Comfort Suites Near Texas State University

Grass overgrown. Pool green. Hotel not clean. Broken air conditioning units facing street. Ceiling leaks & trashcans catching water. Cobwebs in room. Dirt & small bugs in bathtub. Hotel smelled of mold /mildew !! Staff inept. Mgr just made excuses rather than taking responsibility !

The property needs to be cleaned up, a lot of door room signs are peeling, or replaced with mismatched ones. The smell is musty, when you enter the motel, sort of like mildew, the pool was turning green. My check in was not good, we drove in front out of town, we were tired, we arrived at 3:30, and we were informed the room was ready, but check in in was 4:00, i asked for an early check in, she said policy was 25 dollars for that, we had to wait in our car, for 30 minutes. The room was clean and comfortable, and didnt smell as bad as the rest of the hotel, but tub is badly stained. I won't be staying with comfort suites again.

Check in is at 4:00 now not 3:00 like stated on expedia. Staff was not even trying to let in is any earlier. Lots of construction by the hotel. The pool was filled with alge. Staff looked like tgey had just walked in off streets, hoodies and backward . We ended up just driving back hime and not staying there.

Hotel is not at all like what it looks like in pictures we found small roaches in our room fire alarm went off at midnight front desk said they were resetting it why would they do that at night when ppl are sleeping! We kept smelling cigarette smoke in the hall it was awful. My kids wanted to get in the pool and that was a big NO it was green dirty with algae. I would not recommend this place at all!

Booked a hotel that had a fitness room and pool. This locations pool was green and unkept. The room claimed to be the fitness room had one elliptical that was nonfunctional and a weight machine which was broken in a third floor storage sized room with no tv or AC. The room was ok but the common areas on second and third floors had a bad smell. The woman working the breakfast area stepped outside to “vape” every 10-15 minutes right next to the door then came back in and touched the breakfast containers. No hand washing. Gross. Not worth the money and wouldn’t stay again.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. That’s about all. The pool was closed the whole time for maintenance but other people there that have been staying a while working construction in the area said the same sign has been on the pool for over a month. The property was dirty and was not properly cleaned the two days we were there. There were chips that were all over the floor in our hallways for two days straight and never got cleaned. The elevator was gross and dirty with hair and all kind of other stuff on the ground. The shower in our room was dirty and dripping water. We had to clean it ourself before we or the kids could even use it. Went to make coffee and there was hair on the counter beside the coffee maker and an old used coffee filter with grounds still in the coffee maker. No telling how long it had been there. Pretty much the only thing this hotel has going is the front desk man and woman that were very pleasant and helpful.

It is accessible but it is right next to the freeway and it is very noisy. I didn't like the pool because it was very dirty. It needed maintenance. This is an old and neglected hotel. It is not for me.

Location convenient. Tub faucet was loose and needed recaulking. Tub also had major rust stains. Third floor button in the elevator was covered over w/painter's tape (?!).

Upon arrival the staff was friendly, we then went to our room and instantly smelled of mildew. Went to use the bathroom and could see mold and the bathtub was all rusted, my asthma immediately kicked in. Went down and asked if they had another and they were booked. We did end up getting refunded.

My room was in very poor condition. It smelled strongly of mold, and I found a used female pad and a dirty towel in the closet. The bed cover had boogers stuck to it, and there were cockroaches present. The carpet was sticky, and several rooms nearby were partying loudly in the hallways. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience.

The halls, and elevator smelled and not clean. Bathroom shower was dirty.

Hotel had an odor from the time entering the building all the way into the room. The next morning when hospitality services was available the downstairs smelled better but 2nd floor remained with a moldy type odor.

The photos online were not the same as the location. None of it. The building does not even remotely appear to be the same. It has broken and missing parts in the ac units on the outside of the building. There is rust lines just coming down oozing off the walls on the outside. The parking lot was in terrible need of repair. But the inside, OMG the inside.. reeks of mold and mildew. The wallpaper is falling off the walls, the room options that I was shown? Yeah, both rooms had broken furniture. The walls were ALL scuffed, pieces of drywall were just poked out like actual holes in the wall and not to mention the water damage visible. This place was actually seriously so bad that I couldn’t stay here. That tour, was one of what nightmares are created from. Save your money and stay elsewhere please. I immediately asked for a refund, and was told that it’ll have to wait until morning because the “management” was the there at 10 am the next day. Again, I refused stayed here due to the health hazard and awful / terrible conditions of the property. The worker of the front desk said that they did not have access to “third party” stuff to approve my cancellation. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had booking any place.

Cockroaches, smells in the room, ants, not very clean in the room, needs maintenance

I love staying at confort inn but this particular hotel was old, kind of dirty, and even saw one cockroach in my room . Never staying in this particular hotel again. I am very sorry for this review but I must be honest.

The staff was pleasant, the sheets and towels were clean. We were there just to sleep. We had a balcony, we could not access it was locked with a key and had duct tape? Tub had mold around the tub and need some calk. We showered and water ended up on the floor outside of the bathroom. There was tape on the arch walls that look like it had been there for a while. Propery needs some TLC.

I do not recommend staying at this hotel. Very run down and dirty. We saw multiple cockroaches right outside of our room. Our television was slanted on the wall and did not work. The water faucet in the shower was dripping and could not be turned off. When we did try and take a shower there was no hot water. Our room also did not get cleaned the next day. There are many hotels in this area and this is one to avoid!

The room was run down. The chair in my room had no leather/pleather left on it. Why would I pay that rate to have an office chair that looked like it belonged in the dump. I even took photos of it. Everything in that room looked damage, old and worn out.

The hotel is about 50 yards from the I-35 freeway and is very noisy from about 6am to midnight. Our room faced the freeway so it was very noisy. The included breakfast was very good with a good variety including do it yourself waffles and various other hot meals.

Elevator wouldn’t change floors. Our bedroom floor carpet was wet from wall to wall. A/C wouldn’t adjust…it was either freezing or off, no in between. Worn out carpet in stairwell.

Location of property was good. Building looked like it was half remodeled. Elevator smelled old and dingy. Bathtub faucet was broken. Room looked like it needed some painting done and some outlets didn’t work. Felt like an old hotel that was remodeled and halfway through just gave up and figured it would be ok. Only positive thing was the staff, they were very friendly and helpful.

The room was large and quiet. The closet door was broken. But I dealt with that. The only gross thing was there was a used bar of soap in the shower. The bed was kind of hard but that’s just me. The pillows were amazing!! They were soft and there were lots of them.

Too close to freeway traffic

Overnight stay for daughter's Ring Day at Texas State. The hotel looked old and repairs that were made looked low quality. The shower water never got hot, just very low warm. Also, you could not the water to completely shut off, there was a small steady stream. The TV streaming was lagging it was powered by Roku device.

The thermostat in the room #106 did not work

Worst Customer Care ever the front desk person. It was really rude and she was always mad and she couldn’t help me at all and if I stay there it’s because they were denying to give me my money back. That was the only reason I stay there.

We stay here every time we go to San Marcos to see our daughter at school. Yesterday they treated us so nicely. It’s always clean and convenient. Not too expensive not too cheap. We love it.

When we arrived, nobody was at the front desk, we had to wait 30 minutes. No hot water in the shower We stayed 2 nights and they didn't clean the room The elevator floor was all messed up for those two days And we can't adjust the air conditioner temperature, first night was cold and the second night was too warm Overall was an awful experience We will never chose again that hotel, And i ask for some cash back and they say i have to tell you so that we can have a partial refund for the inconveniance

Great Hotel. So comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious. LOVE the ceiling fan! Helpful in our Texas weather. Employees were so very nice. Katie was the best!!!

An absolute terrible experience! Hotel clerk was Not available at all we had to wait over an hour total to even get the guy to come up front to check us in. Then he basically called me a liar and said that we weren't waiting. Which his cameras on the property will prove that we were and I also have video myself. There were boogers on the bathroom walls and the bed side table. The bathtub was filthy and the water in the bathroom sink would not turn off completely and the television did not work We Never received breakfast either days as well. So so disappointed!

Room wasn’t ready when we got there at 5:00. Check in is at 4. They said it would be ready in 30 min. I waited in my car. Put me on hold when I called to see if ready. Then went in: still not ready. Finally ready at 5:45. Went in room and beds are messed up. The rest of the room seemed clean. Went down and Told them just give me the sheets and I’ll change the beds. They said previous people refused the room and messed up the beds on purpose. We were so tired and needed to be somewhere. Finally the front desk staff came and changed the beds. They said they were short oncleaning staff. Ok, but they didn’t take action unless I went and stood in front of them. But at least they finally made up my beds. The hotel can use a good sprucing up. The elevator floor was very dirty because it had been raining, and was still the same the next day. Had fantastic water pressure though. Will not stay here again.

The staff was friendly and the room was clean. It’s a basic hotel, nothing too fancy. The breakfast was good and it was quiet. It was perfect for our short stay.

This hotel was conveniently located to Texas State, and easy to get the I35.

Freeway service road location and construction on service road mad the property difficult to egress, very dangerous. Basic budget acommodations, noting remarkable.

Close to everything

My husband didn’t like the elevator it was dirty. The floor. The breakfast wasn’t that good. We didn’t bother going after the first day. The room was clean and spacious.

This Comfort Suites was an older location which was a little rough around the edges. The shower pressure wasn't nearly strong enough. All that being said however, the free breakfast was excellent, better than more expensive hotels we've stayed at, and the breakfast staff replaced the servings regularly, which was great! Also, the beds were comfortable. So all in all, if you can look past the older appearance and don't mind a weaker shower stall, this is a very budget friendly option for your family.

Customer service was non existent and the breakfast was pretty much out of food the 3x I checked. Hotel was fine and clean.

There was limited coffee and no ice as ice machines on the 3rd and 2nd floors were broken and the kitchen had to take ice from the one working on the first floor. Our room smelled bad, maybe from mildew or bad air filters. The breakfast quality left much to be desired.

I’m at this hotel every week and it’s the best deal in town. Very friendly staff, breakfast has a pretty good variety and it’s very quiet. It’s in a good area as well. Plenty of restaurants and Walmart, if you forget something, is right down the road.

Hotel was very run down. Rhe elevator was dirty and poorly maintained; there was no shampoo in the bathroom; the shower curtain was not long enough to keep the water in; the shower water was cold; the tub spout needed to be caulked; also - breakfast offerings were not well stocked - no milk, eggs, sausage, or gravy for nearly 30 minutes. Very disappointing experience
