Gammelt hotel med en masse sjæl. Skøn udsigt og tæt på mindre flod. Gode vandremuligheder i nærheden. Spillerum i kælderen, hvor man kan spille pool, bordtennis eller et godt gammelt arkadespil.

This is a charming historic inn which is part of the Historic Hotels of America National Trust. Its present structure dates back to 1915 when it was rebuilt after a fire in the same year. Prior to that there was an Inn on the same site dating back to 1879. Its main selling point is its fantastic location and the stunning views of the mountains as well as its front porch with lots of seating. The hotel itself is cosy, clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. There’s a nice relaxed vibe here. They’ve tried to keep some of the original features such as an old telephone box in the reception area and an original elevator with two doors that have to be manually shut, The rooms themselves are comfortable, clean, a decent size but somewhat tired although this seems to add to the charm of the place. We’d stay again!

A wonderful older property with plenty of history. Eagle Mountain House was rebuilt in the early 1900s following a fire, so do not go in expecting modern luxury. You get unique characteristics like an elevator where you have to manually open and close the double doors, though the furniture and carpets in the rooms is definitely tired and due for an update while still keeping the historic feel. The room was clean at check-in, the bed was decent, and basic amenities were covered. One practical tip: older buildings have gaps, so avoid leaving lights on. I left the bathroom light on overnight and found a cluster of tiny flies in the tub the next morning. Keeping all lights off when out or sleeping completely solved the issue for the rest of the stay. Staff was friendly, and the hotel restaurant offered a descent menu and we enjoyed our dinner and a couple of good breakfasts. The on-site golf course offers beautiful mountain views, but don't expect much from the course itself as it is not well maintained. Overall, a very nice stay and I would stay here again.

We had booked a king room with a queen sofa bed for 3 adults. When we checked in the receptionist did not mention any potential problem, but when we got to the room there was a sign on the sofa bed that it was broken. That made the room inadequate for 3 people and not what we had paid a high price for. When I went back to the receptionist, she said she knew the problem but there was nothing she could do since they were full. After considerable prodding she said she would get a cot. As our only choice we used that for the night, but it was extremely uncomfortable. The next morning, we asked for the manager that we were told would be in. We were then told neither she nor anyone else with authority was going to be in that day. We cancelled our 2nd night reservation. We are hoping not to be charged for the 2nd night and hopefully get at least a partial refund for the 1st night. Avoid this hotel at all costs. They are not friendly or helpful.
