We were given a weird room on the first floor. It had all these mirrors. We heard people speaking through the mirrors. We asked to be moved. There was only one room left, on the fifth floor, and fortunately we were moved there. Much better room. We were told there was turn down service. We requested it but it never happened. Hotel is big. A classic. The pool was salt water and nice to swim in after our long drive. Valet parking was a plus. Complimentary coffee in the morning was also a plus. We had a cocktail at the bar. Nice crowd. Bartender was also a plus.

Not enough stars to do it justice. We have come here before but never knew about the free shuttle service to the Altria Theater in a slick mini coach driven by a very nice gentleman who explained how to most expeditiously get picked up for the return after the show. WOW. How cool is that? Of course everything about the hotel and our room was as good as it could be.

Who knew that there is a free shuttle to the Altria Theater? The check in lady knew and sent us to the concierge to set it up. Michael, the driver, was rightly proud of his stately mini-coach and explained how to arrange to meethim most expeditiously after the show.

World-class hotel. Incredible service. However, it is pricey. Valet had plugs to charge our EV, so Valet turned out to be better option than self-park.

The Jefferson is stunning. It was decorated to the hilt. It is a beautiful property. My only complaint is that due to its splendor and popularity, as guests we couldn't access much, eg bar was too criwded, no dinner reservations, no high tea reservations, etc.

Beautiful and historic Hotel with excellent staff! Fabulous experience! My husband had a wonderful massage at the spa and the Gator Boutique is filled with wonderful gifts. The food was delicious… we are looking forward to another stay!

Absolutely amazing! Loved the space of the room and especially enjoyed having windows. The ambiance was great and the bathroom was like a spa. Just be prepared to pay to park even if you self park. They did provide some transportation downtown to help with excursions if interested. Overall amazing stay

The property is beautiful, and the room was lovely. Very first rate, quiet, roomy. Turn down service was efficient and pleasant. The mattress was a bit worn and sunk down on the side closest to the door, so it was a tiny bit challenging to sleep. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. First let me say - just about every person working in the hotel was pleasant, greeting us most often with a smile, and always attentive and helpful. The only small snags were that I had ordered sparkling wine to be delivered on our arrival on Wednesday. We arrived early and were allowed an immediate check in which was extremely helpful. There was no sparkling wine delivered - and we went out to walk around and tour the capitol building, returning in time to change for an in room massage. Still no sparkling wine but our massages were rescheduled due to one therapist canceling. So - we went to dinner. I never contacted the front desk to say we didn't receive the wine, since we decided to go out. Unfortunately a bottle of sparkling wine WAS delivered to our room late on Thursday - but we did not want it then, and had not requested it - so I had to send it back. I was given a full credit - just wish we had not had to send it back. And the housekeeping service the last day entered our room after we had placed the privacy light on to go eat breakfast - so we interrupted the service unfortunately. Very minor snafus - Still a wonderful place and we'd stay again!!

We weren’t sure what to expect; would it be two grand and would it feel pretentious? Not at all! It is a five star hotel and deserves that distinguished rating. Every detail is beautifully thought out. The staff are warm and friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. It is beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained, so we gave it five stars in every category, except for one. On the subject of eco-friendliness, we gave it a four because, after all, extreme luxury really isn’t compatible with environmental sensibility. One detail that surprised us and I suppose disappointed us was that the windows in our “luxury suite” were very dirty. Ideally, they would be sparkling clean. It is a gracious place and we hope to come back when we are in the area again.

My wife and I stayed here to catch a comedy show for our anniversary at the Altria Theatre. The theatre was within walking distance (8-10 min walk). We arrived to find easy parking, very friendly and courteous staff, and super clean hotel. Even during a snow storm everything was very clean. The room did not disappoint either. Very large room, bed was comfortable, and did I mention… clean?! I hate dirty bathrooms when I stay in a hotel. I felt like you could eat off of the floor here! We got room service for breakfast. Right on time… The food was hot, delicious, and filling. I would 100% recommend staying here again. Everything was too notch.

A true grande dame hotel. Architecturally important. Large rooms. Old world atmosphere. Housekeeping excellent. Staff attentive. Room service breakfast on time and superb. The exterior window caulking is falling off. The rooms could use a refresh. The hotel needs some TLC. All in all a delightful experience.

Everything was outstanding. Couldn't find any downsides. Beautiful, great location, perfect bed, luxurious towels, every need met. Terrific staff, TV in bathroom mirror. Chocolates on bedstands.

Rooms were well appointed and the food wonderful...my only complaint is that the bed frame was larger that the mattress (in our room). With the close proximity to the wall, it was difficult to get into bed without banging an ankle or leg against the frame.

The VIP upgrade process went very well. Rooms were spacious and nicely appointed with nice amenities. The only problem was the cold air leakage from the closed windows near the bed — unfortunately the heavy drapes did not fully block out the cold air. The room was a little unevenly heated — warmero in some spots. Otherwise the upgraded rooms were a very nice perk and staff was very supportive and kind. Valet system re car can be done on your phone which is a nice convenience.

Enjoyed our stay. Absolutely fell in love with the hotel room's bathroom. There was a tub, stand up shower, and toilet separated by a door. The bathroom mirror also had a built in tv so I got to enjoy bubble baths while watching tv every night! Worth every penny!!

We were charged in a very odd way, seems like everything doubled the minute we walked in. Joe at the valet stand was absolutely wonderful. The front desk staff was really not that friendly.

The Jefferson is an absolute icon in Richmond, Virginia, and is always a fantastic place to stay! From check in to check out everything, all your wants and needs, anything at all, is attended to with the utmost professionalism! The courtesy is above and beyond, and the drinks at the bar are served up with quite a heavy Poore! I highly recommend The Jefferson to anyone traveling to Richmond!

Any stay at The Jefferson Hotel is a wonderful experience. From the valet staff to house keeping, everyone is highly professional and personable. The facility itself is immaculate and spectacular. Dining in all of the restaurants is a very enjoyable experience.

We stay at the Jefferson often, and it never disappoints! We relax as soon as we check in! Some staff that make our stay wonderful and make us feel at home: William at the concierge desk; Bakar the bellman; and Ryanna at Lemaire! The neighborhood is great, and many restaurants just blocks away.

Beautiful hotel in a convient to museums. The hotel provides shuttle service. I would highly recommend the hotel. The food and services were excellent.

Really lovely hotel and room. To get into the parking, you check in first and then use your keycard to get into the overnight parking, which was safe and reasonably priced. The lobby is stunning, the location is great, lots of attractive turn-of-the-century buildings and homes in the surrounding blocks. The stars of the service side were defintely the housekeepers as the place was very fresh and clean, with a charming turn down service. Other service members were eager to please but a little "green". I really liked the room and the bathroom, which had a separate bath and shower. Great experience.

Our stay was great. I highly recommend the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. They do everything right. The room was lovely, the service was exceptional, and the location was perfect. We will definitely visit again.

Do this trip yearly for my wife. Valet was backed up, no direction given on parking/leaving keys etc. was supposed to get free valet as VIP Expedia member, did not. Massage was phenomenal, but health facilities are in the basement, no sunlight, freezing cold, dated. Room smelled like body odor. We were out on a low floor, our view was a roof and a noisy HVAC unit. The shower drain backed up until you were standing in ankle deep water. At some point the in room mini bar was turned into unrefrigerated soft drinks and assorted snacks, which was disappointing. This was compounded by Lemair being closed for renovations. Made a dinner reservation and was not notified about the renovation and alternative seating and smaller menu in the TJ Millers downstairs. Dinner was decent but the dining room was dirty. The blinds hadn’t been cleaned in years, it looked like. I’ve likely stayed here 10+ times over the last 15 years and it was always mine and my wife’s treat to each other. Looks like we will have to find a new “five star” hotel for spoiling each other.

Lemaire's was great...had a late dinner, fried oysters, then rockfish. Perfect. Next morning, best Eggs Benedict ever. Will have to make another trip to work in the Sunday Brunch. Look forward to it!

Fabulous hotel. My only disappointment was the lack of dinning facilities. The only restaurant was impossible to get reservations for. Bar full of locals so difficult to get service.

Beautiful hotel. Very good food - burger was awesome. Staff is very friendly. Room was also very nice. Bathroom was so nicely laid out. Overall a fantastic experience.

An absolutely beautiful hotel! Make sure to bring some nicer clothes to really feel like you're immersed in the environment. I highly recommend eating at Lemaire inside the hotel. Great amenities including a gorgeous bathtub and shower. I recommend the King room! Very helpful staff as well, and there are cute gift shops too. My wife especially loved the complimentary robe you can use in the room! There is no complimentary breakfast that I know of, but there's plenty of options within walking distance or some options inside the Gators gift shop.

Best thing about the Jefferson is its staff, they have helpfulness and accommodation down to a fine art. Most appreciated amenity is the car service which makes getting to where you're going during your stay as easy as possible. The hotel restaurant was not inspiring, rather limited menu. All in all, though, a great stay in a great city.

My stay at the Jeffers Hotel was wonderful. The staff were extremely helpful, cordial, and welcoming. The premises were kept pristine, and my room was very comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The restaurant also offered very good food. Overall, I had an excellent experience and would happily stay at the Jeffers Hotel again.
