring us back. That went real well and nobody had to drive since we were drinking. I suppose if you stay there and you do feel like your room is dirty like in some of the previous reviews.just ask them to swap rooms

The check in clerk was very friendly and courteous. He also helped informed us of the area. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable

Last minute stay. The check in was a little slow and the young man who checked us in made us pay even though expedia had already taken the payment. Expedia was able to refund us though so it worked out. Its an older hotel with some obvious work needed but the beds were super comfortable and we slept well.

Great staff. They go above and beyond. I'll keep going back.

Front desk staff was very helpful and responded quickly when there was a problem with the TV remote (I had only been in the room about 10 mins). He also noticed the room had a smoke smell and moved me to another room immediately.

I enjoyed the location because I was able to see a lot of the local attractions within walking distance of the hotel and the cost was the cheapest I found in the area. In my opinion the cons fat outweighs the pros. I witnessed the hotel staff being rude and unprofessional to customers on several occasions and experienced it myself. The housekeeping staff were the only ones that acted in a professional manner. The police and or emergency medical where at the hotel on a daily basis mainly due to drug related health incidents, drug activities, or violence. Also, cleanliness and pest control were extremely lacking. I had on many occasions taken pictures of cockroaches in areas of my room, alerted staff of the problem and even after witnessing the problem no pest control specialist was ever sent to my room. When I asked the front desk a week later they said it never reported the problem. The infestation continues to get worse. The maintenance man would constantly asking to do work in the room and even when guest were out he would enter without knowledge or permission. It's a very unprofessional, unclean, unsafe, and uncomfortable environment to try and enjoy yourself. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying there if your traveling with children. Not the kind of conditions you want your children exposed to.

Great experience dealing with the staff

My daughter and I needed something cheap for one night. I found Fiddlers Inn. When I got there to check in I spoke with Diego and he was awesome!! Very kind and funny. He made us feel welcomed. He even called to make sure that we had found our room okay and asked if everything was like it should be. There was one lamp that didn’t work and the lamp shade on another lamp was all busted up but other than that the room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area and need a place for a night.

Hotels.com booked 3 rooms for our stay of friends! Booking was great. Two rooms were checked in with ease. 3rd room was checked in but room was locked inside with deadbolt somehow and could not be entered for more than 2 hours. Clerk was engaged in a personal phone conversation upon arrival and left without notice and our room issues could not be reported and other customers were left with no clerk available. Poor service and nobody was there to take care of other reservations. Will not stay there again.

I like the location close to attractions.

Fiddler's Inn is not the most up to date motel. It is clean, beds are comfy. Close to several bars that have great country music.

Nearby music venues too loud and too late at night. Fireworks set off after midnight. There should be more noise control since people come to Fiddlers Inn to sleep. Location was great for the Opry.

Check in: great and easy the person was very nice very friendly. Stay: no problems or issues I love the location great food and live music all around 3 minute drive from the mall 15 minutes from downtown area and free parking. I got my money’s worth. Check out the staff is very nice and friendly. You are the first and last person I see.

A little out of my way but, that was my fault. I did find "off highway" directions to my destination for visiting family. It was great for a smaller hotel. Everything appliance worked. Right next to Cracker Barrel, shares a lot with little shops and a place to listen to music. Pretty quiet area. Near Operaland Hotel and their shops. Easy to navigate there with GPS .

The shower made noise when the water was turned on. The room overall was clean and comfortable. The furniture needs to be replaced, it’s old and it shows. I appreciate with the temperatures outside being so hot, the a/c worked. The “breakfast” was horrible! There wasn’t any. These people are charging 200 for incidentals and can’t even serve an edible breakfast. They had a few slices of bread and a carton of milk. Absurd!!!!

Property was cheap and convenient. Dogs barking kept me awake the 2nd night of my stay. Room was clean, no breakfast and no coffee until 6:30. No one even in the office at 6:00am

It was surprisingly clean, but majorly run-down. No shower head, hole in the bathroom wall, fraying paint splattered carpet, not a great smell to the room. A laughable “continental breakfast”. Very convenient. Low cost. Quiet. Instant hot water. Safe.

We found it to be what we needed--a clean, affordable room within walking distance of the Gaylord. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was a minimal offering, and though cereal was available the first morning, bowls were not. The coffee was, in our opinion, terrible. Still, we are glad for our stay there.
